The articles were in the newspaper... they aren't online, sorry. You can try and use googles news search and see if ya find anything. So just tell your buddies not to take their cars there.. and don't go directly home after words.. take the scenic route to your destination.. the long scenic route.. switch vehicles, do whatever ya want to make it safer =]

Florida: City to Seize Homes Over a $5 Parking Ticket
Brooksville, Florida proposes to foreclose homes and seize cars over less than $20 in parking tickets.

The city council in Brooksville, Florida voted this week to advance a proposal granting city officials the authority to place liens and foreclose on the homes of motorists accused of failing to pay a single $5 parking ticket. Non-homeowners face having their vehicles seized if accused of not paying three parking offenses.

According to the proposed ordinance, a vehicle owner must pay a parking fine within 72 hours if a meter maid claims his automobile was improperly parked, incurring tickets worth between $5 and $250. Failure to pay this amount results in the assessment of a fifty-percent "late fee." After seven days, the city will place a lien on the car owner's home for the amount of the ticket plus late fees, attorney fees and an extra $15 fine. The fees quickly turn a $5 ticket into a debt worth several hundred dollars, growing at a one-percent per month interest rate. The ordinance does not require the city to provide notice to the homeowner at any point so that after ninety days elapse, the city will foreclose. If the motorist does not own a home, it will seize his vehicle after the failure to pay three parking tickets.

Any motorist who believes a parking ticket may have been improperly issued must first pay a $250 "appeal fee" within seven days to have the case heard by a contract employee of the city. This employee will determine whether the city should keep the appeal fee, plus the cost of the ticket and late fees, or find the motorist not guilty. Council members postponed a decision on whether to reduce this appeal fee until final adoption of the measure which is expected in the first week of April.

The full text of the ordinance is available in a 605k PDF file at the source link below.

has anyone here tried hydroponics outside in FL? I think that a small 12 site system could mask 2 clones if kept small, fill the rest with roma toms and basil etc...

I know it's hot as hell here, but what systm do you think would be suitable for an outside setup in the yard with full sun for 7 hours a day. I would use a "5day cooler" with frozen bottles that would help keep temps down.

I was thinking ebbNflo to avoid temps changes. Cause the only time the water would leave the cooler would be to flood +5min. I think any recirc. systme would fail due to heat.

Do any of you have an oppinion on this?

You're welcome. Let's make this Hydro shop list a collaborative effort. If everybody can put forth the tiny effort of letting me know when they come across outdated info, I can update the list for everybody's benefit.

I gave this a little thought one time years ago. One issue I considered was keeping rain water from diluting your hydro solution. You might have to put a clear roof over the garden. There are clear panels that people sometimes use for hurricane protection over their windows.

One thing about an ebb n flow table is that it would be harder to keep bugs and wind driven debris out. A 5gal bucket would be easier to keep mostly closed.

what about and ebbNflo using closed buckets. The net cup would allow air to escape and come back in. This would also eliminate the debris.

Build a table to set the buckets or RM Tubs on, plumb them up to the cooler, and grow.

I think it's doable. Im going to try it. If it comes out good, Ill post pics.

That sounds like an interesting plan. Don't wait until it comes out good before you post pics. Blog the entire grow. Some of us will be curious and you never know when somebody will come up with a good suggestion.

That's a nice harvest.

Are you saying that you are 20 degrees north of the equator? That line runs between Cuba and Jamaica. All of the usa is well north of there.

Regs usually comes from places with a climate similar to ours. They are usually packed while still too damp and get that nasty moldy smell. If you grow it well and properly dry and cure it. You will get a good product. So, my advice is to use bagseed if you grow outdoors in a warm climate.

I will be building my own rendition of this. I have everything exept plumbing. I also need to build a box for the res, so that I can insulate for temps. I have a container, and styrofome sheets 3/4" thick. All I need is a sheet of plywood to cut to size. Be back soon...

In response to the hydro stores in florida. I have had people follow me from the growing experience hydro shop in pompano. I thought it was some of the workers there themselves, but im not positive. Luckily I noticed them following me, as the shop is a good 15 miles away.

a car constantly following you in every lane on i95 and getting ony our ass isnt exactly hidden. I dont even go to any hydro stores anymore. I'de rather order online and ship to a safe address. Not to mention hydro shops around here are very expensive.

While we're talking about security, let's mention the most common ways for growers to get caught.

1.) Informant: You're girlfriend knows about your grow, right? She catches you cheating, or she thinks she caught you cheating, or even just flirting with another girl. She gets jealous and swears out an affidavit that LEO uses to get a search warrant. That happened to a very well liked Florida grower and OG mentor named Jeast. It could also be another stoner doing time for something else and wants to get out early by serving up scalp to LEO. I personally know somebody in Florida who's own brother turned him in to get out of prison a few weeks early. Another Florida grower from OG named Gator1 had a former friend turn him in.

Lesson: Show no one, tell no one, trust no one. Shut down your grow before you break up with your girlfriend. Make sure you keep her happy enough that she wont try to hurt you.

2. Odor: You get used to the smell of pot and don't notice it any more, but your neighbors do. I've seen reports of busts in the local news where the LEO goes on TV and says that officers were dispatched because neighbors complained about odor. Sometimes neighbors don't complain until you get in a spat with one and he gets pissed at you. I read one time about a family that didn't say anything until they saw their family pet stagger around stoned. People love their pets (and their kids).

Lesson: Control that odor. Use redundant methods. Don't skimp on the size of your ozone generator. Go out of your way to make sure your neighbors are happy.

just for reference, say if you wanted to pull of a fat lb per plant with a big yielding sativa strain (600 grams per sq meter indoor), when would you reccomend planting them for a place that's about the same lat as central fla with roughly the same weather? of course starting time garauntee's nothing, but what size pot's would you recommend to veg and flower in to secure the 1lb/1plant ratio?
