Good idea. Thank you.Nice job!
You can also countersink the screws and put a dowel plug in the hole or fill it with a mixture of sawdust and glue.

'Passed' was poorly phrased. I didn't 'pass' the ACT, but did well enough for scholarship offers.Law school definitely is not for everyone. I remember starting out reading perhaps 50 pages per night in my assigned reading the first week, and then by the middle of the second term needing to have built up to 500 pages. I kid you not. I spent my mornings in the law school library when it opened before class, and stayed until supper time afterwards. At which time I was mentally exhausted and worthless other than thoughtlessly taking a walk or mindlessly surfing the internet, I don't recall there being a pass / no pass on the LSAT. I did though score well enough on mine to qualify for a scholarship my fist year, which is the most that they then offered. Then of course they pulled the rug, lol. I took out loans half way through for the rest. I never worked at a firm (other than clerking during school) and was fortunate to have had two firm job offers waiting for me. I took the second offer because of the pension and never looked back. Sometimes in life you get lucky and get everything right the first time. Sometimes you go left, when you should have gone right..It can be easy to miss a miscue, I think in that way we're much like other animals who learn from their mistakes after the fact.
Alas, I somehow miss-remembered that you had recently acquired a new pup. He’s an only dog. We can still come in during the day but he’s always slept outside. Wife let him in for the night this summer. I wasn’t keen on it from the start. I like my dog outside at night for prowlers to find.
Change 'their/them' mind-fixed that for you.Change my mind...
Nope. Had two, put one down this spring. Sarge is about 7-8 now. I’ll get another dog in a year or so. I like to get a new one before the old one gives out.Alas, I somehow miss-remembered that you had recently acquired a new pup.
Wear your wooliesIt's 10 degrees F out there. I could use my walk and a coffee from Starbucks. Should I go out there?
I’m gonna do my best to live until 90…..and get my money plus the interest I would have earned over the years. If I can live with the pain that long.@Putembk -- If it makes you feel any better, you can genuinely point to one summon-a-bench that beat the system. I was a junior in High School and got a job in a print shop part time.
When I got my first paycheck, I was astonished to discover that after taxes... there was a tax I never heard of: Social Security. Astonished, and genuinely felt cheated, somehow.
Well, I began to get my money back instead of paying it in... starting in the last century! Yup. Been collecting SS payments since before the end of the last millennium. Got all mine back. In multiples.
Hey!! Youse guys got another fargin ex-GI drone on board: ME <-- I get dinged helmet dough as well as ancient creature dough from Unca Sugar. Oh... and since I have essentially no income... I always get a tax refund.
Ganj on, Brother! Yer Unca is leading point. Just follow my DFD plan*** and you, too, will beat them.

Not as awesome as the smoking room right now. Cap Junky x Rosetta StoneI bet that kitchen smells awesome!..
I will be trimming today as well…..only one plant though….one more tomorrowDogs are doing the same ole shit and my fingers seem to be becoming invisible to the trim scissors! Three paper cut size scissor inflicted wounds have been glued closed thus far and I’m not sure if I am 1/2 done yet.
Merry Christmas to all!
Peace

It’s been a challenge keeping them away from Mr Sub. I had 12 baskets to fill. All the baking is done now I’m wrapping them all cute for the baskets. I usually leave out a few for Mr sub and he gets all the ugly ones and broken cookiesI'm getting fat just looking at all that yummy food you're making!
It turned out beautiful YDThis is the mantle I built using rough cut planks. Still have to install the trim to seal in the sides to the brick. And paint the attachment screws. Most of the screws to put it together are from the rear so they don’t show. There are some in front that had to be there. I don’t like the look, I’ll be swapping out with brass screws shortly. They will at least have a more refined look about them.
That wood came from our land. A local guy down the road sawed the lumber.
Sitting here - sorounded by DEER - in the Royal Parks - but they belong to the Crown -
So we don't get much venison around here usually - back in the 80's - I was pood'lin thru the fog of a dark December night - driving a Ford Granada - moonlighting as a mini-cab driver - and as I entered Bushey Park - this south Asian boy racer in a Renault 4 Turbo - put his foot down - in front of me - and ran into a young fallow deer - killing it outright - speeding in the fog - what a bell-end - so I stops - and we looks at his busted hood/bumper - and his now steamy/leaky radiator - he's a tad hysterical - and gets worse as I tell him that he just killed a Royal Deer - and that's such a crime in England - that he could end up in The Tower of London - where they throw away the key - He holds his own head - pleading with me - 'Oww what do I do?! - Can't we come to some arrangement?' - he says - pulling a big wad of dough outa his pocket - 'Can I pay you - to take it away?'
Well - I'd be an accomplice - if I were to get caught - while 'helping' this fella - but I had a mate at the time who was a butcher - and wasn't too far away - so I took the boy racers money - spread a coupla bin bags in the trunk/boot - then salvaged the deer -
- the butcher gave me £100 for it - and he knew how to skin and prepare a deer for consumption - I've never had to do it myself -
This short video - gets me thinking on that subject
