I live in a town where I suspect there are several front companies that launder drug money.

i.e a mom and pop shop in an abandoned shopping center that get's no business, yet year in year out remain. Also whenever you go in there they make it clear that you are bothering them. "Take my money please!"

Ok my deep thought...

I have no proof but,
I am sure that there must be at least one national or international company that was started strictly to wash money.
That ended up being run so well that the legit profits overtook the drug profits, and the operation just decided to go "Legit".

I am sure most banks can't resist the lure of drug money. I am sure they all do it, most just hide it better.

What I mean is a company that was started strictly to wash drug money. Where the original drug boss didn't care anything about the company's success.(Just a front)
Then the employees just did such a good job, that they out grossed the drug side, and they just decided to go legit.

At that point you need to regroup and find a reason.

yeah fronts. this town is covered with mattress stores... there are two on opposite corners on one intersection, same company..

years ago, rapper i was producing is driving around and stops at one of these stores.

he buys a couch from his friend, it's like he takes me to see all this happen.

i work with him. the dude doesn't have that money. no couch is ever delivered. money laundering? nah, that would be paranoid huh.

after they fill out the paperwork, his friend takes us outside to his car to show "us" the ak "he just picked up" in his back trunk. sweet, eh?

admittedly, it took several years before i realised what all happened. but i think it was more for like "when you figure this out.."
