i have been planning to put the containers in the ground so only the top lip shows. i do not know when i am going to get around to this. it is a lot of work. as a matter of fact this week (starting tomorrow) would be a great time to start some of that work. the water tray is also an interesting idea - and i want to try it. i will think about what to use.

for ferts i am going to be trying out fox farms soluble flowering ferts. "open-sesame" "beastie bloomz" and "cha-ching" are all used at different cycles throughout flowering - finishing with "cha-ching" we'll see how they turn out.

this one got the purple phenotype and is a super haze crossed with northern lights. northern lights is/are really showing through for this specimen (indica/purple).

no pictures for now... but as for information:
i pulled my first male today. it was the mountain jam, which i was hoping to turn out female (since it was my only mountain jam seed). i confirmed a purple plant today as female (one of the super haze X northern lights).

fun fact : not one of my 7 seeds from my first grow turned out male. all 7 that grew, and that are still going strong now are female. i wanted to research how to breed too....oh well....now what i want to do is cross a purple super haze X northern lights male with one of the 7 females. do i just isolate them and let nature do its thing? i would love to grow those seeds next season.

the mountain jam is unfortunate, but my 7 blessed females are keeping me content as hell.

yup they are cut into the hillside.

i lost my two original clones to deer! (strawberry cough and sour deisel) i will harvest probably 1/10 of what i would have normally off of these 2 plants.

looking good buddy. unfortunately i share some deer problems with u. There arent many green plants near mine, so they are like a magnet for the deer. bastards.

just wanted to let everyone know that things are going more smoothly now. about a dozen plants have been touched by deer - some of them destroyed past the point of saving. i will still have a bountiful harvest this season - just no where near what i would have had. it is my fault for not protecting every plant. i still have a handful of big/healthy plants that have not been touched by deer. i actually planned on losing plants to deaths/males so the situation is not completely depressing. the buds on the plants flowering are looking more full every visit. all of the plants are starting to recover nicely with much new growth already. yes, there will be another update.

i just made a lil review of your thread, plants are doing well! thumb up bro!
When it comes to Easysativa yu asked bout, yes it will yield very nice n at your location it seems to be good choice, but not so necessary i just tasted lil sample of it, and oooooooh weeeeee it gives nice up high, very happy and relaxin. Nice choice anyway.
