day 3 in the buckets. Transplanted from 3" rockwool cubes. The roots are already popping out the bottom. They are going to love it. Keeping the ppm pretty low in the res right now, 500ppm, and the co2 fairly low as well, 1000ppm. I am going to up everything once they settle in a little more.

Does anyone use/know about the Lucas Formula? I am interested in trying it but would like to know if anyone has compared the regular formula to the lucas and had better results.

Warm to the touch. Try that with your current heavy brick, i mean ballast.

Yes, the equiptment is making me salivate as well. I have had a lot of this stuff for a while but this is finally everything coming together.

I love the aircooled lights because I rarely have to exaust the room. I am using very little propane to keep everything going. And the $600 exaust fan (FKD12) only runs a few times a day right now. It will be running more when the rest of the lights are on, but still the temps are looking good. No AC at this point but I have one lying around should it be needed.

One thing I would like to add to this setup is a water chiller. We will see if water temps get out of control. I just don't have any more money to throw at this setup right now. Any venture capital out there? Just kidding.

Blast420- I guess it depends on the ballast. Mine seem to be really hot, well noticeably hotter than my digitals. Another thing to take in to consideration is the surface area. Regular ballasts are usually a lot bigger and so they might feel the same temp but are actually putting off more total heat. It is like putting 2 heaters right next to each other. The both feel the same temperature, but combined they are putting off more total heat. Maybe that is a bad example. My point is that it sure seems like these ballasts are putting off less total heat.

I would really like to test the exact lumen output of the digital compared to my regular 600s. with the same bulb and all. Also might as well test the electrical usage. Maybe after the first crop I can get these toys and let everyone know if digitals really are all they are cracked up to be. Even if power usage and lumen output was the same, I would go digital just for the weight savings.

I have a RO/DI unit. Not sure If I want to take the time to fill up my res with it. Has anyone seen noticeable difference by using RO water?

Oh, btw, this is just a setup for my tomatos. I don't grow that weed stuff. The commercials say it will make you run people over with your car. Plus it is just a gateway drug. If I smoked that stuff pretty soon I will be mainlining heroin. heh

grow looks great. I was wondering how often you vent the room, and how vital the CDDH3p controller is. I currently dont use any controller, instead about 8 timers, and i am debating the controllers value in my own garden. Theres a cddh3p on my shelf that I haven't used and I forget why.

Blast- I have not heard about the sunleaves ballast before. I will have to give them a look. Your plant looks pretty good. Did you say you are using GH?

sbaegis- If you are running co2 the ctdh3p is deffinately necessary. Timers just won't do the trick as you won't be exausting and enriching at optimals times. With the ctdh3p it keeps the exaust fans off and co2 on until one of 3 conditions is met. If the temperature goes over your set point, if the humidity goes over your set point, or if the lights are off. If any of those things happen it shuts off the power to the co2 generator. If it is too hot or humid it turns on the exaust fan. So I only exaust when totally necessary. I could also just hook up an AC and dehumidifier and totally seal the room off. This would not be possible with timers.

Then the CAP ppm-3 regulates the co2 generator so as long as the room is not being exausted it keeps the co2 at the ppm i specify. All of these things work together.

If you are not running co2, you should just run your exaust fans all the time so you don't deplete the co2 levels in your room. plus it keeps the temps down and all that good stuff.

Very fancy set-up, this hasnt just been throw together for the sake of growing bud, anyone with a hole in his arse can see you've put alot of effort into this set-up, which I think is a testiment to your love of the plant.

What watts per sqft you running, also have you found that the plants seem to want more nutrients when c02 is being supplimented?

I use gh, i have tried the lucas formula and noticed more probelms when i changed to it-but to be fair my starting waters ppm is quite high and I believe the lucas formular is best suited to water with a low ppm 0-10ppm. So I cant really make a comparison between the two mixtures-but using the standard 3-part I have had great results with it, find sometimes I have to add abit of Mag for some strains, but on the whole its a fantastic nutrient formular.

Thats enough from me-im rambling

All The Best and g'luck with that set-up of your

wantaknow- not familiar with lowrider. I am just going to run whatever I got hundreds of clones of first in the omega. It looks like it is going to be White Widdow, or so I am told. I call it #5. Seeds would be a very bad combo with the omega. You want little or no veg time and deffinately don't want to have to deal with trying to weed out males. Plus you want keep your strain/phenotypes to a minimum so you have the same type of growth from all the plants.

Blast- This is my first time with GH. I am interested to see the difference between hydro 'organic' nutes.

Guvnor-Currently I am running at 40 w/sf but I will be over 50 once the metal halides are added. I think plants can deffinately take more nutes when co2 is added. But I also don't think just because you have co2 you need to juice them up right away. I just let the plants tell me what they want. If they want more I will know and give them a boost. Thanks for the kind words.

it would be a confusing mess to try and run down the sequence these timers follow, but basically, lights come on, co2 comes on, i vent the room 2 times a day and set timers to turn co2 off during those vent times. lights go off, co2 goes off. what am i missing?

Well you are going to get fine results with that setup, you just get more precise and efficient use of co2 when using all the controllers. Hell for some of my veg rooms I just have the co2 burner running in the corner with only a pilot light. That just bumps the co2 levels a few hundred points.

Is that what you were asking?
