Sprayed with OgBio war and Spinosad up until the day of harvest, and all my flowers came back clean from SC labs.:tiphat:

i really should have just met up with some fellow growers and talked shop in person, that woulda been cool...

This^

Really the only reason to go, IMO. I did see some nice flowers including the Gas Leak from South Fork which was a Chem 91 x Chem 4 cross. The Hawgsbreath and Loopy Fruit flowers were nice too. Best haze I smoked was the Nigerian from JJ/topdawg. Best flowers I took home was the Gorilla Glue from Babbabud. Best concentrate I tried was the Dream Beaver from Shcrews.

Also, was much more chill and less crowded today.

Apparently a user here read this as nspecta selling 10 packs of seed for 80, like ke ten packs of ten. He then sends me a pm saying how I'm good at marketing motherfucking whack BC he assumed he was getting 10p seed for 80 bucks.
My wording wasn't perfect but you can assume 10 pack for 80 means 10 beans in a pack, for 80 bucks
Lol
Anyway I just got my laugh for the day, imagining this dude rushing to get to the booth only to be like "yo I thought it was 100 seed"

Hahahaha
Fuck I sure dropped a wad of coin off
With the CSI boys. But I am a FAN of his

I think some people are forgetting this is a competition for Sun Grown cannabis not a dab cup. And if you saw the display case for the hash/oil entries you would understand why they failed. Some very poor entries for both buds and hash, some very good entries also.

csi humboldt got all my dollars, Urkel f1, Irene x bubba and wifi x urkel. Jj had seed but all the good ones sold first day, not enough stock of popular varieties. GG strains had nice clones of glue, best at the show imo. Aficionado crushed it but I'm over paying 5-800 per pack of seeds. zkittles or whatever it is was insanely busy, didn't get a chance to look. Sure I'm forgetting something but these things are largely uneventful to me.

Oh the lem og aka lempire was a good booth, good seeds and good tangie nugs and co2 dabs.

Great to meet both of you too! And yeah, Aficionado had a few of the top 10 spots. Definitely adds more credibility to the value of those beans

Has anyone ever won an Emerald Cup that wasn't a part of Healing Harvest Farms?

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, Aficionado are great growers with bomb genetics. Just IMO anyone affiliated with the organization promoting the event should be disqualified from competition. It's pretty much the first rule to having a competition of any kind

I know a couple people who have gotten top 20's including myself not associated with producers of the event but with the same judges every year picking out the same strains from their buddys its hard to consider it actually blind testing. Tim blake also took the time on stage tell everyone that he was no longer in partnership with zkittles, 3rd gen, aficionado, etc. I thought that was an odd thing to have to do.

If they dont change some things up they are going to lose credibility. You could hear it in the tone of the crowd when the same names started being annonced over and over.

Yeah, the worst was the concentrates. 3rd gen basically swept the rosin and ice water categories with a couple exceptions. I thought they might have stacked the deck with dozens of entries or something, but looks like they won with just about everything they entered. The crowd basically stopped congratulating them after the 4th or 5th time their name was mentioned.

The flowers category wasn't as dominant of a win, but still a few mean gene/aficionado mentions in the winners circle. Oh, and FWIW... my buddy got 4th place last year and has no connection with any of the mendo/healing harvest/3rd gen/aficionado fam.

I guess I'm too naive... I really don't want to think it is all just a marketing engine. Been thinking about analyzing the numbers in the tests to see if any patterns emerge from the data.
