yeah I saw it at dude who grow both cuts in greenhouse at Hawaii. his sourD looks more indica and he said it can get moldy there while ecsd not. he said he got it like that. maybe that sourD is original diesel? who knows.. but still its hard to imagine for me, that there was only one cut at the beginning.. because when you are selecting keeper you will end up with more similar individuals. even Josey has more cuts of glue, not only gg4. cheers.

Good theory and I concur since the ECSD didn’t mold it may well have been the Hawaiian genes providing the mold resistance in the accidental cross that created ECSD in the first place
FWIW-ECSD never ever had a spot of mold while the og hybrids would always have 3-5% by total yield for me

had true sour back day guy came up from staten island with it and got cut from friend. sadly was my second year growing was only 17 at time and lost it to disease and mites. for at 6 weeks premature cut down in flower i will never forget that flavor i couldnt imagine have taken it to peak ripeness.

Ive smoked ECSD and Original Diesel 100's times of many growers from UK,USA, Europe and never tasted or smelled lemon
Captain krips cut
Hazyfontazy cut
Chaco cut
Original Diesel Cut

Ive only smelled lemon in Rez's version or other seed co's Sour diesel

I get loud dank Fuel/Gas but never lemon or citrus. Im waiting to see what you other oldtime icmag heads opinion.

and like you i don't get the lemon, citrus flav .....
the one with the most sour lemon was that girl from headbanger

but my favorites for flavor and quality of the effect are the riri cut

and the dhk

i still have 2 packs of headbanger..... i will search for a good male to cross the riri and dhk when i get time, and see if i found a good mix of sour and fuel diesel flav

sure there are some tropical genes inside, as the effect is very uplifting with sensual rushes. trippy also. not just your usual chemdog

I’ve ran myself in circles over the past 10 years on the sour d story and at the moment I’m taking a short break haha but what I can tell you is this the truth may never come to light There’s to much of a time gap now,some people will not talk (Hal) so many mislabeled cuts,so many bagseed or rez work cuts in the mix it’s so hard to know exactly what’s what unless you’ve had it since 95-96 and never lost it..but it sure is fun to jump down the rabbit hole ��

Question for the sour fanatics...

I picked up the AJ sour a while back in a trade with AJ and after running her for a year straight I’m convinced it isn’t THE cut. But this is the question... the ecsd and AJ are seed pops from the same pollination right? The way I understand it, Keith and the Catskills boys are the ones that popped what’s known as ecsd and Asshole Joe popped what’s now known as the AJ sour correct? But it certainly is the same cross?????
