Thanks for stopping by BigToke. I need to look in to the biobucket. I have heard about them but haven't done much research yet. I did some reading earlier today on water that I think you wrote....a lot of great info man. Thanks.

i hope i havent gotten on your nerves yet, but i was just wondering why you couldnt use timers if you sealed off the room and had A/C and dehumidifier....thats exactly what i do, use ac/dehumidify and co2 with the timers. Again i dont mean to pick at anything, im just wonderin. :)

sbaegis- I welcome all questions. There is no reason why you can't use the timers with ac and dehumidifier. Just without having a co2 monitor you won't know when you need to add more co2 or if you are adding too much. The ac/dehumidifier will basically do what the ctdh3p is going to do. Not all the functions, but the ac will turn on if it gets too hot and the dehumidifier will turn on when too humid. Just to make everything easy and to make sure my co2 levels are always optimal and not wasted I like to have the controller and monitor. If you spent a lot of time tweaking the timers you probably could get the same results. Just to make everything easier on myself I let the computers do all the work.

Until next time be safe and take care!

just a heads up to you, that 3-part stuff will make your weed smell kinda funny and if not flushed it will make it taste funny too, that is the reason I went and swiched to Flora Nova

I was going to ask you about the floranova actually. Do you see similar growth and yields with the floranova? Any other differences besides smell/taste? Not that that isn't enough to switch already, I just don't know much about the floranova stuff.

I've got an XGC1 with the integrated fuzzy logic CO2 controller. What a tweaky machine - holds the CO2 at exactly 1500 (or whatever I set it to) and is fully integrated with all the other functions, pumps, lights, etc.

As soon as I get all the bugs worked out I'll do a thread of ideas.

Really great thread here, with some interesting ideas, and a great setup. Congrats, but get those Omega's going. I run a Cage, and I'm always interested in the newest and better. I'm waiting to see if they are.

keefhead- Haven't tried the fuzzy stuff personally, but I think it works better for co2 emitters as opposed to the burner. From my understanding of the unit it would cycle the burner on/off too frequently and that could cause problems over time. Not positive on this, but just a thought. Mine stays within 100 ppms and that is more than fine. My burner probably comes on once an hour for a minute or so at this point. My exaust rarely goes on. We will see what happens when I get everything up and crackin.

Omegas should be running in a couple weeks. Full time job over here. Actually I took today off to post this thread. I have dialup internet so it literally took me all day.

I would love to try out a Cage grow. What kind of yield are you getting off that thing?...What is the lighting?

yeah gotta have a monitor, got that. the simple cap with the readout on the front, i had that fuzzy logic deal, but traded it back in, it was a 1000 bucks too much. Thanks for taking your time.

sbaegis- Shit, i didn't realize you had a monitor. I have the same CAP monitor as you have probably, the ppm-3. Well if you have a monitor and ac and dehumidifier then you really don't need the ctdh3p. The only thing that would add is to turn off your co2 when you are cooling...but you are running a sealed room so you don't even wan't that to happen. Sounds like you have a nice setup.

I use both methods. The sealed method for summer and the intake/exhaust for winter....

During winter i might as well save some electric and use the cold outside air to cool my lights and room...

pico11653 - They say that it works fine with either, but I'm sticking with the bottled stuff. Maybe I'm foolish, but it bothers me to have gas and an open flame in the grow room. I know, people do it all the time with complete safety, so maybe my chicken feathers are showing.

I'm sure looking forward to your Omega thread. Please let us know (PM?) when you get it going. I'll want to watch that one closely, as I have room for one in my grow room.

So far, the cage seems to be performing well. I had a problem with sparse growth at the bottom, first thought it to be lights, but apparently it was nutes, not getting all the way down the columns. Turned up the time and things seem to be back on course.

This is my first grow in the cage, and I sure know it won't be all that great. But I'm learning the system, and I fully expect, based on what I'm seeing now, that the growth will exceed that of my friends 150 site coliseum.

pico: lol I was just making a joke about jacking off to hydro catalogs...im about to spend sme $$$ here soon myself... I just dont know if I have the nerve to post any grows over 1000w but like keef said thats just the feathers showing...anyways kinda funny were almost identical on equipment...anyways before I hijack your thread lol...great choices on equipment...I hope it all works out for you!! stay safe!!

the Flora Nova works better IMHO (i used the 3-part stuff for around 5 years), it gives me much thicker growth with a smell that is more natural rather than the chemical/grass smell with the 3-part stuff, I cant give an opinion on yield yet because this is my first grow with it and im not quite done (4 weeks into flower) but I am seeing much faster bud growth with it.

This is what happens when mites attack. Normally this can be avoided, but I left town for a little while and things got out of hand.

Very cool stuff, interesting concept, buying equipment instead of recycling trash. Truth is, I 'd never spend the money on that much equipment, but you will kick my butt in yield too! I ran my first hydro crop organic, then switched to the floranova/florolicious, at the Lucas ratio [8mlfnb/5mlflb per gal]. After the first year, I planned to go back to organic soil for my stash, but life got in the way, now after almost 2 years, and some tuning, I don't need no stinking soil any more. I do not know how it will go in recirculating, but in my bloom, dwc, after the first couple weeks of PH'd addback at 1/3, I go to high pH add back and the frost is the best I ever grew. The fnb/flb seems to stay low [in my water], so it may act differently in recirc. Toss in some fuvlic too.
