Thank you, Retro. Went down to Home Depot and picked up some. Will water with it tonight.
I'm so thankful for this thread. I've been growing for years, never had root aphids or anything attack my roots. My plants had tons of syptoms I systematically went thru everything one at time to no avail. So my plants suffered for a few weeks before I ran into this thread, bought some Bayer, and now they are greening up like crazy and on the road to recovery. Thank God.
For now on, I will be using neem and bayer for a preventative as I NEVER one to go thru this again.
Btw...I sprayed the top of the soil with some 1600 X-clude a couple of days ago. Can't see anything moving on the top of the soil anymore. HOORAY!!!
I'm doubtful it got that far down though as it's just aerosol. I will use the bayer advanced tonight like I said.
Now once I do that, would adding some Hygrozyme help my roots recover? Or am I so far into bloom (day 31) that it wouldn't be beneficial? I figure I'd add it on the watering after the bayer advanced treatment.
Those things on top of your soil are probably springtails. They are generally not harmful.
Root aphids will be seen on your roots. Pull plant from pot, and examine roots with a loupe or some kind of magnifier. You will see them if they are there. Tough to see without a magnifier.
How do you use it (i.e. 1/2 tsp/gal soil drench, etc)? When do you use it (how far into flower, veg)?[/QUOTe
@Bud
I used a little more than 1tsp per gal, as I read that using more Imid is not harmful and I wanted to make sure on the first application.
I will be using it in veg as a preventative going forward and again at the flip even though its systemic and is supposed to last for 12months, I'm not sure that applies to the roots and thats how others here are applying it.
Alls I know is it turned my plants around instantly.
Smart Pots
My previous attempts have been futile so far.
I decided to go full blast, I bought the Bayer Tree and Shrub this time (1.47).
7.5mL/Gal this time. The 'Tree and Shrub' doesnt smell nearly as bad as the 'Bayer Complete' did. The 'complete' caused foaming, I doubt the T&S would, but i turned off the airpumps just to be sure.
We can't see any pictures.
This is one of the reasons I don't re-use coco.
Any pathogens get carried over.
But, if you must, you could always treat the coco after the chop. I have also found that reused coco loses some of it's oxygen holding capabilities.
I was led to believe that for the first 3 grows in the same coco, actually improves as a medium. I dont have experience of this, but I`m finding out now, this is my second run so far, I added 30 ltrs new canna coco pro with about 100 ltrs re-used. I got fed up of moving so much coco in and out of my city house.
You can see photo`s here in the first post and then more further down the page on post 7.
Thanks for your response mate, Toke
