Wild pics as usual from this crew....

Gotta drop this question on the F.A.M. cause I know one of you F.U.C.K.E.R.S. has the solution:

Thrips....anyone ever have em'? How did you get rid of them?

I just noticed a handful of them tonight. I immediately did the safer soap regimen, but I'm not gonna be safer soaping my gals that have less than a month to flower....
The unfortunate thing is that I didn't catch this problem before I put a few gals into flower about a week ago....so they've spread. I did hose down the newly flowering gals to minimize the infestation. I also took clones before I noticed anything significant...so those new cuts can't be hosed with anything.

I'm ordering biological predators in the truckload to deal with the flowering area: ladybugs, piratebugs, thrip predators and green lacewings. (I don't F.U.C.K. around with those Mofos...). I'm also ordering some Monterey Garden Insect Spray which contains "Spinosad"....seems to disrupt the nervous system of thrips...causing muscle spasm and all sorts of embarrassing shit to them.

Already got those yellow sticky traps practically everywhere...but I don't see how they're gonna work...

The thrips are pretty fast buggers....as soon as you turn leaves over they go scattering toward the central veins and try to hide in the shade....then they play dead....

I just want to put my foot in their ass, so any other suggestions/experiences would be helpful.

now we going on a trip , we are going to many eksaiting countrys in a airplane
First we go to africa where all people are black and no close have on they stay in bed all day and the only thing they eat is bananas , the monkey is there best friends always they are togehter they looks like each others
africa is so much fun jajaja airplane stop and let my be

(all are singing)

So if you see a negro on your way dont be scared because he just like you and i he looks funny yes we know but remember friend it because of he s nose

2 vers

now we take to china land where the eyes are crooked and the skin is yellow
they have a strange langauge nobody understands it ,its nonsens
chineese they love a funfight special when they have a big bowl of rice
so if you see a chinaman on your way dont be scared because he is almost just like u and i , hes face is special yes we know but remember friend its because of he eyebrows have the shape of a tent
yes he look so much like fun and the yellow skin cant be removed whit a sponge
hes body is so small and if he wants to talk he need a trampolin

Greenland is our last stop here they live in caves we call em eskimos they have no elektriciti and water and no money either just to beer and booz
they eat blubber for breakfast grose grose grose and for dinner an for lunch ,

so if you see a eskimo on your way dont be scared because he almost just like you and i , they look like something you hit on your way but its because of 40 beer on a day
Yes the world is full of funny people and if you meet them then use a translater an be carefull because they all steel...

T: Thanks for chiming in on this one. I've got Avid, and I've used it before to eliminate spider mites (those were some serious ass bugs too!). I thought it was only effective against mites however. Last time it did a number on my digestive system also...it is some REALLY bad ass juice!! The pros = mites die a horrible death....the cons = you feel like a donkey kicked you in the stomach for at least 1 evening.
I'll have to do a bit more research on that pyrithium bomb....sounds odd you can use something so close to harvest without deleterious effects.
I ordered like $200 worth of beneficial predator bugs....when I release them...it's gonna look like a biblical plague in here (LOL). They tend to get things in check.
Might have to slow down on flowering until everything is eliminated. That's what I did last time: stopped flowering....took everything back to the mom stage....treated...cleaned....and restarted. Worked great....had absolutely no bug issues. Don't know where this one cropped up.
The only thing I can think of is that a friend asked me to come by and check out his "outdoor" grow. He doesn't know I grow indoors, but knows I had years ago.....
He wanted to know if his were ready for harvest....so I had to get up close and personal.
I could have picked it up there.... :bashhead:

Access- multiple steps to killing thrips:

Bombs- Set them off at intervals of 4 days, 3 if you are running quite warm. You have to kill protected instars, such as the eggs (in meristematic tissue) and pupae (under soil surface), by letting them hatch out and become vulnerable. I'd set off 3 bombs.

Physical barrier- Cut a slit to the center of a paper plate. Slide it around the stem of your plant, LOOSELY covering the surface of the pot. Thrips pupate in the soil; the larvae must drop off the leaf surface and burrow into the soil to become winged sexual adults. If they hit the plate and fall on the floor, they are helpless and starve to death.

Sticky traps- Can be put on the soil surface to monitor and trap winged adults. Thrips prefer blue over the more common yellow ones that gnats and whiteflies are drawn to.

Hope that helps!
