Double Kindness makes lollipops/hard candy
Hi fellow icmag'ers. I frequently get asked how I make my lollipops/hard candies, and I often see people on here and other boards looking for hard candy recipes.

You can make these candies using BHO or ISO preferably. For every .5g of BHO use .7g of ISO. For every .5g of BHO you can replace it with 2.5g of hash (bubble or fullmelt, the higher the quality you put in, the better the quality of the candy). Using hash though, the finished product can be a lot more grainy textured, and not pleasant to lick, and you have to use considerably more hash vs oil I have found out by experimentation.

You can use cannabutter, but it will leave you with a flexible candy product in the end, unless you raise the temps to a toffee type recipe. I also do not like the way cannabutter candies taste, and with all the sugar used in the making of these candies, do you really want to involve butter too?

This is the recipe for roughly 24 small lollipops, which is 4 lollipop tray molds full.


Double Kindness Lollipops

2 Tablespoons water
1/2 of 1/3c corn syrup
1/2 c sugar
.6g BHO or .7g ISO
1 dram candy flavoring
pam cooking spray
lollipop sticks
candy molds
lollipop wrappers
candy thermometer

In a small pan with high sides, add the water, corn syrup and sugar together on high heat.... I can only figure out how to upload 4 thumbnail photos at a time, so this is a follow along recipe.

Put the candy thermometer in the boiling sugars, but be sure the tip of the thermometer doesn't touch the bottom of the pan. The pan I used to make these candies in these pictures is my favorite pan for this purpose, it is the right size and height to hang the candy thermometer on.

this is the one i use... Double Kindness helped me make the first batch... and a couple of You Tube videos... now me and my BFF can turn out 150 in 30 minutes.....

I prefer hersey's bars melted over double boiler and adding budder I don't like coconut then in the fridge...ahh my favorite snack

If you buy the processed coconut oil it doesn't taste like coconut. I don't like coconut either. Coconut oil binds THC much better than butter and is healthier for you as well. You won't use butter again.

I keep a bottle of processed coconut oil loaded up in the kitchen at all times..... add it to everything cooked when im in that kind of mood.... no taste and it's easy to cook with... Olive oil jazzed up some works for cooking most things..... Use the oil when you grill fish.... trust me......Wowzers... and for oil and vinegar on a salad for lunch.... yea that's how i get down.... I like a high potency oil so it doesn't take much to get the desired effect... like when i grill fish ill brush the skin side with some and add spices then right on the grill.... brush a few more times while cooking and re season, Flip and repeat

not to beat a topic to death but edibles, really appetizing edibles, are interesting to me.

I'm curious if there is a fair common approach used in terms of the amount of trim or bud to a given amount of butter/oil, how long to extract, decarboxylate, etc.

I've focused on the approaches used by Shiskaboy and by Terpene, because I'm familiar with and have high respect for their grow entries and their cooking threads. They significantlty different from each other in terms of amounts used and in their appraoch but they both seem to work out pretty good

Despite those differences, they can make some really nice treats. I've had Terpene's toffee made with Zamadelica x Ethiopian I believe. There was no pot taste at all not sure if that's from the repeat leeching, the added cinnamon or what but it was damn good.

It's the kind of edible that tastes too good for it's own good because it's hard not to eat it like a candy, meaning keep eating it until its gone (we have no id control in my house).

In both of those approaches, they stew the butter and cannabis for a long time, then they treat to flush out the plant matter and bad taste.

He uses an approach he says they use in India to make Bhang,, melted cannabutter mixed with milk. He leaches out the bad taste using water changes over a couple to three days, then he adds the cannabis to the butter/ghee for extraction.

Does anyone here use that approach?

Our first attempt at making edibles used my mom's fudge recipe (same one as is on the jars of marshmallow cream that it is made with). It tasted great, like normal fudge with a slight cinnamon flavor to it. We used Terpene's recipe but our concentration was a little light

Ona I make BHO and then infuse the oils, I do budder the same way..... Or rosin.... Never any plant materials.... Or iso...... Lol its just cleaner and I try to keep concentrates on hand, so oils or budder takes about 30 minutes to infuse...

It's all good Ona post away those are some good threads.... It really isn't hard to use canna in cooking if you cook.... I've made pesto, dips, soups, salad dressing the trick is to know how strong your oil is, I always test a teaspoon of the oils to see just how potent it is while im more less sober.... Basicly anything you add some oil to had the potential to be medicated... I'm also known for having dinner guest pass the fuck out and end up staying the night..... It's funny as hell when I walk in the house and see that someone has been grazing in my kitchen with out asking what is or isn't medacated...... Espically non smokers.....for example a girl at work walked by my desk and snagged 3 of my watermelon bars .... They found her 5 hours later in the bathroom passed out.....oops she shouldn't have been stealing candy off my desk..... Right.... Then a bunch of people started acting like I did something to her fat ass...... Nope..... She got greedy ate all 3 at once and paid the Price

Ok, sorry if I took that too far Aspen. I know you make edibles so I thought it would ok to go into

My edibles never taste like weed. I use processed coconut oil on a double boiler. I decarb first then grind fine. I use about an oz of good trim to a quart of oil. I usually cook it about 2 hours then let it sit overnight then another hour or so the next day then strain and use.


I have a friend that makes his oil directly in a pan instead of double boiler and his always tastes like weed. Doesn't take as long to extract but it extracts a lot of weed taste that way also.

Nope i at the hotel now..... and still drunk and high.... not wasted like a few of my friends but feeling no pain....... Our designated driver passed out when she got to the car..... and everyone looked at me..... nope f that I'm not driving several hours after partying all damn day..... I weigh 115 soaking wet and have been drinking Vodka and Cranberry Apple mixed 60 40 heavy on the vodka side sense the stroke of noon...... just sipping all day maintaining a great buzz..... was out by the pool till the show started.... AMAZING SHOW.....
