Good afternoon Badfishy.

Well roll damn tide then LOL. Sounds like they were lucky to get in with their schedule this year. Big time collage football at its best.

Well, Ohio state last year snuck in, and laid an egg... without a BLOW out, there was no way they were sneaking back in.

Good evening Badfishy.

OSU can suck a fat one! They lost to an Iowa team that wisco beat easily. They were just in the right place at the right time to make some big plays in the first half.

Good morning friends.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was fine but very busy. I helped a friend move and I know we all love moving. Many of his other helpers didn't show up or were too old/feeble to do much so I did most of the heavy lifting. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and part of a Sunday. So glad that is over.

It's too bad that Wisconsin couldn't find a way to stop Ohio state in the champ game on Saturday night. The kids played so well this year and were so good at not giving up the big plays. Ohio state seems to just have their number. Maybe next year.

I'd love to report that my second attempt with the DWC cloner went as well as the first but it hasn't. The first set of cuts I took for this round were off my extra set of moms that I let get deficient. They did eventually root but the plants looked terrible by the time they did and I didn't want to start the next round with shitty plants. I took more cuts off the other mothers but they haven't seemed to want to root and I had some slime in th res so I shut it down, trashed the cuts and cleaned the shit out of everything with bleach and h2o2. I pruned the moms pretty good last week to keep them from getting too big and they got a pissed so I will give them a couple more days to recover before taking new cuts. I think a part of the issue is I had the cloner much closer to the light this time and they had to eat themselves. I was trying to keep them from stretching for the light and keep the nodes tight but I think it backfired on me. Better luck next time I hope.

Let's kick some ass this week gentlemen and finish the year off strong...Fiddy.

big time for sure!
the way some NFL teams are playing, i think bama' could actually win against half the league right now
i dont follow college ball as much as i should but its good to see some sports fans having fun up in here!

slime in the res?!?
thats weird
/as long as no light is getting in, there should not be any alge
what color was it?
i tihnk you did the right thing by tossing the mess and cleaning it all with h2o2
stunted clones would give you mediocre results
good call on the light being too close, fiddy
i think you are spot on with your diagnosis, Dr.
fresh cut clones are like on life-support and need to be babied.
until they have roots, the plants are living off their reserves and cant handle that much light
once you start to see some white roots growing you can move the lights closer

I hope this finds all well and in a good mood.
Pop I hope you don't see a fire truck in your area looks like some bad ass fire weather down there. That sounds like good advice on lighting the clones. Can't rev it up till the tank gets filled some.

Slime in the bubbler makes no sense to me what were the temps? I want to fire up my big tubs for the winter season but the rez underneath could get that slime and I would never know. Working toward a notill effort I may have to abandon the rez and just go with some beds but that means I can't leave for a couple weeks without watering in April when they are big. I require that much beach time to be prepared for the Derby on the first Saturday in May. You getting cold yet Arctic Express seems to be chugging your way. Please keep it.

Fishy
I never used aloe but want to, I have a huge plant I make salve from every three years or so. When do you apply and do you prepare your own? Its like a growth hormone right? I'll try most anything to get a more organic method I still hang on to the CaNo3 in veg and stretch to keep the yellow away and I use a silica additive for some K at stretch too. Should likely go for some guano for that but i'm not perfect yet according to ms Hazrd. If were I'd get the big head and you guys would have to take me down a notch. Hope your next run has less interesting events. A nice boring no problem steller grow:plant grow::plant grow:

Good morning pop_rocks.

The calm before the holladay Storm for sure brother. It's going to be 2018 before we know it. I'm looking forward to a green '18!

Your right some of these collage teams are looking pretty good. Wisconsin had a defense that sure seemed to be on a professional level for a lot of the year. Maybe they lacked a little speed in the secondary, but I think they could have shut down a lot of NFL offenses.

I had just a little slime it was clear and seemed to cling to the bottom of the res. It took about 3 weeks to get noticeable, which is longer than that thing should have to ever run anyway. The discs have a hole in them for the stem and I think that lets a little light in to the res on the empty ones. I think doing a full clean up and starting over is going to be the best way forward. I want to start with the most healthy plants possable and keep them really happy this grow. I think that having the light too close was a major problem as well. Like you said the cuts need to be babied. I'm going to let the moms get a couple more new nodes on top and get a few cuts from each.

Good morning Rodehazrd.

The res gets nice and warm in the veg tent upper 70's I think. I'm not too worried because I think a little light gets in there and I shouldn't be running it for long enough to have problems. This run I put cuts in and then more cuts in after a week and let them all sit in there too long. You may have to use a dripper system for no till beds but your tubs seem to work well for you in the past so I think your fine using them the way you have been. I wouldn't worry about them, not sure if a little slime is even a bad thing for plants. I'm still jealous that you can get away for that much time without having to trust your lady's to someone.

Yesterday was so nice close to 70 degrees but the front passed through last night with some thunderstorms and it was in the 20's this morning. Arctic air is here this week with predicted highs in the 20's later this week. I think it's going to stay cold this time, it just feels like it. I'm sure some of it will be headed your way eventually but I'll try to hold it off some for ya.

i hear you fiddy, 2018 will be here in a blink of an eye
im going to make the most of the holidays and enjoy every last moment of 2017
this was a great year and i want to savor it to the end!
how often have you been changing the water in the cloners reservoir?
when i ran hydro, i would let the water go for a few weeks as long as everything looked good, but would change it out every three or four weeks regardless
sounds like a good idea letting the moms grow a bit before taking the next round of cuts
do you plan on keeping them around for cuts or will you eventually flower them out?

i will be sure to keep an eye out for smoke on the horizon, rode
we are having cold santa ana winds right now, so the fire danger is pretty high
luckily the fires that ripped through a few years ago burned up most of the brush, but you can never be too sure
how do you make salve from the aloe plant, rode?
we have tons of them growing in the canyon where i live and it would be fun to make a topical
even if its non psychoactive, its a good thing to have on hand

hope everyone is having a great week and enjoying the holiday season!

Good morning pop_rocks.

You are right we have a few weeks left of 2017 and should finish strong. Let's enjoy it. Bring on the holidays and the snow and everything else that comes with this season. I'm ready!

I change the res about once a week in the cloner. I just dump it and refill it quickly and get the cuts back in as soon as possable. I think I just need to keep it clean and take healthy cuts and they should root in a week or so. Taking cuts at diffrent times and keeping the thing running for weeks at a time is probably not what it was designed for. I'm not going to flower out the moms, unless as a last resort if I can't get anything to root for this next run. I hope not to be in that spot.

My mom always had an indoor aloe plant and when we would get a sunburn or some road rash from falling off a skateboard or something she would just break off a piece and crush the gel out of it and rub it on us for a natural healing lotion.

Update and pics

Update and pics

Greetings friends.

How about a little mid week update. I have had to try hard to hold off from harvesting the 2 plants that I think are just about ready. I wanted to chop them last weekend but then I remembered that I should wait a bit longer when I think they are ready. I may take one or two of them down tonight. The third plant is getting closer but the fourth is still a ways off. If it goes really long I will have to take that into consideration if I want to keep it and spend the extra time every time I run her. Also interested in seeing how much quicker it finishes from clone on the next run before I make any decisions.

Here is the group shot.

Here is a small top on one of the two that are just about finished.

And one of the plant that wants to go longer. It's the bigger colas in back. It's got some clear trichomes and the pistils are not turning brown.

love the color on that bud fiddy!
the group shot looks great and it looks like your stocking is going to be filled with fat bud this christmas
if you pull the first two tonight, how long do you plan to go with the late bloomers?
some plants take longer, but its often worth the wait
one thing you can do to encourage them to ripen is to add an extra hour to their night cycle
some growers swear by the 13-11 light cycle and it might be able to help push the late bloomers into ripening
everything is looking really good there brother
we used to rub the aloe plant directly on cuts and burns too
i know where there are a few fat ones and im sure they would not miss a few fronds

Good afternoon pop_rocks.

Thanks brother. They look like they are fading nicely and it's finally time for that. Your right the stockings will be full of nice green bud this year.

I plan on waiting at least a couple more weeks on the late bloomers if they need it. If still not done I will have to figure something out. I'm at day 62 today so 2 more weeks would be allmost 11 weeks. I might try going 11/13 like you suggest. I don't want to screw up my next runs timing but since I don't have anything rooted yet I'm at least 3 weeks away from needing flower space. I have to set up the second t5 soon as well.

I was wondering what you call the aloe plant spikes I was going to call them leaves but knew that wasn't right. Fronds was the word I was looking for.
