GAVITA Pro 1000 DE

Can I chime in.
From my experiences since I have room running with 2-4x8 beds pushed in the middle on castors so I can push them to the outside when needed.
The only problem when they are pushed in the middle is if your running a variety of strains the lights are at different heights and dont give you the same spread. If you can get everything close to the same height its probably the best option.

It should also work well lining the 2 middle walls with orca and there shouldnt be much light loss and more flexibility so you can isolate the strains with similar height.

So you have added 2 walls, why? Two more wall that give you light losses. I would keep the tables in the middle and have only 2 reflective walls around them, and the paths on the outer perimeter instead of the center. Much easier to light plus you have the added affect of all lights overlapping. Plus 50% less losses on your walls.

Well putting them in the middle would not be practical as I only have a little over 3 feet of space down the middle....so I figured instead of lighting the walkway I would reflect the light back with reflectix walls. While it may not be the BEST optio. Its most practical. If I put the tables in the middle I have 1.5 feet of space to work in around the outside edges. If I put them against 1 wall it wouldnt work either as I hand water and wouldn't be able to reach my water wand 8 feet in. So basically my question is the same....not how I can rearrange everything, but simply how its best to orient my lights for my situation.

Hey wazzup,
I've been hearing and seeing (youtube) that the bulb needs to be at a high temperature or it wont run perfectly. So I'm wondering, what is that temperature?

Optimal lighting and practical rooms can go together. It can make a huge difference.

Samba: about 500 Celsius, max temperature is around 700. That doesn't say a lot about the infrared though, the plasma light source is over 10 times hotter and the light is cool. It also depends on the size of the source. The 1000 DE arc tube is quite small.

So what is the difference in application beteen the 600w and 1000w pro lights. Is the 1000 dimmed down to 600 as good as the 600? Does it harm the bulb? Does room size dictate what size lights one should use? I am going to be growing in a 10x10 room. I am thinking of starting out with the lep300 + 2 600w fixtures. Or should I run the
1000w w/ the lep? I understand these are a bit different than regular hps. Ceiling height will likely be 7.5"
Would 4 1000w + 4 LEP in a 10x10 be overkill? What would the difference be between that and 6 600w + 4 LEP? Is a 2ton mini split adequate to cool all this and dehumidier w/ scrubbing fan?
The difference between 1000 + and 600 basicaly plant count or ceiling height? Would a room like this be difficult to operate without a seperate room for Air control to vent back and forth? I would like to go with gavitas Just dont know if its right for me.

What about using panda film on pvc frames that can move or put wheels under the table so you can just put it back under the lights in the corner when not watering.

How about 1 product related question at a time mliokv48 and a bit more reading ;)

Dimming HPS is never efficient, you lose efficiency. You need more distance with 1000W to be axle to spread the light without over saturating your crop. More smaller lamps in most cases give you more uniformity, but the difference is not big, specifically when compared to the really bad uniformity most growers are used to and very happy with.

Divide ppf by surface in square meters, subtract 5-10% for wall losses and you have ppfd, which IMHO should be about 1000 umol m-2 s-1. Or the other way around for an indication of what you need: take the square meters and multiply by about 1050, so you know how many micromoles you need to light your room. Then see what fixtures you need. Read the whitepaper about plasma and HPS for the info about mixing these two.

I don't have any experience with panda foil. There are many creative ways to make a screen. Most work.

Well I just read through 17 pages to and was hoping that I would find a grow with some data on yields but no. Am I going to get similar results in yield with a 600 Gavita compared to a 1000 Watt Hortilux? Is the hype really real? I will be running a test comparing 2 gavitas and 2 Hortilux's to get to the bottom of this soon. I just have to know what's up! Any data on yields would be very nice!

The hype is real if you are an expert. As with anything, purchasing a Ferrari, won't make you an amazing racer. But , in the right hand , having the best tools can take you to yields you never thought were attainable. I'm won't tell you how insane my last yield was with the 1000w gavitas. You wouldn't believe me. let's just say, the people that know told me I needed Guinness or ripleys to certify the results because they have never heard or seen such huge yields.

It's just really weird that people who originally bought them, got rid of them already. Very strange if the lights are so special.

I'll post up some data with pics in the next few days/weeks as I chop and dry.

Four ladies under a 600 coming down on day 77 and it will be at least 2 lbs. Won't be surprised to see 2.5.

This is with four different clones.

What did people switch to, did they say why they went another route, members of the forum or friends of yours?

Yes, I'm curious as well. I'm on multiple forums and have never seen mention of someone dumping their Gat's

The only thing I can think of is they were getting pissed at their plants burning up because they didn't have the proper head room.

I was kinda of pissed after I burnt up a few crops(was documented on here, ask anyone in the "nights or the round table" thread, they all seen it).

Once I gave in to the fact that with my headroom and my style(big plants) I couldn't run them at 1150 I started to witness amazing things. Namely 2+ harvests with 600 watts.

Like I said earlier I grow 4 plants per light. Got this idea from Adrift so all credit to him for getting me started.

Here is what a 10 zip True OG looks like. Behind it is a 10 zip SFVxChemdog.

In that pic I had already pulled 2 ADawgs that had to come down early due to nanners poppin and admittedly they only gave up 14 zips between them so that harvest was 34 total.

Four 10 zip plants are what I'm after.

I actually got a Williams Wonder dominant RHS that I think I can coax 3 pounds out of a 600!

Now I will say this would not be possible in my opinion without multiple lights and thus overlap, co2 and a long veg.

Oh yeah, here is my WW dom RHS on at day 8 of flower.

Are they the type of growers that get 2+ every time with the old school hps? I suspect not.
