awesome, p'fan!
sounds like your stockings will be full too
its been really cold here at night, what have your temps been like?
enjoy them sticky fingers,brother

It's been in the low 30s at night. Low 60s for the high temps. Been crazy windy lately. A couple fires locally, took me 1 and a half hours to get home yesterday.

I am excited to get chopping. I am pretty sure I got 3 keepers, 1 ghost og, 1 terpanado, and one Las Vegas lemon skunk x Triangle kush. The Las Vegas is so frosty it looked like it still had a lot of white hairs, but it was frost upon closer inspection.

Hey Tribe
Fiddy I want that in my room, I do love that lavender look.
Sent in my order for Bodhi seeds Gogi and Zippolite. I want to try some of that mexican Sativa. And the free Gold well that just sealed the sale for me.
On the Aloe salve. I put a couple cups of the gel in a blender with half a cup of yellow root. Turn it on and pour in melted wax till it gets stiff. Thats the basic idea. sometimes Ms Hazrd add some lavender or other such aroma. I have added all sorts of other herbs friends suggested but come back to this basic mix. It is great for small dings and rough skin. Been using it since early 70s and it makes a nice homemade gift I have never had a bad reaction from anyone so I guess the yellow root is not an allergen to people. I have in the past suggested mountain remedys to fjolk and it went poorly so I keep the healing arts on the down low. I had an older neighbor lady who could heal most things with something from her pantry. Thrush in babies was one of her skills. I miss that witchy woman. Some day I will name a cut after her I know she would approve. It would have to be a pain reliever that makes you giggle. Any suggestions?:tiphat:

Greetings friends.

I was excited to do some harvesting last night and my bro came over to help. He had just got back from CO yesterday and he brought a bag of goodies back with him. We sampled a few diffrent concentrates that he brought back. My two favorites were the light of jah and the chemmy jones. The chemmy jones was so good it is exactly the flavor profile I'm looking for. I need to get my hands on some of those beans for sure. He had a couple bags of flower as well that were very good. After all that sampling we were way too high to chop any plants so the harvest will have to wait a few days.

three weeks out is a long time so hopefully they will finish up soon and not set your schedule back
you are going to have some nice variety of stash my man
now that you mention it, i really dotn know what to call the spikes on a succulent plant
but fronds just sounded right

Yes for sure bud, it looks like it's good that I don't have rooted cuts vegging yet or I'd have to be in a rush to get them to flower and I'd be tempted to hurry the lady's that are needing more time to finish. I hope this run is good in flavor and potency, after tasting some of that chemmy jones I really am excited to find something like that. I don't think I'm going to find that in these plants but maybe something else good. I'm needing to practice my patience and keep my fingers crossed.

I am flushing as we speak, the big room is on 12/12. I will be chopping next week Friday probably.

It sounds like an exciting time in your garden. I hope your plants are rewarding you for all the love you put into them. When flushing coco do you give just water or water with very light nutes? I still have that block of coco and I still want to play with it a little. I'm thinking I'll put a clone or two in a pot with coco and just see how healthy I can keep it in veg to get my feet wet so to say. Once I can keep a plant in veg healthy I'll think about giving coco a try with something I want to flower out.

Thanks Rodehazrd. I thought I noticed a purple hue on the buds but wasn't sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me. Congratulations on your bodhi acquisition, I'm sure you'll be happy with what you find in there. The (AG?) freebie sounds great, what a classic strain and should have that old school flavor and buzz. I'll be interested to see how long those take to finish.
That is unfortunate that you had a bad experience sharing what you call mountain remedies. I guess a lot of people are set on the western medicine approach and feel like they need to get the expensive pharmaceutical drugs for something to work well. That is very interisting about your old neighbor lady and her special skills. The world needs people like that but I'm afrade that they might be disappearing because of western medicine. Maybe a cut of that Acapulco Gold would fit the bill for her namesake.

we made it to the weekend!

chemy jones sounds like a good cross
im assuming its chem x trainwreck, which are both heavy hitters
how would you describe the taste you are after?

rode, i grew up on mexican sativas and they can provide an experience that is hard to beat.
usually very cerebral, this is the kind of weed that takes you to cartoon land and has you laughing your ass off.
i havent smoke good mex in years but im sure its still around and hope you find something really special
great story about the medicine woman you once knew
i think the best approach is to combine the best of the west('ern medicine) with the age old cures to achieve optimal health
thanks for the aloe recipe brother!
we will be cutting some large fronds next time we hike and i will have to find a place where i can get some yellow root
for the wax is just regular old bees wax or the kind you get at the craft store to make candles ok?

p'fan
looks like the winds have finally died down and they can get a handle on the fires here in san diego
when i went to lunch on thursday, there were at least two plumes of smoke on the horizon and it smelled like burning wood
i just sat in my car to read for about 20min and by the time i was ready to go back the horizon to the north was covered with dark smoke
hopefully they can get these fires under control and i hope you and the fam are safe

so has anyone started their christmas shopping?
mrsChicky was looking at some boots the other night, the kind you wear when horse back riding (not cowboy kind but more equestrian style)
they seem to be really popular right now and all the girls are wearing them
between that a a couple other things i think i am off to a good start

merry christmas guys and i hope everyone is having a great saturday!

Hey pop rocks, we are safe and sound, the fires are under control here. Crazy what's going on up in Ventura. I saw the fire was close to 6 flags. I saw a video of the fire in LA, looked like Armageddon. Pretty sure chemmy Jones is chem x Casey Jones.

Fiddynuts, all is looking nice and frosty here. I was up till 130 cutting clones, watering, and doing a few modifications to the room. I need to swap bulbs and cut the rest of the clones tonight. The big room , is getting crazy, going to be trellising next weekend and trimming. Very excited to get some fresh bud in.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have 1 more week of school and then I am off for 7 weeks, I really need the break, it's been crazy with all that I have on my plate.

Good morning pop_rocks.

I'm glad the weekend is here too. I was so busy last weekend that the last couple weeks kind of ran together and I'm looking forward to getting some time to chill this weekend. I have a few things to do like get to the grow store to get a drying rack and some other things. I also have to get my second t5 light up and running and take more cuts for next round and pop seeds for two rounds from now.

Chemmy jones is chemdog D X Casey jones and from what I've read it was created by connoisseur genetics. I've been unable to find a US seed bank that carries connoisseur so I might have to figure how to order from one of the overseas seed banks. It has all the skunk (roadkill type not the sweet type) and fuel plus some pine and also a very "chemmy" like strong fertilizer or something. Very strong and hits like a truck. I'd love to find a good mom with that flavor profile and buzz.

I'm still slacking on the Christmas shopping. Most of my friends will get buds so I'm set there but I have to get my wife a couple things and maybe something for my mom and mom in law. I still think I have time to do mostly online shopping so that I can avoid the crazy scene at the stores. I haven't seen the equestrian boots here yet but I'm not very observant or in the know about fashion. If she likes the look I'm sure they'll be a great gift. My wife wants slippers.

I'm glad the fires are staying away from your place. Big fires are unpredictable and scary. I remember flying over the Yosemite fires in like 01 or 02 coming back to the Bay Area and you could smell the smoke in the plain at 20k feet and see the sea of flames from up there.

I hope everyone has a great weekend...Fiddy.

Good morning Packerfan.

I'm glad your girls are getting their frost on. Sounds like you have your hands full in your garden. It's a good kind of busy I guess. I was up late trimming a couple of my plants last night and I've got similar garden chores to do this weekend too. I am excited for some new flavors as well.

It sounds like your school break is coming at a good time, with all the garden work and harvest upcoming. I bet the 7 weeks will fly by and you'll be back in the books before you know it.

I hope you have a productive weekend and get a little time for yourself to relax some...Fiddy.

Hey Fiddynuts, I have heard great things about connoisseur genetics. I am sure you will be happy with them.that road kill skunk is hard to find now. I remember getting some buds that smelled like a skunks ass when I was younger. I miss that stank.

Good afternoon Packerfan.

I hadent heard of connoisseur before I started researching this strain. Glad to hear they have a good reputation. You are right that the good old roadkill skunk is mostly gone and I miss it as well and will continue to look for it. The chemmy jones has some of that, not sure how many seeds they the guy who grows it had to go through to find the keeper but it's really killer smoke.

Good afternoon pop_rocks.
It looks like several of the popular overseas seed shops carry connoisseur. I'll look for the thread about overseas vendors and see which makes the most sense to order from.

That pic of th fire is crazy! It really gives perspective on how big they are. We don't see many fires like that around here. Just wow!

I am finally getting one of those mesh hanging circles for drying. I've be n fucking around with string, fishing line and hooks to hang buds for way too long. It's a pain in the dick tying the stalks up and I need a better method. I think this one had like 5 or 6 mesh levels so I can keep the plants seperate and it will save me a lot of time and effort. Not sure what it took me this long to get one.

I use metal tie wire with metal wire hangers. The work room, has 5 wires run near the ceiling. I should be able to get most of my big crop on the lines. I also have a drying rack, it works, just puts some flat spots on the buds, it's not as bad if you flip your buds daily. I can put about 4-6 ounces per level, if it's broken down to nugs.

Hello Tribe
We got snow and a hard wind today, not my fav but I'm mudding drywall so I will be warm got a push on to finish a guest bed and bath remodel before Christmas. We are scaling down and storing our trinkets so we can Air BB the place when we go to Mesa this spring.
I have a new soaking tub for two and all new fixtures ready to go in. I hope that works out I could use a little help with the budget.

On the wax I just use what I get from the grocery, bees wax is nice aroma but it wont matter either way. just something to hold the aloe and yellow root together

Those fires look nasty out there guys that shit will double back on you if the wind kicks back up I will light a candle for your safety. Did I see someone saw Floridian post up somewhere? Hope he's well.
I want some of those net drying racks too for now I hang in the attic mostly if its not real cold or hot. In winter it drys very slow but thats often good. Strip off the fans and hang her by the toes.

For an overseas vendor I have used Attitude often and always been happy they have most stuff chemmy jones for sure not much bodhi and not as good prices either as glc. You must pay for the special shipping to be sure you get it. They send some gift with it inside and you don't get original pkg often but its good seeds and I liked every gift.

Good afternoon Packerfan.

I've been using coat hangers with several short pieces of fishing line wh hooks on the end of them. I can stick the hook through the stalk and let them hang but the lines get twisted and sometimes I get a hook in my finger. Looking forward to trying the rack, thanks for the tip on turning the buds daily.

Good afternoon Rodehazrd.

We got about an inch of snow last night. It's the first measurable snow of the season here and it seem to be sticking to the ground even though there isn't frost yet. Looks like more cold weather for the next week.

Good luck on your bathroom project. You always seem to have some projects going how do you stay motivated. I get so overwhelmed with working on stuff around the house. Keep up the good work bud.

I've heard good things about attitude from you and others, it sounds like a solid place to start. I'll check them out. I know that getting them paid is more work with currency conversions and things like that. Maybe Bitcoin is a good way to do things today but I've never used anything like that. I'll do some looking into that this weekend.

thanks for the kind wishes,rode
the area i live in is safe but a lot of others are not so lucky
i can probably get parafin wax pretty cheap at the store so i might go with that to start with
if you recommend the attitude seed bank, thats a solid endorsement in my book
/sometimes its worth it to pay a little more for better service
what type of payment did you use?

looks like you might be in for a white christmas, f'nut!
/that seems so novel to someone living in s.cal
it was freaking in the high 70's today and it looks like the winds might be kicking back up again
to tell you the truth i wish it were colder right about now
it just dosent feel like christmas when its this warm
hopefully the next week will get back to normal
hope you like the mesh racks, they work great hanging in a dark closet
for drying, i hang large sections first or lay them on the mesh rack
after a few days or so, i trim the nugs off the branch and then back to the rack for a final dry
you might be able to find a deal on the ones you use for laundry, but they usually dont have the side walls so maybe its better to go with racks made specifically for bud

I want to show some of my girls I have this tip issue on the candy kush they stay light for a long time. as they mature they finally green up. I gave extra N at the switch and two weeks in, it helped a lot but still got it on the tops. Other strains not affected
Also a shot of my Co2 rig and the Cookies Kush with the skinny leaves she filled in but not anything like the pix I have seen.
