Getting bullied= Commiting S*icide?

Your way of talking about this seems a bit detached. I bet my ass that your "shit happens" illusion would be shattered if your daughter really did kill herself? Maybe you would wake up to the fact that actions has consequences, you keep talking this bullshit about how there is only the present moment. Would you have asked yourself if there was something you could have done to stop it if she had succeeded, if not, then thats not normal! It appears to me that are somewhat detatched from reality and that your lack of empathy and "presence" in the world that the rest of us seems to share may be reason enough why your girl would want to kill herself. Maybe she is testing to see if you really care, or if you will just shrug and go "shit happens".

Shit happens for a reason, always for a reason! It goes like this, Action --> REACTION!!! Your girl attempts suicide and you dont react, how would you think that feels? I think you have some issues man, seriously!

...I appreciate your opinion, but please be aware that you can only
truly know if you "yourself" feel massive empathy for other people.
As far as I know, humans can only feel what they feel themselves
and are not able to feel what others feel.

...A part of me, that used to look at the world through the lens of
delusion might have felt something, but that part is fading away
on a moment to moment basis.

...I can see the truth now, and I see that everything happens by
itself in the universe, and that is why there is a famous saying...

The Universe is Perfect, intervine at your own peril.

I don't look at things that are "happening" through the filter of my
thoughts, ego, internal dialogue, opinions, beliefs, convictions, or
anything else, I simply observe without "attachments and
identification" to the words that are still a part of my ego that is
slowly falling apart and becoming like the dust in the wind.

I don't observe the words, I observe where the words are pointing,
and if the words are pointing toward something that is false,
something that is not there, then I point it out, but this is only
once in a while, and only in this forum. I wouldn't say these things
in the real world, because people would think I'm crazy

...and there is no "reason" why something happens...it just happens.

This action-->> reaction theory is something that only works in the
dream world, where the blind are leading the blind, and where the
one-eye fool is king...lol

i will kick your internet ass LOL

Oh no, please big-bad internet bully stop it, I can't click my mouse
and navigate from this page...because shit happens and I have
no free will, just like this crazy "southflorida" SMF is saying...

...guess I'm just gonna have to do whatever the universe wants :blowbubbles:
and see how deep the rabbit hole really is -- for myself!

cyber bullying, are you kidding me some people are such pussies.

That's how I feel. Cyber bullying? LOL.

Then one day the world smacks them in the face and they learn real quick that smoke blown up their ass by soft adults hasn't prepared them for anything.

:joint:

Kids today aren't raised to deal with the real world. The real world sucks. It's hard. Always has been. In fact it used to be a lot harder. Instead of worrying about iPhones, kids use to worry about helping in the fields so they could eat dinner.

It's a shame the kid killed himself. What the two people did was really fucked up, but there is no way they should be considered complicit in his death. They invaded his privacy. That's it.

He is the only one who made the choice to jump off the bridge instead of dealing with who he was. I have no pity for people who kill themselves. They are weak minded. Life sucks sometimes for everyone. I was bullied plenty when I was younger. I channeled that energy into lifting weights and other sports activities. Get big enough and people won't bully you. :)

I can hear the chorus of nanny state already wanting to regulate "cyber bullying."

Yep.

The whole cyber-bullying crutch, perfect example of the "nothing is your fault, everybody wins" philosophy of the pc world we live in.

While I do feel badly about the lad that killed himself, Darwin has struck, and will continue to do so, despite some of our elected officials best efforts to 'protect' us, yet again.

How about his parents? Do they have any culpability in any of this for failing the kid?

Feeling that suicide was his only option seems as though his emotional toolbag was extremely lacking...who's fault is that?

Extenuating circumastances aside, this was an extreme response.

elected officials? best efforts? read what the ellected officials
have been doing, not only currently, but also for a very, very
long time, and this is by a serious dude that wasn't searching
for this shit when he started

I have not read the whole thread, just trying to give the OP an answer to the question why suicide seems to be an option for the younger generation. Being part of that generation, I feel like being able to answer it properly. I will try to put this across in a language that is foreign to me, so don't be too judgemental if anything does not make perfect sense ;)

What makes suicide an option for my generation is the lack of perspectives. I mean, we have to go to school or college until some of us are 30 in order to live the life we want to live. Not attending college equals having a seriously BADLY payed job, at least where I live. In most cases, it's not even enough to feed a family. So failing in school means failing in life. In conclusion, some of us are going to have to work in jobs they are going to HATE. I for example would love to work as a gardener, but having family plans, I just can't afford taking that path. I am in the lucky situation to study something that I am very passionate about, but most of us are not in that happy spot. Making good money means to pay half of it to the Government. Then again - why should we even bother? Ressources are becoming more and more rare, water and oil will be gone in like what? 50 years? Great perspective. As medicine develops further and further, old people are getting outrageously old. Who will have to pay their rents? Us. We would love to have kids, but at this point, it's not as easy as it used to be. First of all, as stated before, we are not able to feed children until we are very old. My mum was 21 when she got me. At 21, I will have NOTHING achieved in life, still attending college. And even if we were able to feed the children: do we really want to live them in a world like this, especially when considering the excpected development of it?
Then we have corrupt politics, lobbyism, the food industry betraying us, seriously... who are we supposed to trust?

Now put all of that together and imagine not being clear about your sexuality and being bullied by random jerks. I bet suicide will sound like an option.

Sorry if this is a confusing read, I was randomly putting things that bother me about this world and society together.

Hope I could clear things up a bit.

Thanks GutGegeben for sharing your point of view. It is important to get a Youth's perspective when examining this tough issue.

You're welcome. I wish I was able to express myself better, because I think it could be life saving for some to raise awareness of the topic. But yeah, I did my best and I hope it helps understanding the view of my generation.

By the way, if that helps: I am not close to having suicidal thoughts, I am very happy about my life and how things are going. I have a very stable social environment, I attend college, I am popular at college, financial issues luckily haven't been a problem for years and will never be again, my family is and has always been great... So yeah, that's the view of a young person who is doing well in life. I can only imagine how depressing this world must be for someone who has not been as lucky as me. I really can feel the poor guy. I hope that, wherever he is, he is happy now.

Thanks for you post. But, there is one thing I like to point out. There
is no such thing as a "reason" -- or a combination of reasons. Every
mind works differently, and we all have different perspectives.

The brain has almost a trillion brain cells. It has been proven beyond
a shadow of a doubt through experiments that people have different
associations about the most common things like money, sex, love,
job, food, etc...etc...etc

This means every human being is a totally unique person...period.

So, the reason why the first human being on this planet took his
life and the reason a person that is taking his life at this present
moment is 100% unique. Even people in cults, they each have a
unique perspective and a unique reason why they drink the laced
Kool-Aid. This is simply a scientific fact, based on the structure
of our brains and the associations each brain makes in the
present moment.

This is a search that will not provide an answer that is logical and
makes common sense, it can only provide many different opinions.

Suicide is not different from anything else in our lives. The structure
is the same. A trillion brain cells, that are confused more and more
on a daily basis from the information overload...and obvioulsy the
computerization of the planet is not helping any...

Point made and concurred, I guess. Thanks for clearing this up!
I do realize what you are pointing at. It's not like ''this guy bullied me, I'm gonna kill myself.'' This might be a trigger, the last spark that was needed to set the whole ship on fire, but not a ''reason''. It's the situation, not a particular event, and how he (or his brain, to be more specific) responded to.

The OP asked why suicide seems to be an option for the younger generation. After having a lot of intense discussions with close friends of mine and other people I don't really know as well, I have come to the conclusion that there are some issues that our whole generation is aware of and that bothers each and everyone of us - besides the very hedonistic individuals maybe. I was just trying to give a more or less in depth look of what exactly disturbs most of the young people I know.

I hope this post does not appear to be attacking or something, I really appreciated you clearing this up. I just wanted to ask the OPs question, that's about it.

Have a good night sir!

That's just about the dumbest advice that could be given. Fights are absolutely nothing like that, you can't reason out some stupid plans before hand. Your advice would just get the poor kid destroyed.

not true. most bullies are pussies taking there emotions out on others.

This is the third time I have said this and I will say it once more to you because of you comment. Humans are just complex animals. If one Alpha male lets another male dominates and control him, and keeps him in fear, and will shape his entire life. So you can chose from a life of being a sheepish bitch, or take a three day school suspension, and public disturbance ticket. A small kid usually wont get charged with assault when defending their self. I didnt, but even if I did who the fuck cares if you get a misdemeanor as a minor.

As for the violence I did it, basically. I weighed like a 100 in high school, And I dont generally condone violence, but at a certain point enough is enough. I had another bully me once or twice in an art class of all places. We had been working on sculpture on different places and there was no supervision. The guys had been pushing me around, and calling me names. One day I had enough and I got mad and whooped his ass just like that, then put an exacto knife on his throat and made him cry like a bitch. a few years later we were friends. after he got over the initial shock and injury he though it was pretty "balls to the wall". He respected me after that, shit we still talk on face book.

The point is go for the soft spots like the throat, knee caps, groin, armpits; if your small there is no rules. It is CALLED SELF DEFENSE. After that make sure you scare them so bad that they piss themselves. It is not fighting when you are trying to keep your confidence and lunch money and there is nothing wrong with it. Also it sucks to ever have to do it, but the picking on will stop.

ok here is how you do it step by step.
1.The bully walks up to start his usually shit, you dont flinch, you look him in the eye, and say nothing.

2.As soon as he is in striking distance swing, or kick for the softest pressure point, joint spot on the person. If you are a person that they usually dominate then they will not be ready to defend what so ever.

3.Then you dont stop beating the fuck out of them until they are crying tears of fear, pain and submission. or blacked out.

Even if the kids loses and gets his ass kick at least he tried, and can have some self respect. Also once you get beat up once it isnt so scary the next time. By that age though I had already had the shit beat out of me by a grown adult male (ex step dad) more times than I can count, so I wasn't exactly scared of losing. It was more of a matter of being fed up. By the way I was never picked on again once after that. Also, I have never even been in what most would consider a real fight, just a quick action

bullsh*t... people who have never been bullied as a child can be bullied as a adult.. ive seen it happen and the bullies are usually people in a boss/supervisors position and rule by fear .
it's disgusting.

^Most healthy kids fully develop there base personality by age 6. at one point in their early child hood before they were 6 years old, they decided to be submissive to someone that they didnt have to be submissive too. usually another kid.

After that you have to make a conscious to change on a daily bases.

...you don't have to call me sir, we are equals, it does not matter how
old, or young we are!

...and your post in no way an "attacking post" in fact it is at the
opposite end of the spectrum...lol

...it is important that you wrote what you wrote, and explained how
you associate things in your thinking, and what is important to you
in life, what you think about, and this information helps to see that
the "losers" that run our societies...are not humans, but are...imo...
f*cking aliens or something...lol

At least that is how they treat people, as if we are just meat, and
they can choose who will die and who will live, and it is not only
other people from other countries, but their own people that they
give an oath to protect and do the best that they can do to
make their lives better.

...while in reality it is all BULLSHIT, from the start and to the finish,
if there ever will ever be one.

No one is going to take care of us, this is the cold-hard-and-brutal
reality, we have to learn to take care of ourselves, it is the only
path that leads to freedom.

And, IMHO, if we are going to die, than at least it should be in a
fight for what we think is important, and what can be more
important than true freedom?

...this is defintely a better approach than surrendering to a bully,
and without a doubt should be taught in scool to all kids, including
the bullies themselves. Have a like a Kick-A-Bullies-Ass class, or
something...lol

Isn't it strange that in school they teach you the stupidest shit
that you will never, ever use, and never teach you one f*cking
thing that you can use in life?

If it seems strange it is not, they are are making machines out
of you, so they can use the shit out of you, as in cheap labor,
and then throw you a few bucks when you retire.

This is the reality for 98% of the people in the world...by the way!

But since the majority of folks are asleep, mostly because they are
hypnotyzed by 12 years of school, and all the shit they put in your
brain, these government bastards get away with "slavery" that is
made to look like you made a choice in life...lol

...yeah right, the only folks that actually choose, are the ones that
take their lives and commit suicide, and this is why if they fail and
are caught they are given a fine and go to jail for six months.

...because they wanted to break free from the "slave-masters"
and have to be punished...lol

It's definitely the internet that is at the heart of all the recent talk about bullying. It's gotten so bad that teachers are now required reporters of bullying the same way that they are for child abuse or neglect.

The reason for this is that old-school bullying meant you got jumped on your way to or from school. But then it was over. Nowadays, it goes on all night long and all weekend through the internet and especially social networking sites.

Now, it is ALSO true that children these days are consulted about their opinions about everything and they think that every little thought or feeling they have should change the world around them. They are trained by parents and society, (and thus in school) that they are the center of the world and that everything revolve around them. Still, I do NOT think that this issue is really related to bullying. The bullying that goes on these days is very extreme. Children post nude photos of one another, whether photoshopped or not, for instance. And once something is out there, it is out there for good.

Of course, if parents didn't tolerate these kinds of behavior when the children were young, and parents supervised their children, and put education no. 1, then children wouldn't have the time or inclination to do these things to one another b/c they would

1. Be busy doing their school work.
2. Know how to behave and be polite.
3. Wouldn't have ample opportunity to do whatever they want.
4. Would know that they can't just do whatever they want.

I wouldn't want to be a kid these days.
