I know you were excited about chopping soon , but if you wait till they get to full maturity & have faded properly , you will be much more excited about how they are with a proper finish !

I agree on waiting. alot happens in these last weeks. lots of weight usually gets added and calyxs should swell more. wait until your plants get nice fall colors on em. then you'll know you're close. contrary to popular belief, even identical cuts can take different times in different grow rooms. it's all the little environmental conditions that add up to differences. ive learned patience is usually the answer to most grow situations and growing is never an exact by the numbers thing. it's an art and takes a feel. a couple of weeks gives you time to dial in your drying area at least...

"time is a factor in growing but not the determining factor":tiphat::)..... so we wait.....

Ime bright light through the end of flower will cause the tops getting the most light to throw white hairs even when ripe.

I have 2 4'x 8' trays gg4 true scrog at day 45, and while all the peripheral buds are maturing normal the ones getting too much light directly under the lamp are all white hairs. Happens on my og too, not so much with cookies.

Did you use a flushing agent? Coco can be stubborn giving up it's nute reserves.

no flushing agents here..... but i have ordered Z7 to add to everything..... its not a fert or booster of any kind its a root cleaner..... an enzyme cleaning product used in all stages of growth..... and it helps to relieve osmotic pressure in the root zone

Ok so reading what you guys are saying to Aspen I think I probably chopped mine too early as well. I also had a lot of hairs that were still white. Stupid question but should we be checking the trichomes and hairs instead of just checking days off a calendar to know when they are ready for harvest? I let mine go for 65 days and I didn't bother looking at the trichs.

Edit: never mind, a bunch of posts I didn't see just showed up and answered the question.

You are correct. Checking the trichomes is the only way to know for sure but she has a lot of white pistils yet and very little fade on the leaves.

The saying I was told when starting out was: If you think it's done wait two more weeks...

your also in a no till soil , shes running coco like me . after 2 weeks of plain water , she should have a nice fade going by now . which leads me to believe she has an excess of nutes built up in the coco , alot of nitrogen too because of the white hairs , lighter airy buds & why it doesn't look mature enough yet . giving it 2 more weeks on plain water will help deplete the nutes & give her a better finish .it will not be a proper run of GG4 this time , but at least she knows what to do for the next run .

It's ok... All good guys they will be fine... Maybe not top of the heep but I'm sure it will be some good smoke regardless...... The only thing was I fed them to strong.... 1.4 was to much and built up in the pots.... I have that issue addressed and next time I can rock it..... Come on this is my first run..... I was bound to have some issues....but it's still a success for me...

Yup back woods....
The one area I didn't focus on before hand was my environment.... And I knew that going in.... So I got bit in the ass by it... That will not happen again...... My invorment is now the sole focus of my grow.... My system works fantastic... I'll make some minor changes and it will be set...... I'll use the 3 gallon pots next time... I have seen the strech and will be able to better train the canopy...... And keeping my feeds at 1.2 Ec and I'll bet I can seriously blow the top off this room.... You only ever make a mistake when you don't learn from the experience....... And I have 300 pages of notes covering every aspect of this grow.....system, plants, lights, scrog, Temps and humidity for every hour of every day sense I took the first picture, I have recorded every aspect that I currently have the ability to measure... Data logging is something I do at work.... I also analize that information...... So anyone care to guess how the next run will go.......

And now more importantly I have a roadmap to follow with the gg4...from all the data I have logged. i have alot of work to do in that room.... To get the environment right.... Bear with me I'll run everything else asap..... Guys have a great night........

You'll be fine !!! & the buds from this run will be great !!! no doubt in my mind ! & as you said , we learn from mistakes , not get discouraged ! & i'm glad your running the glue again because i want to see them hand grenades like i get !!! I know you can do this ! not a doubt in my mind !!!
you've got a handle on the problems & now how to fix them , thats the most important part of learning !
genetics will always be there , you can run them at you leisure , do what YOU want to do ! :tiphat:
