Why is like 90% of your posts mostly arguments?

You...Cork...don't follow my thread do you? So when you say 90% of my posts are conflicting...argument...you are not seeing the picture in completeness.

I'm fucking with you.

You're the one posting up nonsense...atom bombs blowing up...the end of the world scenario....the Russian farming revolution... Please.

You hitch your wagon up to some of these idiots and you get what you get. Don't be an Internet Crusader.

Get off your ass and do something about GMOs if that's your cause. Be proactive. Don't be a bitch. These fools are mostly shut ins....unhappy with their stations in life. Internet geniuses....masters of the obvious...they get upset when you call them on it.

all it is.

keep watching

Because most of what Jericho is responding to is exactly like he says. People parroting shit they read on the Internets.

Saying Russia and Cuba are good at farming is like taking advice from North Korea on how to run a country.

And before anyone gets on me, I am a farmer. Not an internet farmer a real farmer. And I am also a realist, same as Jericho. People hate realists. People do not want to hear the truth, it hurts. Paper thin skin these days.

The chemicals farmers use are directly related to the massive surge in cancers and all kinds of health issues. From people to animals to plants to sea, humans are ruining this planet with chemicals. Red tides, oh screw it, I am not going into this.

Wonder how much Monsanto gives the EPA each year? Both clowns. The only ones who can regulate this stuff is the consumer. And as we have seen in this thread and in real life, the consumer is clueless. Actually that's not fair, it is getting better, the roadside veggie stands are thriving. At least the good ones are.

I do have faith in the kids these days regarding "organic" and chemicals. Most kids can see the benefits of being healthy, because they look at their parents who are the opposite of healthy. They are the future so either they will fix it or destroy it. Just glad I won't be around to deal with it.

Sorry this conversation hits close to home and I'm passionate about it.

Props Jericho for saying it like it is and having a sense of humor to go with it.

Get off your ass and do something about GMOs if that's your cause. Be proactive.

I just planted some non GMO spring rye this morning. I even got two samples of 2 other non
GMO Spring Rye cultivars from the Nordic Genetic Resource Center this past December in cold
storage.

I have to go plant 2 types of 6-row non GMO barley later next week as well.
One is from Japan and the other is from India.

So yeah, I like non GMO plants and will be adding wheat to my non GMO seed stocks sooner or later.

This is my 2 barley cultivars.

The thing is it's a 2 part problem, GMO's are sold to be used hand in hand with glyphosate, they are made by combining normal plant species with the DNA of round up resistant soil bacteria, they are relatively untested and most likely bad for your health. However the real danger is the glyphosate used on these types of plants.

Gylphosate can be used on non GMO plants and fields as well, so simply banning or labeling GMO food really won't do shit. Just because something is non GMO doesnt mean it is clean chemical free food. There is a myriad of other toxic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides used on food crops both GMO and NON GMO.

What we need to shoot for is pure, clean chemical free agriculture. We need to replace our dirty damaging system with a new clean organic earth friendly system. Plain and simple the toxic chemicals have to go and we need to seriously limit the use of GMO's so we don't comepletly lose our heirloom non GMO food crop varieties.

The only way to make the difference needed is to buy organic food, as well as being agricultural chemical free organic food is also free of chemical food additives which are equally as bad as the agricultural chemicals.

Organic is the only answer, it is full circle, it is man kind turning back to its humble beginnings. It's like we knew the answer all a long but out of our own arrogance we thought we could do better than nature.

What I don't like about GMO is people playing God with our food.
These plants can contaminate the natural seed stocks permanently
and this I don't like.

If they made GMOs all sterile they wouldn't bother me as much.

That's all.

Agree. What are you doing yourself? That's my point. Talk is cheap.

"Organic" in the scheme of the market is just a loop hole label. That is to say...the regulations are not all that tight. Trendy spin.

Home Gardening is an act of defiance...and pro active.

You know nothing about me. I have been an organic gardener for over 10 years now, I grow organic herb, I grow my own organic vegetables when the season is right, I buy 100% only organic food, I only buy farm fresh local grass fed meat, I am a staunch activist for chemical free quality food and I will tell anyone that will listen.

There is still much to be done, no one is perfect but I do the best I possibly can. I see the writing on the wall here, it is a make it or break it kind of thing. This is far beyond me or you sitting here today, the choices we make right now are going to have a serious impact on generations to come.

You however are incredibly ignorant, organic food is completely free of chemical food additives, to say it is a scheme or a trendy fad just shows your complete and total lack of understanding of the situation. It's like talking to a child, you have a complete aversion to the truth. Ignorant completely 100% ignorant. People like you do nothing but hold back progress and try to suppress the truth with lies, you are the antagonist of evolution, you are the problem not the answer.

One of the coolest guerilla gardens I've ever made was in 2006.

I grew some Cannabis and figured why not grow some tomatoes
and yellow beans as well. They were located on a mountain top.

I think I'm buying tomato plants next month to do the same.

Mountain and forest grown tomatoes. How organic is that?

What's with the tone? Of course I don't know anything about you....except that you owe me an apology.

Obviously this topic is too hot for ICMag! Thread closed...

I am sad that instead of banding together you are allowing yourselves to become divisive and argumentative. This is probably a simple reflection of the sad state of affairs that our civilization has descended into.

That being said, chaos does not rule this forum.
