The earth is getting warmer. The warming and cooling of our planet goes in cycles.

Not a whole lot that we can do about it.

Stupid is what really scares me. Stupid people frighten me.

I got more important things to worry about like surviving our dear "Community Organizer" for another 4 years.

Shit, I was gonna go "rub one off", now I got now desire.

you sure it was the d? schmoe had the sis but it was labeled as the d and passed it as the d, point is i think ape was passing the sis as the d, unknowingly i believe, or it was someone else in socal. could very well have been the d but in case you didnt know there was a well documented mix up regarding the two. just fyi.

no d or purp for me right now either. well suge's pk purps up a bit but moreso on the leaves. and i got gdp and grape ape moms but i hardly ever run them, maybe once or twice a year if that. i should just get rid of them but im a bit of a strain hoarder, i admit.

all shit aside i dont think you are a bad dude lump and sorry for callin ya a lame ass. you seem like a good dude.

I'm a strain hoarder too....only ran the d one time and it came from ape and anything can happen!

Are we having a normal conversation here? Lol... I never took any offense by anything you said. And I honestly didn't mean to offend you either. Shake hands? :)

No hard feelings here

yeah man thats the truth with clones huh? anything can happen.

hahaha e-hand shake. lol. i wasnt offended dude, i like people that stand their ground and have some conviction. theres just too many wishy washy types that just wanna be everyone's friend especially online. i used to have a well known handle and an association with a respected crew but after the constant onslaught of pm's asking for cuts and people somehow thinking they have a right to get angry if you say no to them like you owe perfect strangers shit you took the time and risk to acquire it just became a hassle.

and i aint the only one to go this route, a lot of old heads with valuable info have been driven away because of the sense of entitlement a lot of new growers have. everyone "needs" this cut or that cut, and the worst are the shit heads that hit you with the song and dance of "oh my patients could really use that cut." really? you mean its not for you to crop out and make money on? ya right. so i fly under the radar now and just laugh when someone says i got a low post count or no rep. but im not as big a dick as i might appear to be, hahaha.

but im a stickler for details and what i know has come from years of experience, not just trying to make stuff up to get rep or act like a know it all though my old lady will strongly argue the last bit. but what does she know? hahaha

anywhooo, this dab has got me ramblin. might be too early for og oil but hey its friday. time to party.

I just read a Michael Crichton book called State of Fear that basically says most of the global warming scare is garbage and laughs at the idea that scientists have such a complex situation figured out.

Urban areas covered in concrete seem to give the highest temp increases. Many areas show lower average temps, thicker ice density, etc...

Another funny point of the book: the government spent 25 billion dollars investigating if power lines caused cancer through magnetic waves...and now people buy special bracelets that make you feel better because of yes, you guessed it, increased magnetic waves.

You do know that is a action thriller novel.

Fact or cash grab? Depends who you ask. Folks on the Jersey shore and lower Manhattan might say the water is a little high for their liking.

by chance lump, you got a pic of a purple chemd? you would be the first dude. and i wanna see what part of the plant you are talking about, bud or leaves. might seem like a nitpick but it matters cuz im talking leaves. this is how we were able to id a couple chem cuts apart.

the thing about purp growers doing that is well known. i think part of the disagreement centers around your experience getting some cuts to purple in low temps and thinking all cuts will react similarly. some do it from genes, others are induced by temp but others still dont do it for either reason. they are few and far between but thats been the experience of a number of growers i know and myself. in fact i think candy chem might also be like the d. ill find out in about a month or two and let ya know.

Why is it so important? So what if someone believes Chem D can purple or not? It doesn't change the potency and other then genetic purpling growing purple plants means you are poorly managing your grow room and nutrient regimen just so people can see some purple in thier buds. So if someone wants to say a strain you know not to purple can purple under the right conditions, let them. It's like them saying, "hey I let my grow space be less then it can be just so the plants will turn purple and impress people that don't know any better."

Its not that we are harming the planet. We are, but that doesn't matter. Third Rock From The Sun can handle itself, and whatever we throw at it. We are but a blip on the screen, and the Universe will keep on spinning and expanding. It is the simple fact that we(human race) should be doing whatever it takes to keep the Earth at a level that is inhabitable for us(whom WE believe is the most important species on Earth).

The Industrial Revolution started this shit. The Koch Brothers paid for an in depth study to disprove Climate Change a few years ago. it didn't get much press, because the powers that be tried to keep it quiet. Dude was on Colbert or Stewart. After all the money the Koch bro's threw at the study, The head of the research team came back and proved it is all true, all happening, and is definitely man-made.

Climate change.....

Earlier this week,*TakePart reported on the record lows recorded*in the Earth’s dwindling Arctic ice cap coverage. The dire implications of reaching that kind of planetary milestone are obvious, but there is one consequence that could actually prove helpful to us.

BBC reports*that a 500-year old Alaskan Eskimo settlement was recently discovered eroding from under the permafrost, and it’s giving researchers the ability to study a culture that went through its own dramatic climate change centuries ago.

Researchers report that under the frozen site are the ancient ruins belonging to the Yup’ik Eskimo society. The Yup'ik were one of the last Eskimo societies to be contacted, and in their heyday, were among the*Arctic’s most powerful and well-represented cultures.*

honestly I don't know what more anyone needs for evidence. If you can't trust Berkeley College and their physics professors, the leader being a past Climate-Change skeptic, then who can we trust?

these 10 Scientists went back, reviewed ll past research and data, and they find the model to be accurate. Hardly what the Koch Bros intended when they commissioned the study, eh?

an intensive research effort involving a dozen scientists, I concluded that global warming was real and that the prior estimates of the rate of warming were correct. I’m now going a step further: Humans are almost entirely the cause.”

The Berkeley project’s research has shown, Muller says, “that the average temperature of the earth’s land has risen by 2½ degrees Fahrenheit over the past 250 years, including an increase of 1½ degrees over the most recent 50 years. Moreover, it appears likely that essentially all of this increase results from the human emission of greenhouse gases.”

He calls his current stance “a total turnaround.”

Tonya Mullins, a spokeswoman for the Koch Foundation, said the support her foundation provided, along with others, has no bearing on results of the research.

“Our grants are designed to promote independent research; as such, recipients hold full control over their findings,” Mullins said in an email. “In this support, we strive to benefit society by promoting discovery and informing public policy.”

Some leading climate scientists said Muller’s comments show that the science is so strong that even those inclined to reject it cannot once they examine it carefully.

Michael E. Mann, director of the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University, said Muller’s conversion might help shape the thinking of the “reasonable middle” of the population “who are genuinely confused and have been honestly taken in” by attacks on climate science.

On his Facebook page, Mann wrote: “There is a certain ironic satisfaction in seeing a study funded by the Koch Brothers — the greatest funders of climate change denial and disinformation on the planet — demonstrate what scientists have known with some degree of confidence for nearly two decades: that the globe is indeed warming, and that this warming can only be explained by human-caused increases in greenhouse gas concentrations. I applaud Muller and his colleagues for acting as any good scientists would, following where their analyses led them, without regard for the possible political repercussions.”

Muller’s conclusions, however, did not sway the most ardent climate contrarians, like Marc Morano, a former producer for Rush Limbaugh and former communications director for the Republicans on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
“Muller will be remembered as a befuddled professor who has yet to figure out how to separate climate science from his media antics. His latest claims provide no new insight into the climate science debate,” Morano said in an email.

Muller’s New York Times commentary follows research he did last year that confirmed the work of scientists who found that the Earth’s temperature was rising. In the past, Muller had criticized which global temperatures had been used in such research, contending that some monitoring stations provided inaccurate data. Now, Berkeley’s research has weighed in on the causes of the temperature rise, testing arguments that climate contrarians have used.

“What has caused the gradual but systematic rise of 2½ degrees?” Muller writes. “We tried fitting the shape to simple math functions (exponentials, polynomials), to solar activity and even to rising functions like world population. By far the best match was to the record of atmospheric carbon dioxide, measured from atmospheric samples and air trapped in polar ice.”

Muller asserted that his findings were “stronger” than those of the UN’s intergovernmental panel. But neither Berkeley’s research from last year nor the new findings on causality have been published in peer-reviewed journals, which has raised criticism and concerns among climatologists and contrarians alike.

Benjamin D. Santer, a climate researcher at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and a lead author of the 1995 UN climate report, said he welcomed the involvement of another research group into “detection and attribution” of climate change and its causes. But he said he found it troubling that Muller claimed such definitive results without his work undergoing peer-review.

“If you go into the public arena and claim to have generated evidence that is stronger than the IPCC, where is the detailed, scientific evidence? Has he used fundamental new data sets?” Santer said. “Publish the science and report on it after it’s done.”

He added: “I think you can do great harm to the broader debate. Imagine this scenario: that he makes these great claims and the papers arent published? This [op-ed] is in the spirit of publicity, not the spirit of science.”

Elizabeth Muller, co-founder and executive director of the Berkeley project and Richard Muller’s daughter, said the papers had been peer-reviewed, but not yet published. But because of the long lead-up to publication, she said, the Berkeley team decided to place its papers online, in part to solicit comment from other scientists. The papers were posted on the BerkeleyEarth.org website on Sunday.

“I believe the findings in our papers are too important to wait for the year or longer that it could take to complete the journal review process,” Elizabeth Muller wrote in an email. “We believe in traditional peer review; we welcome feedback [from] the public and any scientists who are interested in taking the time to make thoughtful comments. Our papers have received scrutiny by dozens of top scientists, not just the two or three that typically are called upon by journalists.”
I think maybe the "Idea" that the human race is not invincible, and might have an expiration date is to heavy for some folks, and their systen shuts the Idea down.

Thus, the concept of selfishness in this whole thing. It's got quite a lot to do with self-preservation for many people, if not all.

you say that like its a bad thing, seamaiden. obviously self preservation is at the root of it for many. do you think it was selfish of jonas salk come up with a cure for polio? he gave it away for free and your kids didnt have to live in a world where they could be bed ridden at the age of 8. self preservation, or selfishness in your world view, has motivated a lot of people to do a lot of things that have improved your world. to be fair its also done stuff to mess it up. so whats your take? just sit around and do nothing?

climate change is happening, it has happened before. north america used to be under a mile high glacier. think about that. what we need to find out is if man is playing any part in speeding up this process. and if yes, what can we do about it? and if no, what can we do about it? sitting around doing nothing is gonna get you what you already have. which is great for the mia's of the world that dont care about what kind of earth the next generation inherits.

How am I saying it like it's a bad thing? You're projecting your own ideology, ideas and 'isms' onto me. I am making the observation, that is all. If you believe that my solution is to sit around and do nothing, then you don't know much about me at all, do you?

You keep on making your assumptions, and I'll just keep on truckin'.

just making an observation. no projecting going on here. reading your posts in the thread you've said its a selfish thing multiple times. most people dont use the word selfish to describe something in a positive way so what was i left to conclude?

i never said i knew ya, did i? are you projecting now? haha seriously relax. keep on truckin and enjoy your solar power, i know i do.
