I see what you mean now DF. I do like the looks of #2 and it will be interesting to see what she can really do next run with clones knowing how she shoots up to the lights.

I wish I knew Blue Dream looked done when it wasn’t. I have Purple Dream I cut short and I had a feeling I was cutting them short but went by looks of the plan instead of my gut. It was great smoke but I can tell giving it another 3 Weeks would have been perfect.

How was the sample smoke on these?

I think you should run some SSSDHxSnowman.

I’m either running those, Snow Monkeys or the GDPxGrom

#2 will be interesting to see how she smokes. If she isn't kill, there is nothing that motivates me to keep her, especially, if her sibling finishes faster.

The smoke samples - yes, those. I don't want to say anything yet because I'm certain they can't be representative of the plants when finished. I've got samples from #1 @ 8wks hanging to dry as well.

I'm honestly leaning towards Snow Monkey, ________ x Digi Bx1 from Chili B, or _______ x Bubba from Nspecta.

I want to get to the Snow Monkey because I know they are kill. I also need to find a plant that is actually valid medicine for me, either for anxiety or pain. I have some great lines from Nspecta that need looked into still. Ghost, TK, SkunkVa, West Coast Dog, Bomb Threat, etc all crossed to Bubba.

I've got a couple options for filling jars, now, I need to find some MEDICINE. For me, that is back to Blueberry lines and Bubba lines and her various worked offspring such as Sour Bubble.

I'm waiting on word about a fem seed line out of Cali - If those come in, I'll be sorting them. I've wanted to let the cat out of the bag for a bit, but I didn't want to jinx it...

Those are beautiful stacked ladies! They have that vibrant look of a plant in a happy living soil. Anyone who argues organics do not yield like chemicals just need to look at this garden!

Your attention to the detail is second to none and I love reading your thoughts on these plants I wish more growers would just stop and observe once in awhile.

Great thread!

Have a great day d.f!

@Lester Beans - Hey man. Thanks for the kind words. Glad you're enjoying!

Speaking of stopping to observe...F.U.C.K.

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed the Suzy Q Bx2 was spitting a few nanners out the calyxes. Nothing too serious, so I just decided to pluck them. I'd get my finger a tad bit wet to make sure no pollen was let out, and I'd pinch the end of the calyx off with the nanner between my fingers.

I noticed, in one spot I had done this, about a week later some slight fuzz had developed. I figured it was on the outside. Took a pair of fiskars and snipped out the area, all fuzz gone, nothing below it or beside it.

Get to looking at that cola again today - keeping in mind it is the size of a 16oz pint can - easily. Notice some fuzz. See a few nanners. Get irritated and say F.U.C.K. it - I'm cutting this cola off.

Get to trimming off the fans and notice the fuzz is more pervasive than I thought - not PM - straight up bud rot in the middle of this beastly cola. I trimmed it up and segmented it off. Probably had to toss about a 1/2oz into the trash. Honestly, it's was probably about a 1.5oz cola. Have the brutalized remains drying on a horizontal rack.

NOT HAPPY. I'm now concerned the rest of this plant maybe having the same issue, or this is something I caused with dirty wet fingers plucking nanners and leaving a bacterial residue that rotted out the cola.

But honestly, that is the 3rd strike for this pheno of Suzy Q Bx2. She stressed early and produced pollen sacks. My fault. She's been tossing nanners since wk6. Perhaps my fault for having a new soil mix (too much N?) and higher than desired temps. Full on cola rot and these are some BIG colas. Perhaps my fault too???

Oh well. I've got enough flower to have her tested to see what her cannabinoid profile is. Regardless, I don't think she'll be staying around. Even in a non-perfect room, I wouldn't expect all these issues. If she's having these issues now, she'll NEVER survive the stress of being outdoors in a field setting.

Highly disappointing. I'm not blaming the genetics. I'm blaming myself. However, I'm going to need a plant without so many possible sensitivities.

Back to the CBD/Hemp drawing board.

Sorry about the Suzy Q. Strictly anecdotal, but the one time I did a late defol - plus 48 days flower- I ended up with bud rot issues and I believe it was from me contaminating the colas with all my fumbling around.

Everytime I have grown a baseball bat or 2 liter bottle indoors I have had mold in the middle. Someone on some message board or the grow store recommended using coffee straws to hold large colas open to allow airflow. I have not grown a huge budded strain since I heard of this. But it makes sense.

Sucks to hear about that Suzy Q but damn is that a donkey cola.

I hear you on growing medicine. You should just dive back into the Digi lines. That CBDB female I have is just amazing medicine. A great happytime weed with no ceiling. I was very surprised I was able to keep smoking her and didn’t get any panic. Normally I’m like fuck I went overboard and time for this roller coaster ride of anxiety but she was great.

I’d be happy to just run room after room of her alone

Not much longer now...She's fading beautifully and finishing nicely. I've begun limiting her water intake. I'm not watering her quadrant. I'm sure her roots spread far and she'll still get some from the rest of the bed, but I'm no longer giving her water like the other plants. I want her to feed off her leaves a bit more before harvest. My main prompt for doing so was the on set of anthocyanin in her leaves.

This will give her 3-4 days of no to minimal water depending on how fast she fades. I always finish my plants like this. :joint:

She's pistachio green, looks like velvet, smells like blueberry and very light hints of gasoline...but mostly just a creamy blueberry. Not exceptionally over-poweringly loud, but it's without question blueberry. Maybe even sort of reminds me of old NL/Blueberry in certain ways.

Sorry to hear of your troubles with Suzy.

It doesn't matter who's at fault. If a plant can't hack it in your room, toss it and move on to the next one.

At least that's my take on it.

I have a few bubble gums that all threw nanners from about week 6. Did they have perfect conditions? Nope. Will I run it again? Nope

@Chili B - thanks, Brother! Now, it's just trying to be patient to let everything finish properly and figuring out what seeds to start next. I should start more Snow Monkey for the time being, but we all know how "should" can go.

@Nickman - I started the thread out excited about #1 having more of Deezy's SSH structure in the leaves. Turns out, she's more Dream than anything. I'm not exactly a huge fan of Blue Dream, so I'm hoping she smokes better than my mental impression reminds me. Either way, I'm keeping both for the time being. They are both very solid plants. Both have the potential to meet the needs I have in my garden at the current moment. I'm honestly not being very picky. I need a solid plant to make wall to wall flowers with. Both fit that bill.

When I get a few more seed lines ran, then it's entirely possible something else will come along and take their place. Only time knows that outcome of that saga. That's the nature of building a new harem from seed though. Keep the stash and toss the trash.

Personally, I'm getting very excited for the Sis x Topanga to flower out. Chem/OG makes a great combination in general and while this is a bit of an odd ball pairing, that is still what this line is at it's core. Chem x OG. It's the only new plant getting looked at this next round, so naturally, I'm getting more curious about her potential as this round of flower draws itself to a close.

It's also time to start looking at what seeds to start next! Exciting yet terrifying. See how many more I have to kill to get a handful of plants. Sigh.

I’ve been meaning to ask u about those chem sis x topanga OG ...
Chem OG’s are pretty much my favorite type of plant...
I need my weed to be as strong as possible... I have very high tolerance...

It seems you like Bubba...!!!...

Yeah, those blueberry I just did are so good for my mood... straight up Happy mood elevating weed... I smoke some in the morning when I get up and I’m good for the rest of the day pretty much... I just wish they didn’t yield so low...

Anyway, have a great day boss...!!!...

@starke - I agree. I think it was caused / prompted by my interaction with the buds. Too big a coincidence otherwise.

@bigtacofarmer - This is only my second time ever having bud rot on indoor plants. Badge of honor? Maybe for the humble 315w but not for the grower. When this crop comes down, I'm getting out the power tools and making some air flow adjustments. Adapt. Overcome. Grow better medicine.

@moses wellfleet - Hand grenades is a fair description. #1 is pretty chunky and will be a breeze to trim. From a growing perspective, the plant is a winner. Not real fuss. Fast finisher. Stacks well. Has great calyx to leaf ratio. Really hard to complain about her, in all fairness.

@Prodigygrower - Definitely some big colas - for a 315w at that. She did have 28 gallons or so of soil to herself, so in some way that is almost like cheating. I know that had a lot to do with her getting such large flowers. Thanks for the kind words!

@genetic freaked - Glad you are liking the CBDB F2. Glady Heady made those!!! The way you describe her certainly makes her sound like the Carolina Blue. Which makes sense because her growth and flower structure certainly looked the part as well. Always best to keep the good meds around!

I want to sort more Snow Monkey, but I don't want to stumble on more males worth keeping yet. I want to find females...need to find females. Wouldn't hurt to find him more mates to play with. Makes sorting fem lines particularly attractive at the time being. Maybe even a quick 12/12 rapid flower rounds with minimal veg to go exploring on a pheno hunt, only re-vegging the keepers.

I'm waiting on something new and special though. It happens.

@TheBlaze - You are probably right in the long run. The male I put on the back burner from the Suzy Q Bx2 line still smells more on a stem rub than the current females flowers. Hemp is new to me and I'm reserving all judgement. I'll not cull the current female, until she after test results come back. All her issues aside, I'll keep her for now. Never know.

I have another CBD line from Med Tree, Richness F2, and more Suzy Q Bx2 seeds to sort. I'm not overly attached to the current female by any means, but I'll play it slow.

@nickman - The Chem Sis x Topanga - was just something gifted to me by MeltingPot, that someone gave to him. I love a good Chem OG as well. Chem Sis is by far my favorite Chem; I've said it a million times. She's stony and powerful and rank.

30years speaks highly of the Topanga as being one of the most potent things he's smoked, even though she only rates in the high teens to low twenties in % THC.

Topanga, is said to be a "Pure Kush", but this is likely due to having originated from "Kush" ie OG Kush, before it was given the moniker "OG" and was still going around as just Kush. She is a more compact pure OG-type plant, but still has the more spindly growth, is my understanding. I've never grown her. She's said to taste like lime and marshmallow OG funk.

I'm stoked one even lived, of all the things I threw in the dirt, I'm just glad one came up. The plant itself, is still looking more Chem Sis influenced and has a slightly muted sweet garlic funk to it. A bit lanky between nodes but on a more solid, less floppy and firm frame. Responds well to topping.

I'm certainly looking forward to her and she could potentially be the flowers I'm needing for pain management. In part, the reason I'm hesitant to sort a Bubba line right now and am rather leaning towards Digital Berry or Blueberry infused lines to try to germinate.

For example - I have Chem Sis x Digi Bx1 I'd love to sprout. A female from that line could pair brilliantly with the Snow Monkey. A male could pair brilliantly with the Sis x PK.

Sis/PK x this piney Suzy Q Bx2 - is also something I'm considering. Why not sort for 2:1 THC plant where we know the females are likely to be in the lower 20's already, leaving a great gap for 8-10% CBD infusion.

My problem, is creating to many projects at once with too many possible outcomes by sorting seed that requires I keep a potentially worthwhile male. Fems at least help me avoid that and help me build a small harem of worth mothers to maximize those males when they come along.

The inverse of that problem is waiting too long for the right females and never sorting the seed and it going to waste....

---------------------

Sorry for the back log. Been frustrated by the current situation and lack of perfection. I've addressed pretty much all current thoughts and changes and potential happenings in round about ways while answering all the questions.

The only thing I didn't say - what fem seed line am I waiting for that could possibly make it to the top slot...????

Stay tuned, for more happenings and mysteries from the halls of D.istinguished A.nd N.urtured K.ind.

Thanks for following...AND DON'T FORGET TO HIT THAT LIKE AND SHHHAAARREEEE BUTTON. :jerkit: :puke:

Yeah, in hindsight, I've kicked myself a few times for being too hasty to drop something. Case in point... the New Blue Diesel I let go. That was a massive mistake on my part.
