What's up jungle mates, so did anyone else hear about the Slayer farewell tour with testament, behemoth, anthrax, and Lamb of God. I am so excited, going to be an epic show. Debating if I should go to the San Diego show or the Irvine show. I was hoping for aVegas show but not seeing one.

I just saw a flyer a couple days ago for this.
I saw anthrax and testament in late 80's metal fest never seen behemoth or LOG before. Seen slayer a few times not in many years though.
I guess metal is not dead after all!

wow p'fan, this mendobreath you are running must be the dank!
ive only heard you say good things about it, how many cycles have you run this one?
yeah, its too bad about the Blr sprouts; i still have a few beans left but dont know if im ready to go all in wiht her just yet
the Loctite X's are growing great and i am also growing out a few other beans so i might just hold off on popping the last of the Blr until later in the year
i hope to find at least one or two keepers in this round between the Loc x's, the lone Blr and this other strain im running
/i might as well introduce her now, im calling her the C-boogie (after the friend who was so generous to give me the magic beans)

this girl reeks, even in veg
hopefully her or her sister (they have already indicated sex) will be something worth hanging on to
/there is a third that looks like a boy, but im going to give it a little longer before tossing
nice that the girls at the local home store are hot looking!
nothing wrong with that and it makes those multiple trips a little easier

that is great that you got to play a few rounds of disk golf this past weeeknd, fiddy
is there still snow on the ground?
it looks like winter has finally set in here in so cal, the days are still nice and warm but its gets cold here at night!
plus it looks like we are in for some more rain this week
im looking foreward to the wet weather and am finally able to rock my winter layers
pork loin is a good substitute for butt and isnt half bad when you season it up right
same goes with the chicken breast
these baby plants wont make the next flower cycle so i will let them veg for the a while and take cuts for sure
i pretty much clone all the plants i grow from seed
that is weird that youre not having the same results with the cloner in your other tent, the environments should be pretty identical between the two
is it strain dependent or maybe something else?

thanks for stopping by mudraya
like fiddynut said, feel free to drop in any time even if its just to say hello
are you growing anything right now?

also, to our other friends reading, post up guys!
even if its just to stop in and say hello be sure to chime in
/ this goes double for rode', fish and all you other turkeys!

almost half way through the last full week of january and hope everyone is having a great start to their new year!

Hey Pop Rocks, this is my first run with the mendobreath. I have seen her action, she's my current favorite strain. The buds are huge already, I still have 3 weeks and a,few days till the chop.

Thanks for the good vibes fellas. Just cut some White, and Black Eyed Katy about to be busy for a few days with those. First time trying a new to me approach with EC, feeding much lower and DTW feeding 8x/day and pretty happy with how they looked!

I've got some basic cell phone pics I could show but I need a good swiping program before I feel comfortable with that. Anyone have any recommendations? Just got more active on here again pretty recently, I'm out of the loop!

Hello Tribe

The ice finally melted off the internet antenna. Thirty degrees feels like spring. I got some catching up to do reading back posts.
I finally chopped the cookies kush from barneys. here she is at 14 weeks. I'm running the three clones now but she's not my favorite although very potent and tasty 14 weeks is too long for what it is.
I'm keeping three pheno of the candy kush and a copy of the dutch kush but its all about popping new beans for me this year. Still working with hybrids but leaning more and more to the sativas
We got elfinstone up next its skunk x skunk so should be stinkey
I think I'd like to set up the old tent and make it a ganga bang site would really like to f2 the gogi and the zipolite. I did some ak outdoors and did not get much due to mold. Plus don't want low mushroom resistance either.
I'll read the back post and check back in guys at least till the next ice storm.

Welcome Mudraya
to clear the exif data on a windows os right click on the pix in the library choose properties hit the details tab and select remove personal data at the bottom of the screen. That does it no data to worry about. you will see a lot of removal scams but most are bots.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

I hope you find some keepers too and look forward to seeing how these grow out for you. I love the plants that have a strong smell in veg too.

It's been a really weird year for snow here. We had a long streach of bitter cold with no snow and a couple warm ups with a more average strech in between. Monday night I went to bed listening to a hard rain and even saw some lightning but woke up to a few inches of snow, the most we've had by far this year. Now it's looking to get back to the 40's in a couple days so it will be melting soon. So far it's been cold enough that the ground is frozen which makes the golf course much more manageable than in spring when the frost melts and it gets sloppy. I'm digging the winter disc golf scene, no crowds and no muddy boots!

I bet the cool nights make for som good sleeping weather don't they? I'm glad to hear you are getting some rain, no one likes it to get too dry and you guys need to stock groundwater for the summer right? Rock those winter layers buddy!

I love me some pork loin. It's the other white meat and really takes flavors well. I hit the last one with my smoking guns hot rub and let it get a couple hours of smoke. You just have to be carful not to dry them out, they can't cook to 200 like a butt. I take mine to about 145 or so and let it finish while resting. Ive been eating a lot of chicken breast lately too. I have mixed in a steak or two as well, just keeping portion size in mind. Diet and exercise program going great and I'm down about 10 pounds allready.

I'm thinking that the temp in my veg tent is a little higher than in my under the stairs veg area and that is what caused my poor results this time. I also have a feeling that I may have not rinsed out and flushed the cleaners that I used to clean the cloner before filling it this time and that might have had something to do with it too. I'll be trying again soon and I hope to get the results that I experienced the first couple times I used it. I don't think it's strain dependent because it's the same strain that I've gotten to root the last couple times.

I have to get some pics of the red eye Jedi seedlings. They have great structure and are taking off. Will do pics and update soon...Fiddy.

Good afternoon Mudraya.

Glad you are happy with your harvest. Sometimes less is more with feeding plants. I've been to both extremes of over and under feeding and hope to find a happy medium soon. 8 feeds a day sounds like you must be using some nice equipment to get that dialed in.

On my old iPhone I turn location off so my pics never get location data but I've also heard that icmag strips the data when you upload. Might check with someone in the know on that. It sounds like Rodehazrd has a good method if you use Windows. I live in a no rec no med state and I know how risky it can seem to post pics. Just follow your gut and do what feels comfortable...Fiddy.

glad to see you back rode!
hope the worst of your winter is behind you
the cookie kush looks frosty, my man but wouldent blame you for moving on from her
/i hear you about 14w being a little too long to wait for anything but mind blowing results
let the pollen fly brother! that sounds like it would be a great cross
nice tip about scrubbing the exif data, too
ive also heard that IC mag deletes that info as well, but we cant be too safe
/heck, even in a supposedly legal state, i dont want to broadcast too much information to just anyone
its cool tho, i grew up underground and am happy to just keep things like they have always been

i hope to find some keepers too fiddy
im also having fun running new stuff but in the end its all about the smoke
so far the C-boog is looking great and i hvae great hopes for her
im also keeping my fingers crossed as far as the Black lime and loctite cross goes
/im sure there is at least one jem in this batch
i bet you are enjoying having the course to yourself
when does the ground thaw out in your area?
i totally agree about the pork loin being a little drier but still mighty tasty
we eat a lot of chicken breast too, but i will sometimes mix the breast and thigh meat together when i want something extra
its all about the seasoning when it comes to the leaner meats
/this is where that pickle brine really adds flavor
different temps could effect the rate the clones root, as well as any residue in the tub
i would be more inclined to think it might be residue, usually clones root faster in warmer temps as long as they dont dry out
keep us posted on how things go this time around and you can always go back to the rapid rooters under a dome if things dont work out for you

that sounds like a nice line up mudraya,
i am familiar with the white but ive never heard of black eyed katy
have you grown these out before? it sounds great
i agree that i liked to feed less at more frequent intervals when i ran hydro
what medium are you using
glad you are getting back on the boards and hope to see you posting up more often!

Good afternoon Rodehazrd.

I'm glad you are thawing out buddy. It's been a hell of a winter up here, not much snow but at least 3 weeks of bitter cold. Plenty of days where it struggled to get to zero. Isn't it strange how warm 30 can feel? I feel like we are both looking forward to spring. I'll be headed to Alabama and New Orleans in a couple weeks for a short reprieve from the cold, can't wait!

Damn, 14 weeks is a long time. I had some go 11 weeks and was really thinking it was far too long. I know some sativas go that long and longer but who has time for that? I guess if the buzz is what you want it must be worth it, some seem to only grow long flowering ones and like them just fine.

It sounds like you are finding some winners and having some fun in the garden. It's nice to get in the grow room when it's cold outside, sometimes I spend an hour or so in mine and pretend I'm out in the sun...Fiddy.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

I'll keep my fingers crossed too but I think you are right you'll find a gem or two there. Do you know what parents the c-boog has? Your garden is looking great!
It's nice to have the course to myself this time of year. I like socializing and meet a lot of cool people on the course in summer but it's nice to be able to play at my own pace and not have to wait on others too. Depending on the winter the frost melts in March or April here so unless it gets and stays unseasonably warm it shouldn't get muddy for a couple months. The mud will make the mountain bike trails unridable as well so probably won't be able to get to that until late April or May. That's fine I need to strengthen my legs too.
I've found with pork loin that if you don't cook it well done it stays nice and moist. I know many don't like to have pork that is medium or mid well but I like it like that and don't worry too much. I've seen people eat raw pork testing sausage seasonings and it dosent hurt them so why worry. I know in the 50's and 60's pork was always served well done and a lot of people still do it that way. I still haven't done a pickle juice brine but will try it soon.
Your right I think the higher temps in a he veg tent are better for the cloner and I hadent used it in the other area before this and will try a heating pad if I keep having issues. I've still got plenty of rooters and will give that a go if I have to. I'm going to need to get cuts ready in a few weeks for the next run so I'll be playing with the set up to make sure I'm ready...Fiddy.

i like spending time in the grow room too when the weather is bad outside
even during the winter months when it gets dark early, i like knowing i have my little room of sunshine i can hang out in
yeah, i guess back in the day pork meat could have worms in it,(trichinosis) so you had to cook it really well
but i hear with modern practices its not as much of a problem anymore but you know how people can be with change
/especially if thats the way they always did it
how cold does it get in the other area compared to the veg tent
that would be rad if you could dial in this area under the stairs for a clone nursery
like how big is this space?

Glad you are happy with your harvest. Sometimes less is more with feeding plants. I've been to both extremes of over and under feeding and hope to find a happy medium soon. 8 feeds a day sounds like you must be using some nice equipment to get that dialed in.

It's actually pretty simple, just a digital seconds timer and some math based on the Grodan irrigation chart. They recommend irrigating at roughly 3% of real volume multiple times per day based on real time data from their grosens. I also figured out that total daily irrigation needs average roughly 20% of real volume. Measured runoff and tweaked the timing a little more and there it was. All through 8 site manifolds coming off a main line. When I handled them at the chop to my surprise they looked and felt like straight hydro (dwc etc...) but not quite as huge (a good thing). Yield can probably be better though cause we had a pretty serious cold snap here, but the white is more purple than I've ever seen her, a very rare thing.

@pop_rocks: having that inside sun to come to when it's 5 degrees outside is priceless, a real moral booster in the winter!

Edit: Just realized I'm in the soil forum...sorry guys! I'll keep the hydro talk on the down low lol.

What's up mudraya, I don't think it's a problem to talk about hydro. This isn't an uptightgroup we talk about may non soil subjects.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

The grow area is the warmest and brightest place in my house and when I can't stand the winter chill I can at least get away for a little while down there. If I ever expand to a larger built in room maybe I can even have room for a chair in there or something LOL.

Yes, trichinosis was some scary shit back then and I can see why people just cooked the shit out of everything. Also the pork 40 and 50 years ago was much fattier so it could stand up to higher temps. I think I read that there hasn't been a case of trichinosis in over 25 years and it's not an issue any more, that's why your seeing pork served medium these days. Your right that old habits are hard to break and many people would rather be safe than sorry.

I think the tent stays warmer for at least a couple reasons. It's closed up and when lights are on it holds heat where as the other room is open to the rest of the basement. Also the tent is close to the center of the basement and the other area is right against an outside wall. The wall is cooler and the concrete flor might be cooler closer to the wall as well. The under stairs area is about 3-1/2 feet wide and maybe 10 or so feet deep but the stairs come down and reduce headroom so I can use about a 3-1/2 by 5 foot section which my 4' t5 covers well. I think it's a great place to veg plants but my clones and seedlings are happier in the tent. They both have the same light so no difference there.

Good afternoon Mudraya.

No problem talking about whatever grow style here. I love to hear about how others do it and learn about diffrent systems. I grow in soil because I'm not a very good grower and soil is easiest for me to learn in. Someday I'd love to experiment with other growing methods, once I learn how to do a good job in soil that is.

It sounds like you've done some good calculating on irritating and have a great system. I've often thought about doing some automation for my watering so that I could get away for a few days here and there and not have to find someone to hand water for me. I love spending time with my plants but feel a little like a slave to them when all my buddies go camping and I can't go because I have plants to care for.

Update and pics

Update and pics

Greetings friends.

It's been a while so let's do a quick update on what's growing in the jungle. I've got the 4 91xSL clones that just went into flower about a week ago. They are filling in nicley and getting their streach on. They look really healthy so far and happy. Here is a pic of them in the 3x3 with the 600 on them.

I'm really liking how the red eye Jedi seedlings are looking. Nice tight node spacing and happy, healthy leaves. I'm going to raise the light and let them strech up a bit to make it easer to see the presex at the nodes. I will be running clones of these plants, along with a GSC and maybe a Blackwater (depending on how many REJ girls I get) on the next flower cycle, if I can get clones to root for me this time LOL.

The REJ were potted up a few days ago into 8" pots and are really taking off.

So that's about it for the jungle right now.,it should get interisting in a couple weeks when the 91xSL start to stack buds. In other notes I had a power outage a few nights ago that cost the girls their last 4 hours of light that day. I'm sure they will be fine as long as I don't get any more interruptions, but I wish I had a back up generator for these types of situations. We get more power outages during the summer due to thunderstorms so I might have to keep my eye open for a used generator this spring.

no worries on talking about your set up, mudraya
like p'fan said, we are pretty easy going around here and are more interested in sharing ideas regardless of medium
plus i think your drip set up could easily be used for any soil so its still helpful to anyone wanting help wht automating their set up
/ i was mainly asking what you grew in to get an idea of water retention; hydroton dries out pretty fast while rockwool/coco hold water well
glad you are happy with your harvest, have you sampled yet?

those young plants are beauties,fiddy
i like the overlap in the leaf fingers and the overall structure
a little streach will also give you some options as far as choosing spots to clone, i like to have at least a couple inches of stem between nodes before i sink them into the rooter cubes
maybe placing some insulation between the outer wall and the grow area could help?
it sounds like a great space to grow
so what are your plans for the big game coming up?
are you going to grill out or go watch the game someplace?
a friend was talking about firing up his smoker and throwing a super bowl party, but i am more inclined to just stay home and enjoy the game by myself (and the mrs of course)
