ended up not going on that hike this morning

thats good that at least one plant might have some hope
i think 3x3 isnt that bad a space if you are just growing for just yourself or maybe a few people
like you said, other plants compete with her for light and just overall space
/ i think plants can feel things around them
also more plants create "stale" spots of air and restrict airflow
its not some thing i would do often, but in this case i would def run another cycle just for this lone lady
while it might not be efficient as far as g/watts, it will give you some smoke to hold you over till you can address that problem you have been having wiht that well pipe

next time she says you "... never do anything with her anymore." , ask her what she has in mind.
like: "what would you like to do"
/and say it with a smile
i feel you when you lamet about how hard it is to know what kinds of things your lady would like to do when she says something liek that
/ive been there, brother! we arent mind readers
its good that the two of you are going to talk and be sure to get it out first and foremost how much you love her and want to be with her
/when i went through this wiht mrsChicky one of the first things i laid out to her, was how i hoped we would spent the rest of our lives together
but if its just you guys not doing things together, you can fix that easily
even if you guys end up just watching tv together, make that something special between the two of you
/i used to watch that american horror story with the mrs
was like our littel date
but that shit started to freak me out so i stopped, now she watches it with our little girl (J- is actually a teenager)
#dontlikeit #tvtooscareyforme
Good morning pop_rocks.

Too bad about the hike, I hope you can reschedule for another weekend. I managed to get out for a couple rounds of disc but with temps in the 90's I sweated my balls off. It's swimming weather here for sure.

Gb#2 still looking good as of this morning. I chose the 3x3 because I knew I wanted to use a 600w light. I read a lot about w/sq. foot and it seemed like the best fit. I want to go a little bigger on my next tent or room if I build one out. You are right that it's should be plenty to keep me supplied and has done so since the first grow. I think that the plants would be more comfortable with a little more space to grow and branch out so maybe less plants in the flower tent in the future. I may even get up the courage to try a scrog soon. A square space kind of begs for that.
I think you are right that the plants can feel things around them. I had always kind of felt bad for them when I had 3 or 4 in there and they were so cramped against each other and the tent walls. I got kind of cought up on more plants more yield and more pheno chances. Rethinking that strategy. Let's hope this one stays a girl so I get some experience from this grow. And some great buds at the end would be great too.

Yes I have to be better at asking her what she wants. And to show genuine interest when planning something. Tell her I love her more often. You are right we arnt mind readers.
Today we are going to a pick your own strawberry farm. We will talk about things and try to reconnect a bit. We might go swimming too. She grew up on a lake and has always loved to swim. I'll tell har that I'm committed to her as I've always been and that I don't want to be without her. Sorry for the relationship drama guys it's not really like me but it was on my mind a lot the last few days.
That's funny you mention American horror. We use to watch that together as well. We gave up cable so we didn't get to see last season but did see the first 3 seasons I think. You are right that show could get super freaky. My wife loves scary movies and Halloween is her favorite holiday so she is really into it. I don't watch a lot of tv but FX has some cool series with American horror and Fargo is pretty good as well.

Hey Fiddynut, sorry to hear about the issues with the wife. Hopefully you can work things out. Marriage can be very challenging. It's hard for guys because we are usually focused on maintaining the home and bills, and we forget that women are sensitive and small things in a man's eyes are big things to women. Me and my wife went through hell for about 4 years, postpartum depression was severe for my wife. We had 3 kids in 4 years. I didn't understand for the first 2 years, because she didn't tell me that she was going through it. Even when she did tell me, I had a hard time understanding. We had to learn to communicate. We came from different types of families, her family is very controlling and manipulative. My family is very loving but also quite manipulative. I am used to speaking my mind, she's used to keeping things bottled up. We have come a long way and been through a lot in the 10 years we have been together. We've never cheated or even spent a night apart in anger. We tend to fight it out. The make up sex is the reward lol. I hope you guys can get things worked out.

Good morning pop_rocks.

Yep when it's hot it's hot here. And it's been over 90 the last 3 days and looking like it's going to get there today as well. It's usually humid when hot here as well. You guys have that Pacific Ocean air conditioner thing that helps cool off the air from the west. Looks like the rest of the week in the mid to upper 80's and then cooling off for next weekend for us. Maybe I'll be use to the heat by the time it moves on. I like it hot if I'm in the water swimming or jet skiing but for all the other activities in life I'm with you, the mid 70's are perfict.

Thanks again for letting me blow off some steam the last couple days. The wife and I had a nice day yesterday and got things headed in the right direction again. We went strawberry picking in the morning and then swimming in the lake near our house in the afternoon. We talked some and I listened to her concerns about us growing apart and I explained my side of things to her. I just have to be a little more willing to make time for her and tell her how much I appreciate her and what not. We finished the day with a stir fry I made and a couple shows on Netflix.

Not sure on the next tent size or room size. I think my 600w would be better in a 4x4 and just keep the plants more in the center. That would give them some room to branch out a bit. If I ever went bigger I'd be running multiple or diffrent lights. I think for now I'll try doing 2 plants in the tent I have and see how that goes. I still need a few good runs in a row b fore I start making changes. I need to learn how to get the most out of what I have before I go changing things. It will make me a better grower I think.

Good morning Packerfan.

Younar right that marriage can be some work. We usually have it easy and don't fight often. When we do have issues it's usually related to her not feeling like I appreciate her enough. Like you said I'm focused on maintaining the house and yard and working 10 hour days 5 or 6 days a week and paying bills. To me doing all that shows how much I care but she also has to hear me say it and take her out to do things together. Woman and men are programmed slightly differently in that way.

It sound like you have a good relationship with your wife. You guys have been through a lot and are stronger for that. I hope you guys have a long life together.

Good morning Rodehazrd.

Wow 35 years is a long time. Congratulations to you and the misses. I'm sure that time has taught you many good lessons.
I could be much better with getting her flowers and stuff like that. She is appreciate of it when I do. I just forget and get out of the habit easily. I also need to tell her I love her and that she looks good and that kind of thing much more often than I do.
That is a great idea to make coffee or something during a heated discussion to show her you care and that the discussion dosent change your feelings for her.
Il check out the inside out on Netflix, thanks for the suggestion...Fiddy.

Update and pics.

Update and pics.

Greetings friends.

Got a couple pics of the gb#2 this morning and thought I'd do an update. So far she seems to be developing plenty of female parts and no more mail parts. The one ball I found on her come off last week and I've been keeping a close eye on her ever since. I think if we can get thought the next couple weeks with her staying a girl she will be ok. I remember a comment from a well known breeder (skunk man Sam I think) where he said that weeks 2-5 were where they were most likely to hermie on you. Once you get to the latter half of flower you are a lot less likely to get hermies. Time will tell.

She is streaching her arms and legs and filling the space pretty well. If all goes well I'm going to be really interested to see how much she yields. She is also starting to frost up nicely for only day 20 of flower. Scent so far is lemon/lime soda.

Unless she is truly an exceptional plant potency wise,I wouldn't grow any of her clones.A single pollen sac shows her instability, her clone might have many sacs.Keep in mind too ther are two differing male parts that create pollen that could show themselves, you have your balls showing in earlier and mid flower and sometimes in late veg,and your nanners that show in the late flowering stage. The nanners if they show late enough are more of a nuisance than a game changer, although they can and will pollenate sexually mature ladies.Personally if they show either form keeping them for a perpetual is out of the question for me.One pheno that shows one ball or one nanner can show many balls or many nanners when you grow out its clone. It's just not worth the risk to me.100% stable female plants are all I would do a perpetual with

Looking good fiddynut. Did you take cuts of this plant?
Good afternoon Packerfan.

Thanks. Yes I took cuts but I've culled them and her sisters. I don't want to take any chances with pollination because I often have plants in veg and bloom at the same time. If one of her clones popped balls and I didn't notice them I'd be really pissed at myself. If it was chemdog or something I might be willing to take the chance but for now I just want to keep looking for stable plants that are more fun for me to grow.

Yep not taking any chances I culled her sisters and all cuttings of her and her sisters. As I mentioned above I want to find stable plants and then work with their cuttings in the future. If it was a super elite strain I'd be more inclined to take chances and try to keep her around. There were a lot of balls on the other two girls so those were out for sure. Like you said her clones could be more inclined to hermie so not going to take the chance. I'll be taking a chance growing any new strain but I had such good luck with the bodhi genetics last run that I'll spend the next few runs going through other packs of his stuff. 100% stable is what I'm looking for.

Edit: as far as the late nanners I'll keep an eye out for them. I have seen pics of them and hopefully I'll know what to look for. This will be the only run for this girl so she won't affect future grows.

sounds like the two of you had a really good time together and im glad to hear you are getting things back on track wiht the mrs
its not easy but its worth ever thing you put into it
lots of great input guys, sounds like we have all been there
/especially rode', wow 35 yrs!! tip of the hat my man

i think a 4x4 would be a good fit for your 600w
you will get better air circulation and more options as far as the overall layout goes
even if you stick wiht single plants in large containers, you could prob add one more bucket of soil to your grow
your 3x3 could be used for clones/veg with that florescent light you have
what are the watts/dimensions on that light
/maybe even hang two

the plant is looking really nice, man
do you ahve any more seeds of this strain?
as far as the cuts go, you are doing the right thing
if there is even a chance she is going to throw nanners, its best to just pass

Good morning pop_rocks.

Yep it was a nice day and good for the both of us. We both got really sunburned as well. As a bonus the wife made a strawberry rhubarb thing she calls a buckle. It's like a coffee cake that she usually mak s with blueberries but since we had the fresh strawberries and rhubarb from our yard she subbed them. I don't eat a lot of sweet things like that but it was really good.
Thanks again pop and others for the thoughts and suggestions. You guys are a big help and I appreciate it a lot.

Yes if I stick with tents a 4x4 will be a nice upgrade. My quickest path to more buds I to get a 4x4 and put the 600 in there, then get a 315cmh and put it in my 3x3. With those two as flower tents and my 2x4 for veg I'd be able to do a lot more. The t5 has to stay in the 2x4 because it's a 4' light. It covers that tent well and as long as I don't let them veg too long in there I can get a lot in there. Then I just need a mother/clone area and I'll be set. Then to scrog or not to scrog will be the question.

So far so good for the gb#2. Had a good look at her again last night and she is still clean.
She is frosting up nicely so far. Bud development looks great for only 3 weeks into flower. She was the runt of the 3 but I've already had to raise the light so she has been growing quick.
She is also using more water then before. I think it's because her pot is the only one in the tent and the air is dryer than with three plants in there. The light penetration is great with her branches spread out in there. I'm thinking about giving just water and no nutes next time she is dry since I'm watering every 2-1/2 days now. Maybe just water and cal/mag next watering.

How did your plants turn out? It sounded like you were happy with the early samples but how are they now with some cure time? I hope they are tasty and potent.

Fiddy I did 4x4 tent with my 1k and a single plant in 30 gal tub scrog she gave 6 oz I think with a good routine you could double that . It was one of my early tries without gypsum in my mix it was mostly happy frog and perlite. And I cut way early.
The scrog helps with the headroom f o r sure

Good afternoon Rodehazrd.

One of the reasons I got the 3x3 rather than the 4x4 was because of the size of the light I had. If I run the 600 in a 4x4 I'd keep the plants in the center 3x3 and let the extra room around the outside be extra space for them to branch out. I actually have a 1k light my bro and I got a bunch of years ago but it's an old magnetic ballast and the hood isn't cooled so I don't think I'd try to run it in this type of set up.

Bigger pots are something I'm going to have to consider if I decide to grow one plant at a time. I'll have to look at pots that hold a lot of soil but arnt really tall.

I love the freedom of being able to pull my plants out and water and care for them but scrog would be a great thing for the square space I have. If I can get over it I'll give scrog a try sometime, preferably when I'm running clones that I know are stable. If I was going with a scrog this grow I don't know if I'd have cought the hermie issue.

Thanks for sharing your experience Rodehazrd...Fiddy.

Fiddy if you could find a way to keep your tent cooled believe me nothing beats a 1K light, and theres nothing wrong with magnetic ballasts, the ballast problems I hear about these days are from electronic not magnetic ballasts.Nothing wrong with a 600 in a 3 by 3 thats for sure, and considering I've never grown with a 600 I probably should keep my cakehole shut.Just a huge fan of 1K's that's all, their penetrating aspects and just all around size and power cant be beat.Except for LED's from what I hear but I haven't tried those yet either. When I start back up its either double ended 1K's or LED's,I'm still undecided on that one.As for magnetic ballasts they rock and is all we had for years and years. After several years and I mean several they might hum a bit,but that's only because they don't know the words

The 4x4 would kick ass if you ran a vert donut with the 600. Have you ever checked out the vert section? Some awesomeness their. You cou of probably pull it off in the 3x3
