Easiest way to make hash! Quick Wash ISO!

can someone tell me if the trichome heads are being diluted in the alcohol or are they suspended in the alochol. Ive read someone describing the process as the heads outer layer bursting and making the oils available. Is this whats happening? If so why can i observe the bottem of the pyrex tray holding the alcohol waiting to purge coverred with what seem to be heads (30x loupe)?


is it possible to not use enough iso? for example I made kief with 7 grams and then used the kief in a little bit of alcohol, about 2 ounces. Do you think perhaps that was not enough alcohol?

I withdraw the above questions. I found the answers in older threads. I see there has already been a discussion with the consensus being that the heads do dissolve in the alcohol and the stuff left behind are stalks, hairs, and other undesirables. It seems the stuff i found at the bottom of my pyrex purge tray was a result of cheap coffee filters which allowed contaminants to get through.

The oil made just with the kief was incredible. Melts and bubbles very nicely, very nice amberish color.

Hey this is an awesome thread, I was just wondering if someone could tell me if I could add about 3g of gravity crushed crystal saved from a buster to the ounce and a bit of dry trm an schwag that is going in the iso batch. Is this a waste if so what what be recommended??

If I were you i'd break up the gravity crushed keef before ISO'ing it, more surface area for the ISO to wash.

maybe someone else will chime in on your other questions.

....if you don't have a hot plate or are afraid of double boiling with any heating element....you can always just boil the water, turn off the stove, then put your plate on top as shown...boil two pots so when the first cools down just move the plate to the hot one....just hot water, no chance of fire...i use a hot plate but have done it this way and it evaporates pretty quick

I use a method called "cold iso extraction". Pretty simple. I freeze all my trim and the alcohol for an hour or so before beginning. Making sure both are nice and cold. I mix and wash for about 15-30 seconds shaking vigorously, pour it off and fan dry for around 8 hours.

When it's still slightly wet I scrape it into a nice easy to work with pile like so...

An hour more of direct fan and some chopping and it turns into a nice "keif" like hash. Way easier to work with and smoke than the tar and VERY potent. IMO

Just like teddybud, we need more info here. It seems like the heat evaporation makes the oil darker and possibly evaporating some oils affecting the taste while the cold method would keep it lighter and maybe have a different effect and more flavor? Going to try this out on the next run. Thank you for the different method.

this method is awesome and very simple. I've only made some once but it was very good quality. I used 70% and shook lightly for maybe around 12 seconds maybe less. The ISO was almost colorless at first than once it started evaporating it took on this awesome chicken broth color. Defiantly due to make some more

made some of this tonight from an array of stems scraps and such of A+++ bud that don't make it to the bowl first time doing it, came out pretty gooey and a bit hard to work with but thinking a lil practice will work wonders

wow, this is some super stoney concentrated dark amber bubbly goop totally digging the heady/body buzz put the sticky gob between parchment paper then into the freezer for 10 minutes / makes it easier to handle and almost cracks like hard candy

15.3g plant matter = .9 isohash ... mmm, complex delicious flavors

Does it come right off parchment when frozen for you too? I recommended this to a friend cause it works for me but he said he had trouble with his. When I do it I break it into little frozen chunks to store in portions.

I made my first batch of ISO about a month ago with 8 grams of shake no only did i get around 1.5grams it was the most potent hash I ever encountered and the weed wasnt anything to right home about, this is bar none the easiest, safest and fastest way to make quality hash!

i just made some of this and smoked like a peice the size of like 2 poppy seeds on some tin foil like smokin freebase foilys and im so fuckin blasted right now i cant believe it.
i was only tryin to taste it not get high haha

used 99 % iso and some new killer 'White Russian'.
only soaked for 30 secs
