Early Season Light Dep....and more.

Thanks! This has been a very expensive year, but, after this one, should be smooth sailing, at least on this property.

Lets hear details on light dep process and that water setup! I'm sure many people would appreciate it.

I look forward to the next time. :tiphat:

Well expensive usually means big things

Cant wait to see what's in store for us all.

We wanted to start pullin tarp May 1 but have been set back a few days so tomorrow night will be our first. Got some black 6mill plastic which I have heard blocks out the light, so we will see. Gonna have to be gentle, an might be a tough process, but we'll get it done. Definitelyyyy rigging up a pulley system next year so I can pull em myself.

The solar water system was beyond daunting to figure out an set up. Thank god it's over lol. We pooled up our lower spring that we hadn't put to use yet, and I'm diverting that into an 865 gallon tank. From there it feeds into several filters, into the high precision pump, out through 1/2" black poly, and into another 865 up top. May add a secondary tank up top if we think we'll need it. The other water system consists of another 865 tank, filled with a 1/2 hp transfer pump straight from the spigot, then pvc hard ran all the way down. Much easier and it doesn't hurt my brain thinking about it

Till next time !

Just wondering what your schedule is going to be for the tarp and how are you going to deal with ventilation with it covered.

Thanks Hortic. Those weather gods have been mightyy generous to us so far. Knock on wood. And size is easy to obtain given enough time in a veg room. About half of what you've seen came from 5 gallon buckets , other half 2 gallons. :tiphat:

We're pulling tarp at 8pm, repulling at night, 9+ish to allow the air flow through the night, pulling again early morning at 6ish, then pulling off at 8am. Pain in the ass.

Hello All. what a crazy couple of days it's been on the hill. Rainy, thunderstorms, lightning. Dropped from about mid 80's to mid 50s. Pulling tarp in the rain has not been the most fun, and certainly not the easiest but we have been making due. New ventilation systems going up in hoopies in next day or two. Will have pics as well. System will consist of an 8" max fan per hoopie. Ducting hanging along the top of the hoop in straight line. Holes perforated in ducting alone 50' span. Should force good amount of air in these beasts and at least exchange something. Each hoop will have genny obviously to run setup because each is off-grid. Pics to come soon. Sorry guys real tough when weather is bad and signal is worse! Good weather right around the corner. Ladies look great.

Fellow gardeners, good evening :tiphat: Another day. Things are progressing nicely. As jbar mentioned, we are in the process of upgrading our ventilation for the hoops. The thought of pulling tarp 4x a night compared to 2 makes me cringe, and a fan moving air around will be muchh more sufficient. Excited for this development that we've kinda overlooked so far. Took a fresh batch of pics of today to share but misplaced the damn camera cord. Smoke another one huh? The ladies are quite beastly, stilll stretching daily. Hoop #1 and 2 are at days 23 and 20 respectively.

Pretty impressed so far with the ease of pulling tarp. Was pretty worried about the weight of a 65 foot section of 6mil plastic, but so far so good. Standard black rolls from any big box stores work well. We didn't start pulling tarp till about 2 weeks into flower, but literally the first day after we pulled it was a distinct difference. Makes me feel like late April/early May they almost wanted to veg a little, rather than fully flower. So lesson learned. Even if mid April next year, definitely pulling tarp Day 1 of flower. Few more pics till we're up to date very shortly...

Hoopie #3. Was a late addition, and consists of 2 different bulk mixes that I've acquired locally that I'm not super stoked on. Was definitely still a little hot when I planted them also. But they're popping back nicely now. Oh well, live an learn.

Nice progress! Looking great over that way. Will you be doing any full season? If so, what's the plan?

I Always enjoy the pics :)

Thank you sir. Yes, am very excited for full term. Not sure of exacttt plans quite yet, but will consist of a good amount of likely 200 gallon smarties. We will be starting to set that up any day now, but still several other projects that we need to take care of before we're really ready. Gonna add another water tank for 1700 gallons total, build a solar generator rig so we can run lights an fans an anything else we need on demand, build a Dosatron setup to aid in mixing of ferts automatically, start brewing teas, an setup a drip system. Needless to say we will be quite busy.

Strains that will be run include Blue Dream, Sweet Tooth, Chernobyl, The White, Cherry Pie, Chem 4, Purple Kush, Lavender, Cookies, Trainwreck, Skywalker, Tahoe, Cough, and G14

nice pics and cool looking property, like how you've excavated the spot. makes me really wish i had more flat areas i could build a hoophouse on....

and also looks like you got a fair share of room there for a few dozen smarties....although if i had flat land like that i would skip smarties and go with trenches and mounds but thats just me...since yall already got the earthmover why not!
