Bob Dylan 2006. Dylan is old but he can still play a show if you ask me.

i was actually pretty disappointed last time i saw Bob. 1 75 minute set. maggie's farm rocked, most of the rest of the show was mediocre at best imo.

best for me would be phish either 10-8-95 missoula mt or the '97 or '99 gorge runs. big cypress was the most epic and coventry the most emotional, but for overall quality of the show those would be my picks.

1. Motorhead, Belgrade, Serbia 03.28.1990.
I was so fuckin' drunk, that even a bunch of skinheads couldn't override me in a mosh-pit (Wtf. skinheads did on Motorhead concert, i'm not sure, maybe they wanted to sting some longahaired guy with the srcrewdriver?)
2. Disciplin A Kitchme, Nis, Serbia, somwhere in October 1997.
Rhytm&Blues x Drum&Bass (live Drum and live Bass) x Mexican landrace (i assume Guerreran) = Dancing all night long
3. Metallica (opening acts The Cult and Megadeth), Budapest, Hungary, somwhere at the end of June 1993.
My indica stone became real high at the end.

bobby's new stuff just doesn't quite hit it, I was honestly unimpressed with the phil and friends line up this year. when he had herring and kimock trading licks...or herring and hanyes.....that...was a sick lineup.....chris robinson and bryan adams and joan osbourne was no doubt the worst lineup he ever had. I never got to catch any dead shows but phish was my thing for a long time, stopped seeing them so much after the hiatus and diversified my tastes...yeah, don't go giving out your pt handle if its gonna let someone find out who you are....I mean...come on....lets not be dumb. but its nice to see some kindered souls here at the ic...

My favorite concert as far as experience was phish nye 2000 at big cypress... They played from 11:55 ish pm to just before 8:00 am no breaks, just wall to wall. The best part of that night for me besides the molly, liquid combo was 2001 at like 6am... I start rockin out pretty hard, and this older guy (40s) in front of us just started ripping his clothes off and dancing harder that anyone i've ever seen... he was definatly feelin the groove. The weirdest thing about this festival was there was no weed to be found anywhere after the first day. Everyone must have thought they would score when they got down there... whoops... bad idea. so that being said... After 2 days without weed... we head into the venue for the new years set... the security guards were letting everone in with whatever you wanted to bring... cameras video recorders, bottles of liquor, drugs... anything... the security were just high-fiving and giving hugs... one of the best feelings I've ever had at a concert. So were walking in high fiving the security, and I see a kid 10 feet in front of me reach in his backback and take out 3, 1gallon bags that looked to be filled with weed. He throws them in the air... and I dive like some kind of prodigy tight end diving in the endzone... I got one!
and I look down at this miracle... it was filled with lawn grass.... what a thrill that was though. So that was basicly the best time of my life... and the 2 years prior to that that I spent following them around.

I generally don't like the folks at pt, I'm scared to post anything cause it just starts constant fighting. Sometimes I browse rec.music.phish, but that place is a ghost town nowadays. I'm glad to see so many phans around here... I thought i was alone... except for hijack. any way Lets start a phish thread...

The best show i've seen this year was john schofield w/ mmw . That was some tasty shit!

My Favs

My first Dead show, Landover, MD, fall 1988. They played Ripple for the first time in 7 years - at my first show! People wept. It was incredible. I hooked up with some awesome blotter and dance the night away. It was magical. I lost my car in the parking lot - wandered around for 1/2 an hour trying to find it. When i did find it I was peaking so hard I just cranked up the Dead tape in the stereo and sat on the Trunk waiting to come down a bit.

Grateful Dead with Sting - Jerry jammed with Sting and i think (i was fried) that Don Henely came out and sang with them. Bruce Hornsby played with the Dead that night as well. Washington, DC early 90's

Dave Brubeck - Bardovon Theater, Poughkeepsie, NY Oct, 2001

Blues Traveler - Poughkeepsie, NY Aug 2004

Jerry Garcia Band with Bobby Weir and Rob Wasserman as openers, Merryweather Post Pavillion, 1989. It was after Almost Acoustic came out - the Jerry Band was ON that night. What a jam! Bobby and Rob did the opening show entirely acoustic - just the two of them. I was laying down under the stars on blanket - it was awesome.

Iowa Jam, 1986 - King Cobra, Dokken, Metallica (back when they were noncommercial and raw - read nonsellouts), Ted Nugent and Aerosmith

Took my 15 year old son to see Aerosmith in NJ , Nov 2005. Lenny Kravitz opened. Great show. I felt honored to have my son ask me to take him to see Aerosmith. Although he was a little embarassed at his old man standing in his seat and screaming out the songs and dancing.. :pointlaug

thats cool... too bad though... some of the shows from 2003+ were so bad I couldn't even stand it. Of course with the exception of spac, greatwoods 2004. and I hear miami had some gems

1977 or 8 cant remember exactly, But it was Blue Oyster Cult while on acid at Long Beach arena. Anyone who saw the BOC laser light show they had back then would understand where i'm coming from. :yoinks:

i hear what youre saying man, i really wish i coulda caught some more shows for how obsessed w/ that band that i am/was.. post-hiatus was just a different chapter as far as i am concerned...they obviously arent as consistent as they were back in the early 90s, but theres also a level of jamming present after hiatus that wasnt there previously.. theres probably more gems out there post-hiatus then you would think..

summer 03, its pretty damn consistent from deer creek -> IT, w/ a few sets being exceptions.. IT was really good jamming...peep the ya mar right off the bat... miami rocks, more of a 'greatest hits' kinda show...barely any new songs over the 4 days..these shows seem like some of a short list that were 'more like the old days' as far as energy and setlists went..

all of june 04 is hott, brooklyn is great jamming, jay-z!! SPAC was amazing..the whole first show is wild as hell...second set is one of the craziest sets i saw...special attention to ASIHTOS and the MONSTER piper..a good example of the jamming post-hiatus that i heard was displayed in that piper..

then coventry :yoinks:

Back in the day seen the "Free for All" tour. What a showman. May not be the best show if ever seen, BUT the most fun show hands down.
