i have confirmed 3 females in the past 2 days (3/3 so far). yesterday i confirmed that my 2 largest plants that have been with me since april are both females.
p1

p2

here is a shot of the 2 plants in their new 7g homes. (black gold potting soil, mycorizzhae root powder, extra perlite, and dolomite lime).

today i confirmed another plant with genetics from my first grow as female (started in the later half of may). i do not have pics for this plant yet.

until next time... :joint:

yo about your kink...

just make sure the kink is undone, that is straighten the plant so water can be taken to the leaves above the kink, and use a splint to hold it straight. i just used a straightish stick and used ducktape to hold it up. also gave it a week b4 i tied it down to let it heal up a bit. now it is a huge knot and doing great. So, get her straightened up and keep the soil wet for a few days and it should heal up just fine, people purposely crush the stem of there plant (supercropping) to make it stronger so a simple kink is no problem ;)

thanks for your response from my inquiry in your '07 thread about my kinked stem.

i have done exactly what you have recommended - make sure the stem remains straight, and water generously. when i found the poor thing bent over the leaves above the kink were wilted, but still a ways from dead. the leaves are still wilted, but improving..... more tomorrow....zzz

Cheers elevate..I enjoyed the read..
I will stay for the journey..
I know I will enjoy it..I love threads where the grower is dead comfortable with their girls.

heyo elevate, i have a question for u or anyone else following this thread. I plant in 18 gallon bins as u saw in my thread, but the problem is my ladies are geting large and suck the totes dry in just a day or 2. Is there anyway beside multch that could help keep the soil moist? I was thinking mabey suran wrap, but that is tricky and prevents lower growth from really starting. any ideas?

there are also wetting agents that can be added when amending soil.
-vermiculite
-peat moss
-water retaining crystals
-organic forest materials (wood particles)
...and more.

it might be too late - since the plants have already been planted in a soil mix.

*perlite repels water and keeps soil airy.
*vermiculite absorbs moisture.
both are good to have in any soil mix, unless you simply do not like to use these products. growers choice.

i water a handful of plants every visit....
i visit my plot very often...
i make observations...
at least the plant is sucking up its food/water like a champ
give it more...it wants to be fed... :D

you can't go wrong with proportionate ferts, punctual watering, and avoiding any situation that causes stress for the specimen.

thanks fast pine and elevate. there is problems with the burrying idea...all the bins are hidden in prickly shrubs and so they are not sitting entirely on the ground and i dont want to hurt the shrubs as they have been so nice to me this far, but i'll see what I can do thanks for the help.

elevate i appreciate your help as well. the soil we bought is fairly devent and has a good amount of both perlite and vermiculite. it is also a large % peat moss, so it is mixed well, i just wish i added water polymers...damn. i think i may put some screen on each of the bins and cover them in a mesh of sticks, to prevent sun from pounding the soil all day but it will still be very easy to water. Well when i get out there tomorrow to finish watering, i'll see what i can do.

Thanks again both of u, i greatly appreciate both your help, hopefully i can put some of these ideas into action.

ahh nice elevate, it's good to see things have shown so far! That has got to be one of the best feelings, when you've worked so hard and taken so long, and then she gives you a sneak preview for all that hard work hahaha! I'll be back!

sorry for the wait and the late night post :bashhead:
the good news is that this will be the most extensive update so far... *the text describing the photo will appear above the photo :D

first batch of 6 seeds from last season - 2 surviving
one of the two oldest plants holding genetics from last grow.

and the other...

both confirmed female as of last week.

second batch of 6 seeds " " - 5 surviving
this plant topped by an insect and grows the best looking hairs out of any specimen so far (you'll have to trust me).

this plant was partnered with the one above.... as the three after this have been grouped.

the group photo of the remaining three.

the biggest is female, and so is the smallest. the medium sized plant is undetermined (probably male). 2/3.

now for the first batch of 5 (4 surviving) super haze crossed with northern lights which are coming along nicely - at a month and a half old...
the smaller 2

here is the bigger 2 (taller primarily)

the sex of these plants has not been determined.

second batch of super haze crossed with northern lights (3 surviving).

the sex of these plants has not been determined.

tired of looking at boring plants that aren't even flowering yet? here is a turkey vulture or hawk? that i saw circling something close by... no i didn't do it...

clones
sour diesel and strawberry cough

2 sour diesel (a bit younger than the other 2 actually).

tomorrow is august.... goodbye everyone

thank you BACKCOUNTRY and caligreen.
:headbange
caligreen - the amount of water to the site has constantly been elevated due to the increase in number of plants and of course... their size. i carry water in my backpack and hands. 3-6 gallons are carried "one way or another" to the site each day (it is rare for me to miss a day). all plants are in containers. a lot of plants - especially bigger ones - may find themselves drinking 4 days straight (but maybe not a huge amount of water each day). regardless of what people may think i actually have few problems with overwatering/underwatering... minus the leaf curling and droopiness on occasion. but to answer your question.... yes, they drink a lot. i hump water everyday to the site and the bottom-line is that i water what needs watered - it's good judgment... as are many things with growing. having the plants in containers, for example, is also a judgment call because i am unsure whether or not i would be able to supply enough water in my dry summer climate with the plants in the ground.

however, digging, is the true problem for planting in ground for my location. hard crust rock clay is how i would describe it. ever thrust a shovel into solid rock? how do your wrists feel?

i doubt my cough will taste like strawberries, but it should be one of my favorites come harvest. the strain has always been close to me. anyone see children of men? hahaha.

Hello good thread, you'll love the outdoors!

Let me help a bit, it may be easier on the plants
if the buckets where in the ground by far...........
Another great trick is to put dishes under the plants
in the ground also...........
Go to wallmart they have clear plastic plant pot dishes cheap!
Dig holes deep enuff to have to buckets slightly under ground..
Now place the dishes on the bottom of holes and fill with good soils
even if still in pots the roots hit the dish always having moister!!!
Even on my indoor grows i use dishes to catch runoff under pots..
TRy it and they will never wilt again!
ANother thing go get a box of Miracle gro flower ferts after you get
holes prepaired with dishes down in the bottom,WATER them good
with a feeding of MG ferts they will FLY to the finish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done with describing your grow thread, good luck!
