Gene Traders Ludlow Mass Sunday Jan 14th

^^ OGDW certainly has a lot of impressive gear.

Yeah he does. I'll admit i'm not even that great of a grower, but even with my lack of skills, the bud looks incredible. When i went to the Gene Traders event i figured i would go right to him, because he's been growing great weed indoors and outdoor on this forum for quite a long time. He definitely knows what he's doing and him and Chunkypig are the guys to go to for clones at those events imo. Unfortunately Chunk isn't around here anymore but there are some people with his gear around.

But $30 a clone from Og, i figured why not at that price and i'm glad i grabbed all of his strains when i was there, because they turned out great. He also used stuff on them to make sure you get no bugs or transfer any and he grows the clones out to the point they are basically small plants already.

I'm not saying there aren't other good traders out there, but he's on the good ones for sure.

Here is a pic of the Mendo Breath that Overgrowdaworld hooked me up with. It's pure dark purple and looks incredible. It's on day 58 of flowering, and will be harvested within the next 5-7 days.

The Mendo Breath is an impressive plant.
I just made Electric Funeral using the MB as the mother.
MendoBreath x (GG4 x SSSDH) testers are now above soil and in veg.
Cant wait to taste the sour skunky funk they put out, with that beautiful purple color. :woohoo:

Yeah, it's very impressive. It's the first plant that really "wowed" me visually. It seems pretty easy to grow and non-finicky as well. It clones easily, just like the GG4.

That cross sounds amazing. I'll definitely be picking some up when they are available.

I got a question for everybody:

What's the consensus on flushing? Most people seem to do it but some not. Also, how long do you flush for, what's your method and what (if any) additives do you use (clearing solutions, molasses, humc acids, sugars, etc.)

Thanks a lot!

The reason i ask is because i should start flushing now if i should and i know almost nothing other than you use water to leach nutrients from the plant.

Just water feedings for a week or 2. You can add molasses to water if you want. If grown organic like me then flush isn't need but I still do a week or so.

Ok thanks. I'm growing in organic soil, but i use gh flora micro, gh flora bloom, Armor Si, Floralicious Plus, Diamond Nectar, Liquid Kool Bloom, Mykos when i transplant, CaliMagic but i don't really use it due to my hard tap water, earthworm castings occasionally, blackstrap molasses, and epsom salt occasionally. So yeah, i have a lot of chem ferts and i am pretty aggressive with the feeding.

So i'm thinking today i will feed them just water w/ 1/2 tsp of molasses per gallon of water, then just water for the two feedings after that and then harvest. That sound good?

Will i lose yield compared to if i kept using ferts btw? Just wondering because i know flushing increases taste/smell/quality.

ok,.they have been in 12/12 for 63 days and most say they flower in 9-10 weeks. Yet when i checcked all of them, a good amount of them aren't even full milky yet. Some have quite a few clear triches. They still seem to be putting on weight too so i'm a little confused lol.

This is kind of random, but my mother plants have been in veg for a little over a month and they are looking mostly nice and bushy but i am finding leaf problems that look the same on all 5 mothers i have at the moment. They have been in Fox Farm Ocean Forest + about 25-30% perlite for their whole life and i have only fed them plain tap water. My tap water is very hard, though the PH is right around where it should be for soil (6.5-6.8 or so).

Anyways, i took some pics of the leaves i plucked off that are having issues and i am wondering if anyone can identify what is going on. I have looked up plant defiency/toxicity guides but i couldn't find anything that looked exactly like what is going on with my leaves. Here is a pic:

Also, i am harvesting all the clones i got from overgrowdaworld today. I let them all go 70 days in flowering. My yields for a 1000w light are not going to be good at all, infact i'm only expecting 8 oz. or so, and it's because of my fuckups. My tap water is very hard an i think i may have overfed them, which i know can drastically effect yield. Also, i let them veg WAY too long while i was trying to root clones to make mothers which eventually i did, but they grew too tall and i did not do much training once they started to get too tall. I can go on and on why i think my yield sucked, though the quality of the weed is amazing.

Anyways, what type of grow would you guys suggest for a 5 x 5 flowering tent and a 1000w a/c mh/hps system? This time i planned on going 3 rows of 3, though one clone i got from a friend died so i ended up with 8. Should i do 3 rows of 3 next time or is it better to do a sog, etc.?

I am planning on going hydro if that's a good move? What would you guys suggest for a hydro setup with the 5x5 tent and 1000w hps i mentioned above? I don't have any hydro experience so far, so what would be recommended for a beginner hydro system that isn't too expensive (like 500-600 dollars or less). I've looked at 4 x 4 tables, but i don't know if those are for more experienced hydro growers or not? Basically there are just too many options lol and it's confusing as to what exactly to go with.

Basically, if you had a 5 x 5 tent and 1000w hps, what grow system and grow style would you use to get good quality but also good enough yield?

I appreciate any help, because i'm getting a headache looking at all the options and just need some guidance. I know even in soil i should be able to yield minimum double that, and i need to hone my skills and learn so i can pull a decent amount per harvest. Electricity is expensive as is equipment, so while i know most people don't think yield is important and i agree for the most part, the more i pull the more i'm getting my moneys worth per grow.

I'm planning on switching to one of the dimmable digital ballasts too to save on electricity, because i don't need anywhere near 1000w during the veg cycle so i'm thinking i can probably dim down to 400-600w during veg, and 600-750w during the first 3-4 weeks of flowering and THEN go to 1000w which will save me quite a bit on electricity, though i haven't done the exact math. I think an R/O system would be a good investment for me also, though i don't know how hard they are to install and if you have to have plumbing knowledge or not. Maybe someone could clue me in on that if possible.

Thanks for any help, i greatly appreciate it. I've been growing for 12-13 years, but i have always just done normal soil grows so there is just so much i need to learn. I should of probably learned a lot of this from other people, but for all those years it was illegal i didn't want to tell anyone because of the risks involved. Now, i have the freedom to actually meet and learn from people like you guys and i don't feel so paranoid, which is cool.

I will definitely say that i have never had weed that is so good before. Elite clones are obviously the way to go, and even a small bud i tried of the GG4 that fell off the plant tasted amazing. The smell and taste are very unique, almost like a peppery, fuely type of smell and taste that is right up my ally. The SLG smells like sweet lemon candy and i can't wait to sample that as well. I have sampled the Blue Dream also which is very nice, though so far the GG4 is my favorite. Can't wait to see what my C-Bananas and Mendo Breath are like also. I will take some pics when the bud is dry and a smoke report on all of the different strains once they are cured.

Again, thanks to overgrow for supplying me with elite genetics and really helping me out.

Those look amazing. When and where are the next clones available?

i think the yield is going to be better than i thought after weighing some of the wet buds. I'm guessing now about 11-12 oz.

Trimming by hand is such a fucking pain in the ass lol. I am slow, and i like to really trim them good so it's taking me 3-4 hours per plant...

I wish i had a trimmer/trimming machine. It would be awesome if someplace would rent out trimming machines or something.

It's like the most boring job ever lol. I want to bash my head against the wall lol.

I used to feel the same way...
Now I dry trim, and only trim what I need, so never more than a few grams to an Oz at a time. No more manic trim days, better products.

Yeah, i wasn't sure if i should wet trim or dry trim. I know opinions on the matter differ, but i've always wet trimmed so i just figured i'd go that route, but because the plants grew way too tall because i vegged them for too long, they each have like 5-6 medium sized dense colas, but the rest is almost all popcorn buds or smaller buds and it's such a pain in the ass trying to trim them one by one.

Does anyone have experience with bowl trimmers? They seem to be the cheapest option, but i don't know if there are any better options out there for a decent price? Some day i'd like to be able to buy a nice trimming machine, but for now i'm hoping there is something for a few hundred bucks or less that can get the job done. I'm only going to be harvesting probably a pound or so my next couple grows, so i don't need anything crazy.

Dry trim for the win. I have no experience with bowl trimmers other than seeing a lot of wasted trichs. Why not save the popcorn for a bubble run or to make some dry sift?

just curious on dry trimming - do you take the fan leaves off when you harvest (wet)? Or do you just hang the whole plant untouched for a week and then start trimming?

I dry trim as I find it easier and also think it is better to help slow the dry down a bit for added smell and flavor. Personally I pull all big fans wet when I am cutting the plants down only leaving leaves with some frost. Indoor the big fan leaves don't usually make it to the end as I pluck them for better light penetration. Good luck :tiphat:

Whole plant hung in the dark with no leaves removed 62 degrees and 55% humidity with a lite breeze for 14 days

Who's going to the Harvest Cup In Worcester this weekend?

https://theharvestcup.org

I won't have a booth but there's a shit ton of seed vendors listed.

There may be a bit of clone vending there behind the scenes if you will...

They say no cannabis sold or consumed on the premises but that didn't stop everyone last year....

Didn't even know this was happening this year. Definitely gonna try to get there Sunday for some seed shopping. It worked out well for me last year, wish you were gonna be there again Chunky.
