I've had a couple people recommend The Power of Now to me. I think i will finally order it after your post. Ive never really been one for books, i can read a 100 page + thread on here no problem, but have always struggled to get in to books.

Almost all my books are audiobooks, n i listen while I drive. For me its hard to find time to read, but I drive about an hour a day. I feel u bout readin tho, like you read a whole page n realize u was thinkin bout some other shit n didnt hear nothin u read. Lol. Same thing can happen wit the audios too, dependin on how good the reader is too. If u try n audio book n find out u into um get audible!

Glad to see you back Frank, I always get a little nervous when a member who is regularly posting goes quiet.

I can totally relate to heartbreak leading to questioning self worth ext... Just from reading your posting here I can see you're a great, dedicated guy. It's hard getting over opening yourself up to another just to be trashed in the end. 5 years ago I was sure I'd be a bachelor forever and was finally wrapping my head around that. Well, life changes and now I'm married with a beautiful 10 month old daughter (actually exactly 10mo today). I'm not saying that'll be your path, but in this crazy life it's always a surprise what's behind door number 3. Best of luck man and keep up the growing many of us have much still to learn from you.

Frank, sorry to hear of the disappointment you experienced.

I would agree with the thought that the soil can only do so much and feeding through irrigation makes a lot of sense to help reach high quality standards. What I have seen though is that soil can provide great quality with water only if you time your planting to only grow smaller more manageable plants. I put plants out later, like right now, and they will be done by the second week of September and shoot for 1 lb per plant. 1000 plants per acre. We have run variable acres some with amended soil, some without and drip irrigation on everything. Mostly water and some rows we would feed through irrigation some we would feed espoma around the plant. It really has been surprising how consistent it all turns out but there were improvements of course with the rows of amended soil that were fed through drip tube but it really has not been drastic improvements. It’s an amazing plant we have come to love.

We used plastic mulch last year and I am a little ashamed of it but it certainly improved moisture retention and water usage. Ended up with a few thousand, sifted and squished it all.

I have enjoyed your thread and I have always appreciated your influences. Take care.

@everyone - I appreciate you. :joint:

@Get Mo - I'll have to check that book out. Thanks for the recommendation.

@Chunkypigs - This is what I'm rolling with. This is based on a standard lbs per acre formulation, just broken down to smaller scale for at home growers. I'm fully confident running these basic NPK profiles, with some of their suggestions modified a bit, would produce the quality for flowers were are expecting and used to seeing, while at the same time, building the soil FASTER. 3 years vs 5 years, in terms of building organic matter and fostering bacterial, fungal and microbial communities.

I appreciate you sharing their take on it though - but I don't think that is going to result in the same product we equate to as "dank".

You can base amend the whole field that way, but I'd suggest you have drip lines and fertigation systems in place, because you are going to need them if the plants get any size to them at all.

EWC - 100# per acre. That's about 3 bags of Wiggle Worm on an ENTIRE acre. That's not doing anything but helping the bulk amendment mix stick together as it goes through the spreader. As far as soil fertility, that's moot at that scale.

That's the problem I have with most of these suggestions. (and I respect the source, so no offense intended) I know exactly how much a cannabis plant can consume.

It's exactly why, I'd rather plant 2 acres at a cost of $12-15k per acre to amend the soil properly. I'm not trying to feed a plant it's most basic needs. I'm trying to build the soil and ensure that my crop potential increases every year as a result of having improved the soil quality. After 3 years, input cost decrease substantially, as soil health has improved. Not generically either, but in specific areas. Organic matter. CEC and proper saturation ratios.

The list goes on - but the best investment you can ever make as an organic farmer is into the soil. If the soil is right, it'll grow anything you want, including a crop with high nutritional demands like cannabis or CBD Hemp, and to a lesser degree, fiber or seed hemp.

Anyway...lol... - 740-1110-945

Point being, I think they are under feeding a bit, if they are trying to produce truly dank CBD flower. (that being an assumption) Also, if their data is derived from university studies, it is likely based on OLD data and commercial fiber types with very very limited to no cannabinoid production. Just an assumption.

I get you, but now that commercial 15% CBD biomass is going for less than $7 a pound I don't think many are going to spend the minimum on inputs to get danker considering how much gets sunk into the seed costs.

can you throw another column on that chart that multiplys up the last one from 1.5 cu/ft to a cubic yard and express the weight in pounds as opposed to volume in cups?

I was going to mix up a yard of several popular mixes and maybe I'll put one of yours into the mix. where do you source the Aragonite?

I'm putting in some late starts outside this week probably into 1/2 yard and full yard mounds.

when I compare your amounts in 10 sq feet scaled up to my 1000 foot patch many of them line up close but you are adding some things I don't add like the sulfur, aragonite, bloodmeal, feathermeal, and I don't typically throw down on neem, crab or bat guanos for my OD either because of the cost but I grabbed some to replicate Schrews mix.

I use them in my indoor mixes and that's all mixed into my outdoor presently.

I'd like to see how your mix stacks up in terms of amounts of ferts and minerals, it's way hotter than mine in sulpomag and potash from the looks.

I think my furrow is a bit deeper than 6" too, lol.

Hey Frank, I’m very sorry to read about your troubles...!!!...

Like I told you before in PM, my troubles/security scare all stem from my kids mother...!!!... Things have quieted down a bit over here but it’s still not safe enough for me to start my garden back up again...!!!...

I feel lost not being able to grow but I will again in due time...!!!...
If my kids weren’t the ages they are I would most definitely just leave her but my youngest boy just loves his mom very much and I just can’t see taking that away from him...!!!...

I don’t know man, I’ll figure this shit out eventually I hope...!!!...
I’m thinking of trying to start up again after the summer, I hope...!!!...

Females can be great and they can also be the devil... ... ... lol. . .

I really miss this place and all you guys here...!!!... I hope the best for you brother...!!!... stay STRONG man...

Peace

The tendency to think of getting out of one's 'comfort zone' is something we mean to do like we choose to because it's good for us, but I think most of the time getting out of your comfort zone is a nice way of saying 'I fucked up'. You hurt you grow. You become stronger and sometimes more fragile but in a good way. Importantly we learn more about ourselves and the environment around us. Ay you're not alone in your pain Frank.

Sorry to hear you can't grow nickman fr. You are right to do what you have to do for the kids. A bad childhood is everlasting.

Peace out Dots.

Better news - I picked up 2 x SP3000 from the safe addy earlier this afternoon. They seem to be in good shape. Packaging intact.

I'll be posting an unboxing and such later tonight. :respect:

The timing is perfect. I have enough rooted clones of the Boz to transplant into the main bed and get things vegging under these new lights.

dank.Frank

Hello Frank, it has been one month since you get SP3000. Did you have a chance to use them?

@Mars. Did you read the thread?

You could PM the guy if your concerned your 'giveaway' has not yielding you more traffic/revenue/exposure. Was there an expectation or proforma on your prize?

It might be just me, hey I could just be too sensitive and reading too much into it but your comment makes me think of someone kicking a dude in the balls when they're already on the ground and I hate that shit.

Hiya d.F

Hope all is well with you man!

I got that impression from Mars as well, some comments seem snarky. Honestly I just think it is something being lost in translation. I appreciate their presence and willingness to answer questions.

Cheers d.f!
