Eating meat (due to the discovery of fire) was the reason that homosapiens evolved from their more primitive ancestors. Prior to fire/meat, man was primarily a vegetarian and due to a lack of protein, had a very small brain cavity. Shortly after discovering fire in the evolutionary chain, mans brain cavity increased substantially in size due to the significant added proteins from meat.
So, I wonder if generations of vegetarians will devolve into Cro-magnon man given enough time? Are their brains shrinking due to malnutrition?

We're all humans, you should probably address that question to a plant as they most likely know more about plants possessing a soul than us humans ever will.

What puzzles me the most is how can anyone in their perfect senses, vegan,carnivore,omnivore or other doen´t matter, defend such violent, narrow minded, illegal and destructive kind of action.
Is that the way to make the world a better place?
Is this the kind of mentality change and evolution that you animal protectors are looking for?
If it´s i don´t want to be a part of it.
After reading the original and even more after reading some of the comments from the pro-wild life side i start to doubt the words of good ol´Enstein when he said that becoming vegetarians is the next evolutionary step that we need to take

minks are rodent no? last i checked rodents had a myriad natural predators. dont they have snakes, birds of prey, owls and wild canine and feline varieties in ireland? how are a few more rats gonna harm the ecology to the point of extinction as you all are making it seem?

Try using 'your carnivorous manure' to fertilize a plant and watch what happens.
B12 isn't made by animals, it's made by bacteria. It's found where things are unclean.
Humans' "canine teeth" are unlike the canine teeth of actual canines, which are really long and really pointed.
Our teeth, saliva, stomach acid, and intestines are most similar to other plant-eaters, and dissimilar to carnivores and true omnivores.

There are other sources of B12. The B12 in meat is a result of bacteria (unclean). Most vegetarians dont need to take B12 supplements. In-fact, it is found in yeast extracts which Vegans cannot eat. The western diet doesn't take any of this into consideration nor did your test based on 107 test subjects, they did not take into account obesity which has recently been identified as a cause for brain shrinkage. The hippocampus was found to be 10% smaller in this group. Your digestive bodily functions are similar to those herbivores. there is more evidence to support that vegetarians/not vegans lead healthier and longer lives than those who eat meat. Increased levels of B12 also lead to brain shrinkage. Vegetarians have showed to have balanced levels of B12 which regulates the hippcampus. Vegans were shown to have lower levels of B12 NOT VEGETARIANS. Btw I am not vegetarian or vegan. For people who are plant growers, there are some who are seriously misled.
