Sam had a skunk, others had a similar smeller going back a decade or so before. We got a skunk in 1981. No idea who bred it or where it came from, but it was the best stuff we ever saw. All who saw it loved it, most craved it

I had a friend do a selection of over 500 Goji F2s and found nothing skunky whatsoever. The Nepali is just the original cut but sourced in grass valley, CA very early on in the OGK movement. I'd be surprised if you find anything resembling RKS at all.
Well that's not encouraging! I am not going specifically for RKS. The sample I had was impressive and made me want to explore it. That is what I am going on...
Pretty sure it was Phat Panda because it was in a jar.
But I sampled all kinds of shit.
It was berry but not sweet. Black berry maybe? or elderberry something like that. Probably goji berries haha! Who the fuck knows what they smell like?!!
And had a silly pine funk. Really loud pinene. I am looking for that funk. It was very reminiscent of an 90's afghan skunk. Which doesn't surprise me. Lots of Afghani on the Lotus side. And it had a deep musk quality. Which was "old" smelling.
Anyway I have hopes of finding those skunky/piney notes. It's in the genetics. And I found it in a sample.
Funny thing is I have not smelled "skunk" in any skunk strain since about 96. So I just look for those terps elsewhere. It's just terps. I just follow my nose...
I will be selecting from huge numbers.
Worst case scenario I end up with an elite Goji cut.
I can live with that.
I got a Copper Chem seedling with radical skunk stem rub. Really promising.
It always seems what your looking for is right under your nose (pun definitely intended). Life is weird like that.
I know Phat Panda.
They grow dirty. Hydro.
I doubt the pureness of their Goji
Also, I suspect they use flavor enhancers. Im noticing that a lot with the lower quality LP's
From what ive read the intensity of a plants smell is a trait derived from the father and the type of smell typically from the mother.
World of Seeds Skunk 47
"Skunk 47 is the result of crossing our Skunk#1 mother, which was the first real indica-sativa hybrid comprising Afghan, Mexican and Colombian genetics and which changed the face of cannabis culture across the globe with the famous AK 47 mainly sativa hybrid that has an ultra quick flowering cycle and a very fruity taste.
Although the genetics of both are similar in many respects, by crossing them we’ve improved many of these shared characteristics, resulting in a bushy, vigorously growing indica that produces great yields; Highly valued commercially for her compact buds and very intense Skunky taste and aroma."
Sounds like you've been listening to the Rev @ Skunk Mag.
That's the only place I've ever heard that line.
Personally, I am of the opinion that that is pure myth. I've yet to see any science to back the claim & the claim is at least 10 years old. Plenty of time to be tested but not yet done using pure scientific techniques & protocols.
