Fireknot farm 2016

Thx Rocky! They're getting top dressed with ewc and 2.5 lbs of seabird guano right now. Watered in with compost tea extract. I wonder what the response time on this stuff is like?

I'm burning thru so much KOH it's crazy. My well water is pH 5.1. I've used two 60$ bottles of advanced nutrients pH up, so I bought 2 lbs of KOH for like 6$, I am almost out of it, lasted maybe 2 weeks tops, it takes so much just to raise my pH to 6.8. I'm wondering what would happen if I just stopped and started giving them 5.1? I'm probably just going to continue with this...as it works...it just seems excessive.

And that guano smells god awful!

I'm in the same boat as you, but on the opposite side of pH (8.1-8.5) for my water. I've never pH'd the water except for sprouting the seeds. Maybe I'm wrong, but as I understand, the organic components of the soil buffer the pH so that nutrients aren't locked up. I did add peat moss to my soil to lower the soil pH though.

My thinking is that your plants are used to that ideal pH water that you've been giving them and if the pH goes down by a lot it may shock them for a while until they adjust to it. Or the soil may just correct it too. I'm not sure.

Maybe the best is to transition the plants to the lower pH water over a few waterings and you'll see if problems arise because of the lowering of the pH.

Good luck and hopefully some else chimes in!

Thanks ya'll, love the proverb Mountain Sprout!

It smells like quinoa and cannabis in the garden...may have to rename the farm to Hippy Heaven. /sarc

I would harvest it but I sprayed sulfur @ 30ml/gal 'cause I found a few thrips.

I'm starting to see a response from the guano too...sweet!

LOL i never said that, i'm sure the quality is very decent.^

(???)

tess, hope all is well dude, I was just smokin some Sorcerer's Apprentice from last year, that stuff is still amazing after a year in the fridge. I showed it to some kids who thought it was fresh indoor heh. I remember the pheno i really liked was very early to flower, one of the first in the garden to really start stacking and it never stopped. smelled like berry sprite.

Thanks guys...I hope I get that pheno so bad! They are my biggest monsters. That stuff you grew was some of the best weed I have ever smoked. I describe it as candy apple / chem dawg...lol. I remember smoking some on the street in santa cruz...it made some passing people extremely excited/jealous. It was all I smoked until it was gone...then I kept the jar for a while just to whiff. Yup...then onto that delicious lemon ancient og!

I just sprayed an essential oil mix with added clove oil...then used a blower (shop vac) to dust diatomaceous earth on the girls. I found a small amount of aphid shit this morning but no aphids. I think that should take care of them but will keep my eyes peeled.

Considering Blueberry used a fake traffic generating script on my threads url I wont contest the claim. I thought it was funny: One million views! I thought I was a boss for a while in the realm of Google's indexing algorithms...but one night he came forward and revealed that it was indeed him all along.

i think I will still have more of that Sorcerers Apprentice left after this summer, I saved quite a bit for headstash.... maybe I'll bring some to emerald cup and we can compare and see if you got one similar

aphidshit huh. gross. never heard of somebody using a shopvac to dust their plants heh. Blueberry is my idol btw. wonder if he'll get to 1000lbs

Definitely do that, I will be there. Smoking that weed will be like a reunion with a long lost love. South fork and mendo seeds are on my list of gear to check out. Motherlode genetics should have some testers by then yeah? A part of me wants to take cuts and save some of these genetics...especially the appalachian x's. But I know there's no way I'm going to spend another entire winter on this cold snowy hill. So it is what it is. I was stuck here for 10 days after christmas because I dont have a 4x4 yet...lol.

I'm going to buy some more essential oils for the aphids. If they even still exist. I can use neem next month once the sulfur wears off. I wore a respirator last night while dusting. I got a little bit of blood this morning blowing my nose after doing a walkthru. That DE is no joke. I was completely covered in it last night...left white tracks through the house to the shower like some hillbilly holyman.

Lookin' good, Tess.

Forgive me for not reading extensively - did you dig at all under those mounds or just pile the dirt on top of unbroken ground?

Thx, check post 1 for soil analysis of the approximately 100-200 gallons of soil that was already dug out 6'x6' into the clay when I moved in. Column 2 on the test.
