Wonder what would weed be like if it was never illegal.... better? Worse? Even around in abundance? Would we even care???
i would guess that it got better BECAUSE it was illegal, driven underground to be tended only by those that truly cared for it...
so that's what it's all about...
This isn't necessarily a Deep Stoner Thought, more of just an average Stoner Thought. Anyway various things going on in my household recently has forced me to curtail growing in the late spring into early fall. I mean I do have my Mothers under shop lights but that's out of necessity.
Anyway because of these things I'm getting low on smoke able bud. So rather then smoking joints which is my preference I've had to scale back to just smoking a few small bowlfuls with just barely a bong hit worth of smoke. What I'm finding is noteworthy and why I mention it now is that I find that I can get 4 or 5 separate highs smoking small bowlfuls as opposed to smoking it all at once and even a bit more and get more or less the same high just one time smoking a joint.
This got me thinking about how we smoke and what's really going on. As I understand it, weed vaporizes at around 350 to 400 degrees F. The flame from a typical lighter is 10 times that. Other common forms of lighting, such as matches or the cherry of a lit join is a bit less but still way hotter then the temp it vaporizes at.
This led me to conclude that if you're lighting/smoking a bowl or joint a significant just gets burned up and wasted. Now I've always heard that those two ways are wasteful but it just seems so shocking now that I'm experience it first hand. A typical good harvest nets me a pound or so of good dried-cured bud and will last about a year smoking bud in joint form. If I smoked a whole pound the way I'm doing with small bowlfuls it would probably last about 4 years. It just seems mind blowing when I look at it that way.

i've smoked weed _every_ day for the last two years and i usually have a week's worth on hand.. (a gram?) constant abuse of tiny plants. hoping to get ahead of myself someday, or maybe grow a plant in nature so i only have to kill once.
i don't really smoke recreationally.. perhaps once a year i exhale a hit so i can say i've seen smoke... because the way i smoke, i never see any smoke. ever.
yes, i am always telling young stoners not to torch the bowl. let the ember crawl around.
the weird thing is that on a few occasions where i do decide to splurge and smoke maybe three bowls at once, but i rarely feel any "high," only "medical maintenance" with an occasional burst of "face" if it's indica.
