Hey Pop Rocks, must be something going around. I was up at 445, earlier than I get up for work. Did some garden chores until the lights went off at 6. Now I am hanging with the kiddos, watching cartoons.

Not much going on this weekend, garden stuff. I have the drip system most of the way built. Doing another defoliation. So the new led light I got is going to have to be turned down. My clones turned yellow (I was warned they eat more under this light). Going to turn it down some. I am going to be popping some seeds soon, for another seed run in the small room. The big room is stacking nicely got about 4 weeks left on that run.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Good afternoon Packerfan.

I've been spending some time in the garden as well, did transplanting the last couple nights and had to rearrange my veg space accordingly. It's time well spent.
I had similar issues with my clones eating themselves a while back. I find that with my DWC cloner I keep the 4 bulb t5 about 3 feet or so off the clones and they do great, closer and it's just too much for them.
I'm glad to hear things are good in your garden and I hope you have a great weekend too...Fiddy.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

I have that same issue with not being able to fall back asleep in the morning. Sometimes I try to kid myself and lay there for a while but it's best if I just get up and going.
I've lost 6 pounds in the last couple weeks by just getting more exercise and eating more reasonable portions of slightly healthier food. I don't want to do a crazy diet and so far just cutting back is working. I use to be kind of a "recreational eater" big portions of food all the time weather I was even hungry or not. I still want to eat steak and all the good stuff just not as much of it. So far it's going great and I'm not feeling like I'm depriving myself or anything. As we age it's good to take a look at ways to stay fit, or in my case get fit again. I've cut back on the alcohol because of the calories too.

That's great that the Mrs is cutting out the alcohol. My wife rarely drinks and it's great to have a sober driver when we go out. I really get the best relaxation from a couple drinks and a bowl so it's really hard for me to give that up, but the all day drinking that the football season sometimes brings is something I'm ok giving up.

Glad all is well...Fiddy.

Hey Pop Rocks, the leds came from Ichabod Crane, a member here, their is a thread about them. They pull 197 watts. They pump out some serious light.you can turn down the driver, which I need to do. Check out the thread they are impressive, I showed a buddy mine, now he wants a couple. They produce zero heat.

I am blessed with a wife who doesn't drink, I always have a designated driver. Deffinately comes in handy. I have been thinking about age lately , turning 39 in May, probably going to have a FUCK 40, 39th birthday party. I will need a designated driver that night.

At Fiddynuts, I have been trying to lose weight the last few months. I am down 25 pounds. Could stand to lose another 60 pounds. I am happy that even with the holidays I still lost weight.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

heck yeah, guys!
way to go, both of you
those are some respectable numbers as far as weight loss goes
at our ages, just not gaining the weight, especially over the holidays, is a win in my book
/dropping pounds mean you guys are doing great!
its all about consistency,so lets keep it up and this time next year we will all be a little healthier

i hear you fiddy, i used to just eat to eat
/i was alwasy chewing on something
i still love food and the last thing i want to do is not eat the things i like
but moderate portions and less snaking goes a long way
i also quite drinking sodas every day
i would have one coke at lunch every day but i read somewhere if you could cut 100 kcal out of your diet every day, you would lose 10lb in a year
/this was last year... it works!
lets save those calories for the things we enjoy most, brother

hey thanks for the tip, p'fan
i will have to look for that thread and get myself up to speed
you are lucky man that your wife dosent drink and is cool enough to drive you place
hey man, 40 is still young and it sounds like you are young at heart so 39 is nothing
its not like we are kids anymore, but i dont think i would trade where i am at now in life for anything
/i had a great time growing up but im also having the best life right now
dude, 25lbs is a very respectable number and i think you can definitely lose another 60
just keep it doing what ever it was that got you here and time will do the rest
way to go friend
/ps will be posting some "baby pics" here soon

sounds like a great start to 2018
how about the rest of you goons?

Thats great Pack! Keep it up and you'll be thanking yourself. It takes time to get the weight off I've heard and it's healthy to loose a pound or two a week. The first few is the toughest right? :woohoo:

Thanks pop. I had a good workout this morning and feel great! I did a little too much eating and drinking for Sunday's games but got right back on track on Monday morning. I'm sure the holidays are tough on anyone's diet. I didn't start mine until after the new year so we will see how I do next year. You are right it's about a lifestyle change and defenatly a marathon not a sprint to get more healthy.

Your right soda is a complete waist of calories with no nutritional value whatsoever. I'm somewhat lucky I've never been a big soda drinker so I don't crave them or miss them at all. It sounds like cutting out some of the unnecessary calories has been great for you. Hopefully in coming months and years I'll be able to share more experience on what is working for me. But like we've mentioned I think smaller portions and healthier choices will go a long way. Now if I could just get the craving for an 1850 calorie cheesesteak off my mind LOL. Your totaly right we can save the calories for really good food that we love the most, and it taste even better when your practicing responsible eating.

that is awesome fiddy that you had a good work out this morning
do you go to the gym early or did you do something else?
yeah man, the holidays are tough
not only is it social custom to eat drink and be merry, but i think there is just a biological imperative to gain weight during the winter months
/i notice i used to loose a few lbs during the spring as my body readjusts to the warmer temps
but you are so right about it being a marathon and about changing your diet
dude, enjoy that cheesesteak! but balance it out over the day or the week
/if not send the cheese steak to me, that shit sounds good!
sometimes when im dead tired on the bike or i feel like ive just been walking too long i tell myself, this is how i earn my cheeseburgers
/thats usually worth a few more miles itself

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

Since I don't have to be at work until well after 9 o'clock and I'm up around 7 to feed Rufus anyway I have a great opportunity to work out in the morning before work, and I don't even have to get up any earlier to do so. The gym is only a couple blocks from home so I don't spend hardly any time getting there and back either. The only change I've had to make is that my garden chores have to be done after work since I dont have the couple hours of down time in the mornings anymore. If I do need to water in the morning I'll just get up a little early and be good. As the sun starts coming up earlier I wake a bit earlier so I'll have more time in the morning with the longer days. Once summer gets here and Rufus and I start playing disc golf in the morning before work I'll have to figure out how to make time for everything but I'm sure it will work out fine.

You are right that holladays and even just as the fall weather gets here and it starts to cool down I start eating more. Like I'm trying to put on a layer of fat for the winter or something. I'm sure I'll have to work extra hard to combat that next year.

I'm going to save the cheesesteak for when I reach a goal in my health or for after a long mountain bike ride when I burn that many and more calories. In fact when I get half way to where I want to be I'm going to attempt a porketta. Like you mentioned, it's ok to motivate yourself and reward your hard work with something you really like. I need to earn some cheeseburgers, been craving a great burger for a while, maybe if I really have a great workouts the rest of the week I'll treat myself.

Update and pics

Greetings friends.

Time for a jungle update. This morning I decided the 91xSL clones were big enough to start flowering. I potted them up a few days ago and they are growing like crazy. I don't want to outgrow my space like I usually do so time to flip them.

This will be my first time flowering out plants from clone and I'm looking forward to the experience. So far the clones are far less bushy, branchy, and leafy as the seed plants were. I'm guessing this is good and bad. The good is that I'll be getting much better light penetration through the the canopy, at least until the streach out and up. Not having as many leaves means not as much energy for the plant and I'm guessing that will affect yeild. I guess I'll know in a couple months or so.

Here is a group shat and a couple closer shots of the clones.

And now one of them in their new home.

Before moving the plants this morning I took the time to clean out the flower tent and put a new carbon filter in there. I also taped up a few seams and around the Velcro window coverings on the tent. I suspect I had a couple of light leaks and I hope this takes care of them. I'm excited to have plants in flower again and the first few weeks of bloom is always an exciting time in the grow.

What's up jungle mates,
So I finally , got the drip system together tonight, I need to add ball valves to the risers so I can adjust the flow some. It's pretty awesome to water 80 plants in 2 min. Only have to flip the timer on.

Fiddynuts , I bet they run better from clone. Those girls look healthy. I itching to pop some seeds. The headbangers, and the black lime are calling to me.I just need to reset the little room for the next round of veg for the big room. I am about a month out from harvesting that room. Busy, busy lately .

Good afternoon Packerfan.

That's sweet you got your drip system working. Man 80 plants must have been tedious to hand water, especially watering everyday. It takes me at least 1/2 hour to water my 4 big pots that I flower in, every three days.

Thanks and I hope you are right that these girls do even better from clone. They did so well from seed that any improvement would be a huge success. I like the structure they are showing right now and I hope they fill out just enough to fill the tent and make enough energy to make big tight buds. I've thought about defoliation of my really bushy plants in the past but could never pull the trigger and get myself to do it. I know it works well for some grows but some have had bad experiences with it and there is much debate about when and how much to take off.

I'm really looking forward to hearing about how the headbangers and black lime do for you as well. I've heard nothing but good things about them. Feel free to post up pics here if you like.

Good afternoon Packerfan.

I like your thinking re:"we grow buds not leaves".

Just a couple questions.
Do you defoliate based on how bushy the individual plant is or just do it to all plants?
Would you say you take 25%, 50% or more or less leaves off or is it plant dependent?

I try to pull the leaves that are blocking the budsites. I work top down. Probably 60-75 % of the large fan leaves.

Good morning Packerfan.

I will give it a try when these girls bush up and start blocking light. Some day when I run a monocrop I'll try some side by side to get a real idea of the how it works. These 4 girls grew out somewhat diffrent from each other from seed and I'm sure they will from clone too. looking forward to seeing how this works.

upper left, lower left and lower right are all the loctite x's
the only Black lime reserve is in the upper right corner
i started with five seeds each and for both 4/5 popped within the first few days
for some reason, two of the black lime seedlings just sort of folded over on themselves soon after sprouting
like the middle of their stems would crimp and the plant would start to die soon after
the Loc/WD was a fast starter and seemed to be doing well
im going to keep my fingers crossed and hope the lone black lime is a female

thats a nice looking line up there fiddy!
are you starting any new seeds too or do you plan to just run clones this next flower cycle?
do you have more cuts of these same plants in veg going?
/sorry if i missed something and all this has been covered my man
that is great that you can find time before work to exercise
i think its the best way to start a day and it also gets it out of the way so if you get busy, you still got your work out in
we went for a night hike this past week and saw some really cool frogs out on the trail (they were a mottled green/greysih color) in addition to the typical night life (rabbits and deer)
it was plenty wet and im hoping all the water gives us a really nice spring
did you watch the games or do any cooking this weekend ?
/tell us more about the porketta
i wanted to get pizzas ordered in, but since it was just going to be me home, i ended up grilling chicken instead
still enjoyed the games

Yeah I am running some of the seed run stuff again in the big room this round. I had a shitty yeild from them from seed, they look better, but I am not sure. I am 3 weeks away from harvest. I am super excited about the mendobreath clones they are stacking huge. Next run will be mostly mendobreath. I am going to pop some headbangers, black limes, and sour grapes for 1 more seed run in the small room. I am still fiddling with the drip system. I have to use ball valves to adjust the flow.. I went and bought tha valves. Well I was stoned and didn't pay attention and got 3/4 but needed half in. Got the right size tonight, and of course I ran out of Teflon tape. Grrr, I swear every project means a dozen trips to home depot. I didn't mind when the pro counter is open, the girls at the pro counter are hot. The regular cashiers are not so hot.

Those babies got some monster leaves. Bummer to hear about the limes. That white dawg sounds like it could be some fire.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

My weekend was pretty chill. Played a couple rounds of disc golf and watched the not nearly as good as last week's NFL games.

Your little ones are looking great! I'm hoping you get a lady Black lime too and I hope she is fire. The loctite x's are looking great too. Like Pack said, huge leaves and really healthy looking. Are you going to flower them from seed or wait and clone them for the flower run? I've had a couple seedlings that bent over and died on me, not sure why but better to run the stronger and healthier ones anyway.

I have clones that just went into flower and I've got the GSC and the Blackwater plus the 4 red eye Jedi seedlings for the next flower run. Once the red eye Jedi are sexed and I know how many lady's I have I'll figure out what to run next time. It will be a mixed run of first time clones on the next run. In fact I'm planning on running clones from here on out, even seed runs will be running clones of new seed plants so I can get a feel for how they will grow as clones. I just don't want to mess around with waiting to sex seed plants and then trying to flower them, they are always too big by the time I figure out what they are and pot them up for flower.

Right now I just have the clones in flower and the 6 from seed in the tents. I failed to get clones to root of the 91xSL and I had tossed the moms so if I want to keep them around I'll have to take some cuts from the girls in flower. I think my cloner dosent work in my other veg area like it does in the veg tent or I'd have the new moms allready. I'm on the fence about how much space I want to dedicate to keeping moms of the 91xSL. I have another half pack or so of the seeds so I can always pop more in the future if I don't keep clones.

That's cool your getting some nice night walks in. I've always thought frogs were pretty cool and very well adapted to life in or out of the water. I didn't think this weekend's games were nearly as good as last week's but I did watch most of them. No suprised that New England won, but was suprised to see the Vikings loose by so much. I did cook up a smokey pork loin roast on Sunday. Very tasty and much healthier that a huge bowl of pulled pork butt. I grilled some chicken as well on Saturday night. I'm eating a lot more chicken breast lately and loving it.

I hope your week is off to a great start too...Fiddy.

Good afternoon Packerfan.

I hope you get a better yeild on the second run of the seed plants. I'm glad to hear that your mendobreath are killing it. Sounds like a great lineup for your next seed run too!

I've heard that the droppers take a little time to get dialed, but it's worth it when you do. I can relate to having to make multiple trips to Home Depot, most of my projects go that way. Your Home Depot must be special, I never see hot chicks at the ones here...Fiddy.

I don't really have anything to contribute but just wanted to say this is an awesome thread, good vibes in here.
Good afternoon Mudraya.

Welcome and thank you. I'm glad you enjoy the thread. Feel free to post up what you are growing here or more about yourself if you like? We are a just a few chill guys trying to grow some great weed, but we also like to talk about life in general. Glad to have you here...Fiddy.
