OK, OK...look Mr. Rellikbuzz, it's about time that you stopped pretending to be some sort of noob. You're not fooling anybody. :biglaugh:

Mil, Leeroy, Rule - You are too kind. Thanks for checking up on me!

ROFLMAO, King!! My girlfriend and I laughed our asses off on that one! She told me to tell you that, "No, he is a "noob" but he IS the Tim Allen of the Weed World!

Stayed tuned for the next edition of "Dope Improvements!!" :biglaugh:

So you were standing in that pool of water when working on the electric. That explains likbuzz! You know that Tim Allen had a brush with the law over weed?

believe me, Texas is brutal in the summer.

I don't know if brutal is a strong enough word! One of the things I miss the least about Texas is the heat/hummidity.

Looking good Rellikbuzz!

Hey Rolando - Sounds like you've lived in Texas before. The heat and humidity certainly can be a bitch. Hopefully I've got enough air flow going through both my Mother Cab and my Flower Closet to handle it. We shall see! Thanks for stopping by, bro'!!

UPDATE!!

Well, it's been a bit of a long evening. It started by trying to get my box fan mounted up on the side wall of my Mother Cab to allow room for the three more pots I needed to transplant the last three seedlings into. To do this I bought four pieces of 90 degree galvanized metal brackets in the lumber dept. at Home Depot. I had to drill holes to mount on the wall and cut a notch for the 1/4" bolt installed in the side of the box fan to sit down in. This took about two hours to complete but finally got the job done. Here's how it looks.

The fan tilts on it's axis so I can direct the air flow. I will be installing one more on the other side of the cab up high to maximize circulation. Then the Mother Cab will FINALLY be done. I had to relocate my power higher on the wall to make room for the fan I just installed. Still need to clean up some of the wires that are hanging free.

Now, I mentioned last night that I was going to show you a little trick I came up with to help me with my watering. Well, actually I got the idea from a video on Pot-TV. Some of you may have seen it. It's a great video made in Amsterdam I believe which shows how to setup a grow room and then shows a grow from start to finish of some K-2 plants. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you watching it. Here's the link to it.

http://www.pot-tv.net/archive/shows/pottvshowse-2858.html

Anyway, I found a Wayne 1/6 horsepower submersible pump on Ebay for $25.00 brand new plus shipping. The pump retails for around $115.00. Got quite a deal on it. It has a 950 gallon per hour capacity. I felt I need to get a pump with some power to it so that it would provide enough force to water properly. As it turn out, I was right on. The flow rate is perfect for providing the plants a nice gentle, well aerated rain.

To this pump I connect a 6' garden hose and a garden sprayer with an on/off trigger on it. I just submerse the pump in the water/nute mix in the reservoir and the plug it in. *** WORD OF CAUTION *** Make sure the sprayer is screwed on tight to the hose and the hose to the pump or otherwise water sprays everywhere!! My clothes got a bit damp the other night when I failed to check this well. Won't happen again! :biglaugh: Since I am only giving the plants quarter liter of water, my two gallon pale is all I need right now. As the get bigger, I have a ten gallon resevoir I will use.

Now I learned another trick from the video above. You take a measuring cup and, depending on how much water you want to give your plants (in this case a 1/4 liter), you spray into the measuring cup and count how many seconds it takes to get that quantity of water in the cup.

I tried this over 20 times and each time the flow rate was virtually the same. Once you figure out how many seconds it takes to get the right quantity. You simply spray into the plant pots for that amount of time and you can feel quite sure you've given your babies the prescribed amount. It really takes the guesswork, hassle and mess out of the watering process!!

Time for the plants now!!

The plants are now between 11 and 17 days from seed. There has been some good growth. New sets of leaves are forming everyday it seems. Most all appear in quite good health. They have only been given a mix of Superthrive, Advanced Nutrients' Voodoo Juice that has been PH'd to 6.2-6.3 a couple of times and then just PH'd water a couple of times so far. Tonight, all I gave them was straight water PH'd to 6.2 that had been aerated with the air pump since this morning.

I also transplanted the last three seedlings into the 1.5 gallon pots in a 75% Fox Farms Light Warrior Soilless Mix with 25% perlite. These were watered in with the Superthrive/Voodoo Juice mix and a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid as a wetting agent to help the soilless mix absorb the water.

I had to decide which three out of the last five seedlings that I was going to keep. This was a much tougher decision than I thought it would be. I guess we just get attached to our babies, don't we? Well, one of the two POK Kush x Critical Mass seedlings left just hasn't been doing so well. That one wasn't as hard to let go of. My little runt AK47 x C99 has been trying to make a strong comeback. While her growth pattern is strange since it had such a rough start with it's rotted cotyldons, she has since sprouted some very cute and distinctive purely sativa leaves. Since she's the only AK that I could get to pop, she stays! Here's a pic of her freshly transplanted in her new digs.

She doesn't have much of a stem yet as her head was just out of the jiffy pellet, so I had to be careful not to completely bury her. Here's a shot of the POK Kush x Critical Mass that I chose to transplant as well. She has a dense formation of new leaf growth on her. I think you'll agree that she stays too.

The last two I had to decide between was my Blue Thunder #1 and a late popping Apollo Mist that has grown really nicely. This was a much tougher choice to make. Now, I already had four Blue Thunders going. More than any of the other strains but THIS Blue Thunder, she is different. In fact, as I noted in a previous post, her whorled leaves early in growth leads me to believe that she is a true Blueberry pheno. So, this made my decision a little easier to make. I am going to keep the little Apollo Mist around just in case one of the others doesn't make it for some reason but, if nothing else, I'll try to find a good home for her with someone I know who is wanting to try growing too. She won't go to waste if I can help it. Here's my Blueberry pheno Blue Thunder right after transplant.

Now here's the lastest growth on the rest. First the POK Kush x Critical Mass.

And the Apollo Mists.

And finally, the Blue Thunders.

All in all I think things are going pretty well. I'm about to have all the changes completed to the Mother Cabinet and the girls really seem to like the atmosphere in there. Depending on how much growth I get this week, I will probably start giving them their veg nutes at low strength towards the end of the week. I will continue to veg them in the cabinet for another three weeks or so then move them into the Flower Closet to veg under the MH for another weeks before flipping them to 12/12. I have a lot of work left to do on the flower closet and several EXPENSIVE things yet to get for it that I need to complete it. In the next couple of weeks I will start to post the construction pics of the Flower Closet.

Thanks again to everybody for your kind words of encouragment and feedback. Your input is invaluable to me. I sincerely appreciate everyone here and I hope to show you some fantastic budshots in the not-to-distant future!

One last thing I forgot to mention. The initial 12/12 light period is now ending as starting day before yesterday I began adding 2 hours to the "on" schedule each day. So, by Tuesday we will be at a full 18/6 and thats where they will stay until flower. It will be interesting to see how many females our little experiment produces! Just thought I would add this FYI. Good night all.

I appreciate it, Mil. It does me good to know that some people are benefiting from my little grow here. I am a "newbie" and I wear the tag proudly but let it never be said that I didn't do my homework first! :D

This is a fun thread for sure...I ike how you've been proactive about problems rather than trying to troubleshoot them afterwards
Hopefully that 12/12 experiment works out...

And BTW Rellik...I was thinking Hank Hill more than Tim Allen, ya tool-lovin texan :biglaugh: :joint:

Rule, my bro, glad you liked the little watering trick! It's working really well for me. For any soil/soilless/no-hydro grower, I highly recommend it. It's cheap and easy and makes watering a breeze. By the way, glad to here you got your little ones back on track. Keep it up, my man!!

Fernandro - Glad you like the show/all you need to know/to reep from the seeds you sow/is feed 'em well and watch 'em grow/ Oh no, now you got me on the go/ Way to go, Fernandro!!! :biglaugh:

Disco and Kim - Glad you could stop by and check out my little grow. Thanks for the kind words and I hope you'll drop by often to check out these babies!!

***MINI-UPDATE***

Well, tonight the plants got their first taste of nutes. In two gallons of water I gave them 1 tsp. (4.93 ml.) of Grow (1 part of Advanced Nutrients 3 part), 1 tsp. Revive (Advanced's Defiency Fixer - also great for stressed plants), 1 tsp. AN's Fulvic Acid, 1 1/2 tsp. of AN's Voodoo Juice, 1 1/2 tsp. AN's Mother Earth Tea and 6 drops of Superthrive. Granted, this is a very week blend but is meant to just give them a little bump to get their motor's revving a bit. This time next week I'll be giving them the 2nd Vegatative Week's recommendation from AN's nutrient calculator on their website. So, far they are looking pretty perky. Maybe it's my imagination but just in the last couple of hours they have a more upright stature. Almost as if the nutes have brought about some additional vigor.

The temps in the Mother Cabinet have been hovering between 75-80 degrees, staying most in the 77-78 range. Air is flowing like crazy in there since I got the second oscillating fan mounted on the wall. Everything seems to be in good order there.

In my next post I'll cover the Advanced Nutrients that I'll be using throughout the grow. It's pretty extensive as I will be using the entire 2+program along with Tarantula. The Scorpion Juice that I had hoped to use has not been FDA approved yet and I can't convince Mike at AN to send me some. Although, I have tried!! :biglaugh: Hopefully we'll see some good growth on the plants with this next update. Hope Springs Eternal, right??
