True, but Pine Sol is just a starting point, be creative. I've been running an air pump through a bucket with maybe a 1/4 -1/3 cup of the sparkling wave Pine Sol, replaced about every 2 days. Lmao, it can take care of the hallway, but the grow room itself is another story. BOG will not be denied.

But that smell is starting to piss me off. Think I might try Simple Green when this stuff runs out.

As for the suds, run a fan over the bucket. Cuts down the overflow and helps spread the odor fighting goodness. :joint:

Absolutely great (and cheap idea). Fuck 3 bills plus 50 dollar refills for a Vaportek, unless you've got a commercial setup where cashflow and sercurity make it worthwhile.

I clean with pine sol ( original scent) but i actually like the smell of it so it doesnst bother me. I have smelt the flavored ones and am not fond of them at all. I stick with the original. But as far as cost and effectiveness it cant be beat. i have sour d, strawberry d , sour slut, lisa marie, williams wonder, sage and dream goddess going and they all stink. But all i smell is pinesol and thats it. when i had my grow here i had it in a closet and my girl would be in the same room as the closet the whole night and never knew there was a grow in there. So thats effective!

Hi, I remember reading somewhere that Pinesol fumes are dangerous to domestic animals; Like, it causes respitory problems or something. Can someone further emphasize on this?

according to the "household products database", Pinesol carries the following warning right on its label ...

"eye and skin irritant. harmful if swallowed. avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact. avoid contact with food ... ".

this is enough to scare me off . I love the idea of running a deodoriser through a fountain thingy, but i will be looking for something less harmful . i tried lemon juice but didnt notice any smell at all . anybody had success with anything else ?

Ona block works great for me. One right on my exaust. Its good for a closet grow, but something larger would need quite a bit more Ona. Im going to give this Pinesol idea a try, I already have one of those waterfall things so it can't hurt. Right now im using a plug in air freshener to improve the smell even more.. but pinesol would be so much cheaper if it does the job.

Ozone is the best if your going to be venting outside. Expensive initially though.

I think a much safer bet is ONA liquid concentrate. I think a quart of this concentrate should last quite a while if diluted properly. I believe a quart cost like 16 bucks or so and a gallon cost like 25. ONA uses 31+ non-toxic plant oils (like vaportek), so there shouldnt be any health concerns when using ONA (or vaportek) products.

I was thinking Febreeze :) ... I Love the smell of febreeze and i dont think anyone would be suspicious if your house always smelled like febreeze.
Where the pine-sol might cause people to become suspicious after repeatedly smelling it all the time, Especially if your not a clean freak.
If someone walks into your house and you have dishes in the sink and you havent mopped the floors in days there gonna wonder why the house always smells like pine-sol and looks like a dorm room. Thats just me though, it's a great idea but suited for certian grows.

I clean almost daily so the smell of pinesol isnt out of the ordinary for my place to begin with. It works for me and no my girl never says anything about the smell of pinesol. So if she were to say something about the smell of pinesol it could be easily explained. I can say i cleaned the bathroom. Hence the smell. Plus i pour pinesol in my toilet from time to time anyway . So it always smells like it here

If I don't build a DIY scrubber I'm going to go with this method. I'm going to have some stinky plants and I'm going to need odor control. I still got plants building a scrubber for my cab but things don't always work out like you want them to. I might have to go the cheaper route.

So yesterday i was reading a post by Sun sim. He said for odor control he used a bucket filled with pinesol and an air stone in it and it takes care of odor. i was a bit skeptical so i looked around my place to see what i had. I always have pine sol , for cleaning.

I looked in a closet where i keep old things and i found one of those mini waterfalls that you get at the mall for $20. It's 12 inches high and you put water in the back and turn it on and its a waterfall. Its powered by a little pump. So i decided to fill it up with pine sol and give it a try. well I'll be damed, it works like a fucking charm!! I know have a pinesol waterfall outside my grow room and i cant smell a thing. And i have some stinkers in there ( Sour D, Strawberry D, Sour slut, williams wonder and more)

I was surprised how well it works and wanted to share that with you guys here. Hope it helps

now that is priceless, many thanks!! :D

The waterfall is actually something i had sitting around, i dont think everyone should run out and get waterfalls. An airstone and a bucket of water wrok just fine. You are welcome though, but the ture thanks goes to Sun Sim. He told me about it , i just posted it.

An interesting idea, but I run in an outdoor shed. The constant odor of Pinesol leaking from my shed into the neighboring yards would throw up some red flags, methinks. My Can33 has never failed me yet, got a new one for this grow season. Yes, a bit pricey, but there is absolutely *no odor* just the smell of the wood walls of the shed. And I've run the Rez ECSD in there, so it definitely passed the test on odor control. Also, the recirculation of Pinesol fumes throughout my grow concerns me as well. But, whatever works for ya!

Peace...

In a shed it would be weird, agreed. Noone should have smell of pine sol outdoors so i understand what you mean. I dont have the pinesol inside of the room. Its actually a few feet outside the room. I dont think i woul dwant pine sol in the room with my plants as well

I have 5 northern lights growing in my office closet.. They are 4 weeks old and smell almost sickenly sweet.. Its sort of pleasant but reminds me of a funeral home sort of.. lol.. I close the door at night and each morning I am greeted with this very sweet smell when I open the door.. I live in a house with my g/f and we dont have many visitors but eventually the smell will be an issue I guess.. So far my g/f hasnt complained..

I'm also growing some basil and thyme in with my plants.. will be interesting to see which odors win out in the long run.

Hey nevermind...it's been awhile since you rigged this up, and I was wondering if it's still working.

I haven't read through the complete thread...but I assumed it was.

I rigged up somethin g similar awhile back, with an air stone bar in a jar of pinesol. Worked like a charm for a couple of days...then the air stone was gone. I used pure pinsol, and it disinigrated the airstone.

Maybe I should rig something up again, but cut it with water.

Cheers,
SH

I live in a small apartment, i have about 25 total plants. I have never noticed the smell to be too bad but visitors always comment on it right when they walk in the door. My parents are coming to visit. I was wondering if the pinesol smell would be kinda obvious that i was covering shit up. does the pinesol bubble up like soap does? has anyone ever used Fabiloso the purple mexican stuff? i use it for cleaning around the house it has a very strong smell that i believe to be a lil more plesent than pinesol. i plan on lighting a shit load of candles and putting shit in the sink to make it look like i just moped the place to help explain the super clean smell. but i guess my main question is does the pinesol bubble up?
