damn, everything is looking super dank in there, nameless, that canopy is sick and i'm loving the look of the bed right now

as for your bug issue, i would have to agree it looks like thrip damage, have you been able to find a bug yet in there? any suspects? seen any thrips?

typical defense against thrips is spinosad; i bet nuke-em or big time exterminator would work on them
also check out the DIY green cleaner thread posted up by whodatis, it works well on other pests and would probably fuck up a thrip if they came into contact

still havent seen a thrip but i did see one large fungus gnat (?) a few days ago and a single grasshopper i stomped out last night. but im thinking that it must be thrips. i guess the tiny black dots were the poops. the ladybugs were released yesterday after the lights went out in veg. there were a couple serious bug orgies going on by 9 pm. after they run their course ill reassess the situation and consider which bottle to lock and load if needed.

thank you for the input avi, although i must say its been a long long time since i bought a bottle that looked like those two do. makes me suspicious. but i guess i shouldnt be too quick to judge.

My grow is still bug free. Been checkin since we traded cuts recently. So it definitely wasnt me. Lol. Finally started vegging two of the OGC x CJ! I'm super stoked about that. Gonna take the healthiest of the two and let it be a mother plant. Thx again for that.

yeah it was after that. they came from outside. my lawnmower was in the shop for a month and the long grass brought the field right up to the building basically. or something i dunno. the ogc x cj is still untouched by them. so im doing a mono of that in the A bed instead of glue next round. the biggest glue mother got rootbound and hungry while the ogc x cj is vibrant and healthy so, yeah. got to

cleaned out the veg tent last night. took 20 og chem x casey jones cuts for next round and 5 cuts of sscdh x chemsour male... bout time to get dusty! trimmed some moms back and ditched my large glue mother she was rootbound and too big to revive right. ive got several waiting to take her place as the glue mother. i need to run some of the bobbles strawberry DD to see if im gonna keep it. its fighting for a spot in the harem along with the white walker kush and the pink cheese. i have a beyond the brain mother i need to sample a run with too... so much to do, so little space

nameless do you find that the ground cover (clover?) makes it more difficult to deal with pests or no difference?

Is there low maintenance cover that might help with pests? ex. rosemary, dill (aphids, spidermites), thyme (whiteflies)

b4 - same old maybe mystery glue cut. the verified glue mom was too small for 20 cuts. so im skipping a round on the glue after this one. next round in this bed will be og chem x casey jones monocrop. then after that one the glue will return for a while.

vp - thanks man i should have. i plotted for a couple rounds on the placement. but yeah i was a little nervous second guessing myself. the stretch on this thing still blows me away. i flipped these at 20"

dislexus - i just started the living mulch so i dont have much insight. i have used biological pest control (ladybugs) and the clover seemed to make them happy. but if i was using a spray or fighting the borg it would probably be different. there are plenty of low maintenance companion plant options for outside, but i cant think of anything that would function as a living mulch/ ground cover and deter pests that i could put inside in the beds.

more defoliation last night. medium style. clones are looking good, bumps showing. need to replace the soaker hose with something that waters faster. the super slow dramm weeping soaker seems like its keeping the bottom of the bed wet but the top 4" or so is too dry in most places. it runs for 45 min a night on an 800 gph pump and it barely drops the water in the barrel. stupid.

ive been considering using soaker hose in my new big bed...
you are saying that the soaker hose u run is keeping bottom of soil wet but surface is dry

do u use only one hose?
is it in a U shape or just a line thru the bed or what?
consider and S shape weaving thru the plants or something like that

That's what I did with my outdoor beds a few years back. Weaved the soaker hose in an "S" pattern. Worked great. It sure was nice not having to lug a hose around and be tripping on it all the time.
