Lovely ladies! Hope you end up putting stuff out there. I enjoy a lot of the history you share here.

I use a chopstick or something like one of those long knitting needles to separate buds when they get scary big. Helps get some air in there. Easy way to check under the hood too.

Howdy DF!

The Cobalt Haze is certainly photogenic in any light. Just a knockout specimen! Not to mention the stacking is gold.

With all the kid's strains, that grow marbles, these days it is refreshing to see a plant with proper structure.

Have a great weekend!!

@Lester Beans - I'm willing to bet, anything coming off these Mendobreath UV x Wet Dream F3 males - is going to have commercial yield potential. The quality is there on these plants too. I'm going to sort Siberian Sherbet from ABF next.

About this 12wk pheno:

You know...it's just dawning on me where her flavor profile comes from.

I've described her as being doughy - beef ramen - metallic ginger - menthol.

Think back to the old description of Arcata Trainwreck - "mentholated whale carcass" - is what I remember sticking as "accurate" on overgrow.

This beefy/menthol terp has to be coming from the ATW x Aloha White Widow side of the cross. It actually makes sense. I've had metallic sensi star and metallic tasting widow before in the past.

I've been racking my brain on this for months now, and it's actually sort of obvious now. It makes sense why she has that silvery sheen of resin that makes it hard to actually get a picture of how purple she actually is. ATW had that resin that made her look like she was dipped in silver - I've even commented about that in the past. I'm sure you could find quotes.

Not sure why I'm just putting this together. This is 12wk plant is a OGKB/ATW/White Widow expression with maybe some boost in growth characteristics from the SSH. The 9wk is more NL leaning SSH/Blue Dream.

Crazy how that works, I have a Sp ops x MAC that is super dark purple. Yet every pic I took you couldn't even tell it was purple. Maybe if I didn't suck at taking pics and had a real camera things might be different. Prob not I would still suck at pics.

Things are looking killa in there brother.

You know, Abja really should use you to write his descriptions.

Arcata Trainwreck. That's a cut I'd seriously consider giving up a testicle for.

That 12 week plant is looking so much better then the first run.

This is why i always believe in running a plant at least 2x in order to see what she really got..
Makes you wonder how many people threw away great plants just because the first run wasn't great..

Im interested in what this other side weighs in at.. If you have 3 12week cobalt and a SisxPK I'm betting the numbers are good..

Would you say the SisxPK is a good yielder compared to the Sis?

@GF - I really don't know. Nickman asked the same question and I referred him over to the Pure Kush thread figuring someone there would have a better answer. I've only grown one pheno and I haven't dried it. Sis isn't a massive yielding plant on her own but she's no chump. She's consistent with the D and 4 in that regard. The '91 probably yields the least of the family.

This particular pheno of Chem Sis x Topanga Canyon Pure Kush - while incredibly tasty, IS NOT the chosen one. She'll get another round, but, I'll NOT be running a full room of her. I was fully prepared to do so, the plants are vegging and ready to be topped their 3rd time. Would be some great bushes into a nice SCROG. Would fill the room.

I could smoke 3oz of her a week just trying to stay medicated. I hope all the people about to jump on GreenPoint's hype of this cut as a reversed mother - realize - what a hit and miss pheno hunt they are in for.

The older and more pure the origin to the original "Kush" ie OG - the more likely you are to encounter what I'm told is called the Faux-G phenos. The ones that look and smell amazing - but just don't smoke worth anything.

I think, that's sort of what I've encountered here with this particular pheno of the Sis/PK. She's not bad, don't get me wrong. But - she's not a keeper. Real shame because she has the looks and the taste.

I'll still put pollen to her. Her thin foxtail type structure will pair nicely with some more dense and compact like the GG4 x GROM/Digi line. Doubling up on the Chem Sis in the gene pool is NOT a bad idea.

I have these Karma testers that are getting transplanted into 1/2 gallon and need to go under bigger lights anyway. Get them to sex a bit faster and get them flipped to see what is in these new Sour D Bx2 lines.

Then it's the last of GF's Snow Monkey seeds.

Then I start pheno hunting the BTY S1 seeds.

Here's an example of how different the same bud can look under different lighting.
Both are from same angle, same camera, same purple bud under a screw in LED light.

The only difference is the first pic used the phones flash.

I saw this post in your thread and was wondering if you had read my previous posts about my 12wk Cobalt. I've had that same issue - the entire time with her. I can't capture her purple.

Every pic - she looks green/silver - but she isn't. She's PURP.

Oddly enough, I've never actually had a plant - that stays green AND produces purple flowers. Every purple I have ever grown, eventually colors up in the leaves to some extent, if not going almost full "black".

So, this 12wk Cobalt - does that. She stays green on the stems - green on the plant - but PURPLE flowers - and the contrast between foliage and flower is honestly quite exquisite.

In appearance - It reminds me of a seed line I never grew that I kick myself for - S A N N I E S Killing Fields.

I need at least 3-4 lifetimes so I can actually grow all the weeds.

@CannaRed - I love a good purple plant. There is a long standing belief, that purple flowers just don't have the potency of their green counter parts - and in many instances, that is 100% the case. I think - over the last decade though, that line has become muddy and there are PLENTY of potent colors out there on the market now.

I'm just like every other cannabis grower - looking for the trifecta - mine goes in this particular order - Potency. Taste. Yield.

Yes my response was to your Cobalt post.

In other news as you may have seen. I have a few COC girls just finishing they are Chem Trails (chem 91 x nl5) x Chem D/Sour d ibl. Theses are all stocky with lots of branches that produce really well.

I dusted a branch of #1 and #4 with Tropicanna Cookie/ chem trails since I didn't get any trop trail females.

I think your gonna find some potent purple phenos in that mochi x sour bx2 from karma. I just had the pleasure of sampling some mochi for the first time along with some apple fritter and white runtz. That mochi is some potent stuff. I took my gal and home boy out to eat this past weekend. Long story short I did not want to do shit after we ate so I packed a few bowls of mochi because my girl was all juiced up about going out and doing something. So we smoked a few bowls fast forward 3 hours later as were all stuck on the couch. she pops up and says “ babe did you smoke the sleepy weed with us you ass. Lol yes honey I sure did. Am I wrong for using the medical properties of cannabis to get out of doing shit I don’t want to lol. Any way I deff think your gonna find some potent purple flowers from that cross.

@Prodigygrower - that’s friggn hilarious...!!!...

@DankFrank - I’d love to be able to take a look at your karma testers...
and I also have always wanted to grow their Killing Field’s...

I remember growing their Hercules I think it was called and their LadyCane which was a super silver haze cross and also another cross that I can’t remember the name to but I’m pretty sure It was a chem crossed to a herijauna I think ...!!!...

I’m hoping I also get some potent purple flowers with these Sherbert Ix x Biker Kush... karma said they should mostly be purple flowers on them...!!!...

Bad picture, but you get the idea. Sis x PK. She maybe better than I initially thought. She'll need to cure up and once her resin is actually dry, we'll test her some more. This picture is doing her no justice, but she's really quite a beauty.
