A sharp tough knife is an immeasurably useful tool in hundreds of situations that do not involve killing/harming anyone or anything....from makin'a sammich to cutting a walking stick to cleaning a pumpkin to cutting a jammed seat belt in an accident etc etc etc.....I could go on for pages and pages.

For you to post the trite, moronic, preachy, insulting and judgemental mamby-pamby drivel that you did you must be 100% ignorant and 100% sheltered.

ok im gonna end the fight guys. knifes are useful in hundreds of non-lethal situations. but many people use them violently as well. i carry one all the time. but i would never hurt anybody unless threatened.

vg-10 is an awsome stainless steel to have as a core, its also a very unique and beautiful knife

The only thing is, the grip would be cold in the winter - depending on where you are, and it might be slippery. Ask them about their return policy if you dont like it - just incase it doesn't feel right in your hand or the thumbbolt is awkward.

But I think its a great looking knife, and the price isn't that bad considering what you're getting.

I consider Mcustas luxury Spydercos. I would love one in damascus steel myself. VG-10 is definitely good steel and takes and holds a great edge.

Cannabal: I carry three knives every day and I've never used one to hurt anyone, although I have cut myself with a few (starting with the first Wenger my mom bought me when I was 7 or 8).

Now lets imagine that you and i are in a forest, lost and forgotten. all I have is a knife. Do some thinking for me here and figure out which one of us would have a roof over our head, a fire to warm themselves and yes quite possibly dinner to eat. ITS THE GUY WITH THE EFFING KNIFE!! knives are cool. everybody needs a knife at some time. even if its just to chop the onions and slice the roast. if you're outdoors, they're handy, and for hunters (or butchers, or ???) they're a tool. they've got a mystique, and have through the ages. and they're a showcase for craftmanship, be it workmanlike or artistic, on an object that is both essential and in its essence the height of simplicity.

The top knife is an Arkansa toothpick over 20" long made from an old sawmill blade with nicklesilver guard and pommel, the handle is made from elk antler! It is one of my favorite blades. It went thru a house fire 16 years ago and all that was left was the blade and the guard and ponnel. He re-tempered the steel and rebuilt it because he saw the article in the news paper about the fire and me talking about the blade I saved, that was one of a few articles I found that might still be usefull.

by the way, I love the Benchmade Rukus - It's got large knife capabilities (over 4" blade on larger model) but is not bulky or clumsy at all. Even th egrip panels can be changed to different types.

The lock is awsome

and the sv30 stainless steel is a super steel

Thanks, shes one of my favorites!!!Beautiful knife flubnuts, flint knives are some of the oldest on the planet, next to a variety of other natural material knives, even antler and bone!!! Knapping is very easy once you get enough practice. All you need is a natural piece of animal hide,flint and a piece of antler or wood!!!

I agree Basilfarmer...I don't want this thread shut down so lets refrain from the modern firearms and just stick to the Black-Powder models that don't need licensing,Nics checks and can be delivered to your door no questions asked! That benchmade looks very well made and that letteropener looks like it would make a nice thrower!

Here's my Tool a Leatherman that has many functions all in stainless steel! It had a half serrated 3" blade a double sided file with a fish-hook sharpener, 3 different sizes flathead screwdrivers,a phillips screw driver, a hole auger, scissors, a bottle-can opener and a needle nose plyers with a larger plyer area and wirecutter! Oh Yeq it also has a measureing device up to 8" and or 20cm! It's very usefull
