yeah, less time to get in trouble, but we still find a way
how are the workouts going,man?
still getting to the gym and riding the exercise bike?
i hope you enjoy your time and are starting to see some results
/the mrs said at first its only you that notice the changes
but stick with it and have fun
yeah man, i have a step brother who is about the same age as i am
we fought all the time and sometimes it would get pretty bad
luckily me and my sister have both grown up and it turns out she is actually has a really cool life
wow,man
i knew ffof was a hot soil but if you are feeding 400ppm and your runoff is registering 1800 that is really high, keep us posted on your results for sure
in addition to raising the lights you can also bend some stems and build a more horizontal canopy, so you still have a lot of options at this point
the year is off and running and i am looking fore ward to the longer days ofspring
so far we have not had any real winter here (except for a few odd cold spells) but im still looking foreward to the longer days

lets finish off the week strong, fellows
i am ready for super bowl weekend

Good morning pop_rocks.

Yes you can use a hair iron thingy for making rosin. The first time I heard of it was when I saw someone on a YouTube vid doing it that way. He was pressing small buds between two pieces of parchment paper. He was getting like one dab at a time and the process looked extremely tedious. It looked like it would take all day to make a gram of the stuff. That was a few years ago and luckily technology has improved quite a bit since then. I think that Pack has the right method, it's effective and efficient.

Thanks pop. The plants seem happy. I've been checking the runoff ppm and have found that I have to feed extremely light to keep runoff under 1800 ppm. Even that may be too high but it's what I've been getting. This leads me to believe that I had way over fed them on the last run, even at 1/2 strength of what the bottle recommend. I think I was dealing with an imbalance and lockout from the start of flower last run. It seems ocean forest has a lot of nutes in it allready and I was adding even more. Right now I'm at 1/4 strength on the PBP bloom, 2ml/gallon calmag plus, and 10ml/gallon diamond nectar. After pHing it comes to about 400 ppm feed and 1800 ppm runoff. As the runoff ppm decreases I'll up the feed some. This is the first time I've monitored runoff ppm like this but I think it's going to help me get dialed in. I'll be able to keep track of how much the plants are using. The plants have just about dubbed in hight since the flip so still plenty of streach. My guess is that they will streach for less time since they are already budding earlier. I've still got like 18" to raise the light so I don't think headroom will be an issue this round.

Yes I've just got the one brother. I think it's pretty common for siblings to get allong better once both are grown up and out of the house. There is a lot of competition between siblings when growing up, for resources and attention and all kinds of things and I think that contributes to that. I'm sure it's a bit diffrent when both siblings are brothers, lots more fighting and whatnot. Im sure your sister can look back and appreciate you watching out for her, even if she thought it was unnecessary at the time.

You are right January is flying by and I have a feeling that in the blink of an eye we will be talking about how fast 2018 went by. I've been extra busy with having to fit working out into my days so time is going even faster for me than it ever has before. It will be busy season at work within a few weeks and that will just make time go faster. I guess that's just life and to be honest keeping busy is best for me. Less time to get in trouble LOL.

Hey Fiddynuts, I have always been told not too feed for the first 3-4 weeks with ocean Forrest. I have only used it for mom's. I use happy frog for years with great success. You can feed right away with happy frog.

Hey Jungle mates, birthday party was great. I have only lost a couple buds to mold in all my time growing. It was a strain that had huge colas. I saw what my buddy lost to mold when he grew mendobreath. It yields enough to make up for the loss.

I have been making a fair bit of rosin lately. My buddy has been coming by every weekend to get something pressed. We did some strawberry banana, such a wierd flavor for weed it work though. I did some super fresh kief that came out awesome. It turned out light yellow and very tasty. It's funny that he comes here to use my little press, when they have $ 5500 sasquatch press. They can't get it to yield. I have to laugh when people spend a fortune and can't figure it out
Hey Pf I never did rosin yet but im interested. How do you do it and what press are you using? You press it undried don't you?
I have my second run going on clones and want to do something else with the cookies and the dutch kush. Should have about 10 zips to play with. I think I have the Candy dialed in a little better. I had white tips and hollow stems on the seed run just on the candy. Didn't have the balls to put the boric acid for boron on them but went strong on EJ microblast and oilycann, and it seems to be enough to keep them green on the tips. I read thats either calcium or boron causing light tips and hollow stem. If the stems are still hollow this run I will call it a genetic trait. The candy kush I let go till it had some tan trichs was nowhere near as good as the ones cut at 9 weeks. That crisp clear buzz turned into more of a dull couch lock.
I am excited about running some bodhi next. Plan is to start the seeds early May when I return from spring Holiday. Gogi, elfinstone and A Gold.
I do envy the warm weather members of our tribe. We got arctic express again this weekend so try not to rub it in too much guys.
:tiphat:
Ps You use the ffhf straight up or add anything?

What's up Rode,
I have a 1 ton press, it is ok . I mainly run hash rosin, but lately I have been to busy to make hash. I have been using kief or flower. I don't use wet material, just not dry. I use a bovida if the stuff is dry.

I used the happy frog straight. Nothing added. I like being able to control what my plants get.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

You are right I do seem to find a way to get into a little trouble no matter how busy LOL.

Workouts are going great brother. I do at least 6 days a week and I'm getting stronger and I can feel my lungs and circulation getting better. I can lift more and do more reps. I've about doubled the distance that I go on the stationary bike and elliptical since I started. And I'm down over 15 pounds in the just a month. I feel like I'm going to be in great shape for mountain biking by the time the trails are open. The diet and excercise are going way better than expected and I'm having a really good time of it.

You are right that OF is a hot soil. I'm pretty sure that I've been causing issues with my last few grows by over feeding and not realizing it. I guess I need to rethink my soil and make some changes to my grows. I will be checking the ppm of the runoff from now on and I hope I haven't screwed this grow up allready. The plants look like they are handling it so far but I'm thinking just water for the next couple waterings until the ppm comes down a bit. At least I learned something that is going to help my future grows I'm sure.

I'm really looking forward to spring too. We are getting another arctic blast this week and it was like 4 degrees this morning and really windy. I'm done with winter this year, but I doubt it's done with us. I with you on looking to finish the week off strong and really want to relax and watch football on Sunday. Once that is over I can start thinking about baseball. The brew crew has a lot of exciting young players and made some trades last week and picked up some great talent. They should be a lot of fun to watch the next few years as they make a run for their first World Series title. Love me some baseball!

Good afternoon Packerfan.

Yep I think I've heard people say that OF had enough to keep a plant happy for 3 weeks or so. I guess I never made the connection that I shouldn't be feeding during that time (duh). I've still got a lot to learn but I hope this lesson makes a big difference in future grows. Happy frog is cheaper and you get more in the bag too. I'm pretty sure I'll be in HF for my next flower run.

Good afternoon Rodehazrd.

I'm glad to hear that things are well in your garden.

You are right about the Arctic express, it moved in here last night. It's going to be cold the next few days but not as cold as it was those couple weeks after Christmas. Keep the fire stoked and stay warm brother.

that is great fiddy!
15# is huge
you must really be hitting it hard with diet and exercise
im doing the same, eating a lot less and doing my walks almost every day in addition to my regular exercise
the things that has helped the most is the walks, we recently got our yearly totals and i could not believe how many steps i took and how many kcals were burned
hope your brewers do well, it sounds like the team has a soild foundation to build on
i used to love baseball and might follow along this year
i ususally dont really feed too much as long as the plants look happy
if you are suing straight soil then you can goa while with out adding anything, especially if you arent seeing any deficiencies
i usually mix in some coco to air it out a bit, but even then dont really add much else
i kind of work the plant up from about a 50/50 mix for the sprouts to full strength for the teen plants

nice observation on letting your kush go too long and the quality of the buzz, rode'
hope things in the garden are going well and i hope you enjoy your stash
let us know if you every get around to pressing some rosen and how it turns out

well i decided to take this monday off work so i can just enjoy the last football game of the season
i am so ready for friday

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

Thank you for the encouragement brother. I feel like I'm working steadily at this for the long run and not trying to overdo things. It has been easer than I thought it was going to be, so far anyway. Some days are a little harder to get motivated but the results have kept me going. I hope I can keep up the good work. If I do I'll be needing new cloths soon LOL. Eating a lot less and getting an extra walk in goes a long way. It's great that you are still getting good use out of your Fitbit and I can imagine how cool it is to look back at the years total in steps and activity. I think I may have toget one of those now. My phone just keeps track of steps and I'm doing about 16k on a good day. Keep up the good work brother.

The brewers are doing great. The rebuild went much quicker than expected and they are just a pitcher or two away from being ready for a run. It's a lot of fun to watch a team go through the process and all the young talent start to perform. Really looking forward to the season this year.

I will have to think about how I'm going to handle the soil on my next flower run. Im leaning toward trying a run with happy frog and seeing where that takes me. If I continue to use OF I'll have to figure out when to start feeding and I think I'd have the potential to screw that up. I can watch runoff like I have been but I'm more inclined to use HF and keep controls of the feed myself. I've got a few weeks or so to think about it.

I've got Monday off too, great minds think alike I guess LOL. I think I'm going to make a rack of ribs for the game and relaxing my diet for a day. I don't want to set myself back but you gotta break the rules from time to time. I hope you have a great weekend and that Sunday's game is the best Super Bowl to watch ever...Fiddy

it sounds like you had clinical depression there bud, not just a case of the blues
just remember you arent alone, friend and you can always post up here, even if its just to rant or get stuff off your chest
sounds like you are almost finished with the home improvements and i bet it feels good to have a set of wheels again
good to hear things are looking up for you, brother and keep smiling

good looking out for our man, p'fan!
depression is no joke and it sounds like you have been there to help in the past

a rack of ribs sounds great for the big game, fiddy
superbowl sunday is practically a holiday in my book and a day to enjoy
food, drink and football all go hand in hand and this is the biggest game of the season
no problem enjoying some good times and having fun foods to eat every now and then
man, its amazing at all the things you can do with your phone
i have an app too, but the fitbit is sure easy to use
just put it on like a watch and off you go
they also let you sort the totals so you can see how much you have walked in the day, month, year etc; along with other interesting date
/it says ive climbed over 4000 floors, the equivalent of a 747s cruising altitude
im sure your phone keeps track of the same things, but i liked how simple the fitbit was
if you want more controll of your feedings, happy frog could be the way to go, for you
heck, if you really wanted to get involved you could even switch over to a soil less mix and then totally control the feed yourself
now that you are able to clone you can even try any combination side by side and see which works best for you
that is rad that you are taking monday off too
im planing to savor every moment of this weekend

Good afternoon Floridian.

It's nice to have you back brother. You are right that depression is no fucking joke. I'm sorry to hear that you've been suffering and I hope you are coming out the other side alright. You've been through a lot of shit the last couple years and all the stress on the body can cause chemical imbalance and lots of issues. About 15 years ago I was in a really bad motorcycle accident and had to deal with months of pain and inactivity. That caused me to get depressed and changed my lifestyle completely. Also led me to herion addiction. I feel like I'm still trying to digg out of that hole all these years later.

I'm glad to hear your house is just about done and you are going to get your garden up and running again soon. That is a sign that you are starting to feel better. I'm sure having plants to care for will help you feel better too. Sometimes having things that depend on you, like plants and pets can keep you going when maybe you'd otherwise give up on yourself. Keep us posted and I hope you are going to be a part of our discussions here again. Like pack said, pm me if you need to talk and once again, it's great to have you back and posting again..Fiddy.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

it's been a while since I made ribs and I'm really looking forward to them. I even got some fancy heirloom pork ribs this time. I've not used the heirloom pork before but I hear it's a real treat. You are right that the super bowl is like a holiday and a great day to cheat a little on the diet. I can always do an extra couple workouts next week LOL.

I really want the Fitbit. My phone only keeps track of steps and dosent give me all the other data like heart rate and what not. 4K floors is a lot of steps brother that must feel really good to look back on. Keep up the good work!

I think I do want to have more control over plant feeding. I think it will help me learn how to feed better if I have to do the feeding when I water. You are right this might be like a first step into learning how to grow in coco or something like that. I'm looking forward to experimenting with this on my next run.

I hope your weekend is off to a great start and you enjoy the last Sunday of the football season...Fiddy.

:groupwave:Hey Floridian glad to see you back. Yeah we all struggle from time to time with depression. Most of us just don't recognize it . I know I have. I take a SSRI for mine and it helped a lot with my gut issues too. There's a real truth in the statement better living through chemistry. I wish I'd had that stuff 40 years ago. I would have missed a lot of anxiety. Talk to the hospice folk again they are there for you long after your loss and they know how grief will double back on you like a sly fox. The psycotrophic meds can work well but its like a lock and a key one works for some but not others. So you need a pro to help work it out. We're all here for you if you want to pm us with more details.

Well jungle mates,

I have a short week this week. Leaving Thursday after work to go to Las Vegas. Woo hoo party time. We got tickets to see Ron White. It's going to be nice to get out of town for a few days.

I am flushing the girls, only 10 days to go till harvest. I am going to try dry trimming this round. That will give me time to get the next round in the big room.

Hope everyone had a great super bowl Sunday.

Greetings friends.

Time for a quick update.

The 91xSL are filling the tent nicley and really starting to set some good buds. I've been giving just water the last few days and the runoff is down to about 1200 ppm so I'm going to start feeding again next watering. My brother is going to take over watering duties at the end of this week and I need to give him clear instructions on how to mix up the feed and how much to use. I'm thinking that I'll have him feed at half strength while he is in charge and keep it as simple as possable for him. Here is a shot of them.

The red eye Jedi plants are doing well and if I wasn't so lazy I'd have th m sexed allready. I want to get that done by the time I leave this weekend so there will be less for my bro to water and care for. I'm pretty sure they were over fed too since I had them in OF and was feeding lightly. They have been on just water for th last couple waterings as well. I'll have him feed lightly, I want them to stay healthy I'm planning on taking cuts of them in a couple weeks. The cc GSC and Blackwater are looking good too. Here is a couple shots of the veg tent.

They have been on just water for th last couple waterings as well. I'll have him feed lightly, I want them to stay healthy I'm planning on taking cuts of them in a couple weeks. The cc GSC and Blackwater are looking good too. Here is a couple shots of the veg tent.
