Thanks for the reports on the event.

Other than missing a chance to visit with the Bogs and the Babbas, sounds like I didn't miss much. Hope it didn't rain too much Sunday. Oh, yeah, would've loved to try some GG and Shcrews concentrate.

How was the entertainment?

This event sounds way too commercialized now.

I guess they didn't release any voting details? It's a scandal if they don't have transparent voting (unlike ICMag's 420 Cup), so a few get to "judge" entries in secret. You can always expect unfair results under those conditions. Why bother to enter a fixed event, esp. with so many entries?

After attending so many Cannabis Cups (and getting handed one onstage - big surprise!), and too many Comdexes back in the dawn of PCs, conventions all seem too conventional and predictable (and crowded!). I can't do long lines, crowds or big events anymore.

Had a blast at the cup. I was bummed more ic mag folks didn't stop by the Rebel Grown booth. We were chilling with our whole farm family. We just launched all our new lines and met a lot of great peeps. Maybe get to meet more ic mag heads next year.

We had a great time, the numbers were a little confusing trying to figure out your entry, but was still exciting to have an entry anyways....

Josey your crew was really nice, saw them a cpl of times walking around and always had a chat for us. There were 2 gg4 in the top 20 so that's something to be proud of!!

The rain wasn't bad at all, but ya skip the lines on Saturday were crazy, Sunday was a lot less crowded. Met all kinds of really nice peeps. They really spread things out this year, the 215 area was wayyyyy on the other side of the other buildings, I guess they wanted to make sure they were covered. But damn we did a hell a lot of walking lol
The VIP tent was okay but really crowded too....couldn't really even get to the dabs but tried the drinks, they were good.
Went to see part of the rosin and soil workshops...they were good, lots of ppl,talking about rosin but didn't have any equipment for squishing it....still too new I guess

Been thinking about analyzing the numbers in the tests to see if any patterns emerge from the data.

What I see from most of the top 20 is high in total terp levels, especially #1 which had double the terps of most entries. I also see most in the top 20 with high Myrcene numbers of 10,000ppm+

The Myrcene observation is a good one. If we reorder the results by the total terps, it is not as definitive of a pattern as I was hoping for. (19, 15 and 3, 5 are the most obvious)

Judges numbers dont match contestants numbers .. there is no way the judges know who they are judging unless someone somehow tells them .. which is no diff then icmag contest .

damn testy, wanted to meet up but spent my 3k budget really quick and got caught up with some friends for a while. I was only there saturday. I was like a kid in a candy shop. Got some mendo seeds, gage green, crocket, lempire, and aficionado that I'm pretty damn excited to pop. got a pack of the $800 mandelbrot's royal kush VIII. fucking ridiculous but hey that should pay for itself quickly if its half as good as its hyped up to be

yeah it might be some bullshit but I'm a strain collector and there was only 35 packs released. one plant will pay for that pack ten fold. mind ya damn business if you don't have anything useful to say

well you could always make beans from them ( f2) they will pay for themselves many years to come . don't think jackal really meant to offend you . its bit of scratch for 10 beans . i,d pay it though . no probs. i always make beans out of gear like that . make sure i,m getting my bang for my buck . but as you say they will pay for themselves regardless .

cup was fun, it was cool to mingle and chat with some of the best growers in the world, and see old and new ICmag friends. I must have bought at least 20 different kinds of hash/rosin/shatter, plus a dozen or so varieties of seeds.



i stopped at Mendo420's booth Absolute Organics, got 5 packs of his Mendo Seeds. mostly Skywalker OG crosses. He also had flowers for sale. I was impressed with his herb. every strain was well grown, big fresh sticky buds. he gave me a very generous sampler bag of all his strains. Mendo420 is really a friendly guy!

chatted with backyardfarmer at the South Fork Seeds booth, and again i was impressed with the flowers that he had on display. I grabbed a few packs of seeds there too. I also met DJ Short and chatted for a bit about Vanilluna. I'm still looking for his original cut from 2007 that he gave to HPRC in humboldt, and he said it's out there and keep looking haha


testy mctester and ticklemyballs were also there from icmag, and endur who i didn't get to meet up with unfortunately even though we stayed at the same hotel, isnt that some stoner shit


-Saturday got a little too crowded for a while, and the line for 215 wristbands was too long but that just means we need to legalize already!

-I stopped at almost every booth but somehow ended up missing Ganja Rebel Seeds, i am bummed i really wanted to chill and get some gear. oh well, maybe next year

-they didn't allow you to bring in glass jars this year for the first time. I had like 3 ounces of Dream Beaver and Goji Stardawg jarred up in eighths , was gonna give them to people but security made me take them back to my car. I still brought in an ounce of shatter and rosin and managed to give away most of it

-Aficionado Seeds is huge rip-off. I tried hard not to laugh when i checked out their leather-bound menu and saw the prices.
Their stuff is obviously quality but not enough to justify how much they were taxing. It's just shameful really, although i suppose i do believe in the free market so whatever.... I have grown Royal Kush and it's not worth the price they were asking, unless you need that specific strain for some reason.

-seems like the entry/judging system is still a little flawed. i'm not sure what they should do though

-i got pulled over by Highway patrol on my way back from the cup, with a car full of concentrates, weed and seeds. They searched the vehicle and asked me for my 215 papers and then made me wait for like an hour on the side of the road while they tried to figure out what the law is, then they finally let me go with a speeding ticket. I didn't realize it until i got home, but in my suitcase i probably had at least 2 lbs of shatter that i got from a friend last week but i dont think the cops knew what it was, or how much. Or maybe they just didn't care.
