Thats an intense game of doctor!! Do you take the shells of completely? Or do you just crack them open, and try to pull that membrane skin off then leave em like that?

Hey Tony, are you referring to the "Ancient" Skunk #1 offered through Breeders Retail? I thought the first batch was shelved due to germination rates? Well, I hope you definately update us, LOTS of ppl looking for a show with those, man! :)

Hey DL. They were indeed, but any one that ordered could request them as freebies to try their luck. I got two packs as I'd already ordered them. They are currently germ testing a different batch of the same seeds (apparently there are several barrels full of these seeds), so we'll know soon if these will be put up for sale :tiphat:

They gave out some freebies of the first batch. See how this next germ test goes too for em.

Much respect for the effort and ambition you must have to take on this project. Labor of love no doubt.

Can I add, that over the past years, some of the skunkiest plants I've grown have come from Mexican brickweed seeds. Before that, almost anything from Nirvana seeds had a tinge of it in veg, not always present in flower.

The Saginaw Valley Skunks Im growing had a crazy skunk aroma in veg, but that has escalated into this "burnt rubber" almost heavy grape/berry flavor. I have 2 females (one sativa dom in structure the other indica - but still has skinny leaves) and one male. When the ladies go back to flower they will get dusted and we will see where the offspring take us. Not breeding, just pollen chunking....

Tomorrow is the beginning of week 5 for my Skunk 91. I haven't been spending a lot of time with them as they have been pretty hands off for this whole time. They are very hardy plants. I need to go through and start looking out for nanners and pollen sacs now though as I saw some pretty hefty looking nanners coming out of one of the colas on plant #6. No sweat though as they were expected. I need to take some fresh pics of them before lights on now that they are starting to shape up and look like something.

Agree there usto be some skunky gems in the brick days the mid-grade stuff from mexico was always seedy but were a few very pungent skunky buds from time to time....still think the rks is in the feeding and to some extent stress (that skunky foliage smell that occurs in lots of plants before harvest) and environment pollution/air contaminants....high sulfuric rose food (miracle garden) which is probably not safe to smoke but was commonly used back in the day could also be a factor....another factor to the loss of these "skunky" genetics is people getting popped for growing such skunky shit pre medical-card days

Is it just Skunk overdone?? So the SVS, upclose stinks of some grape/berry aroma. Step back, allow it to mix in the room and I am looking for the skunk!! Even the smoke has this concord grape flavor, but diluted stinks of skunk??

Im crossing with a Nl#5dominant (NL#5xC99 f2) male now to see if toned down it stinks up.

If the nl5 is the pine smelling version and the c99 is the heavy friut smell it should work out good . i will warn against chasing the grape/cheese/chem notes . a-pinene and b-myrcene are a big part of the recipe . the d-limonene will over ride the skunk terps so if ypu all ready selected it out ypu should be golden and left with the raw fruit smell . haze ( Linalool)may have contributed allot to the rks that would stink up any 100 yard area lol. I belive with hole haertly the the rks that all seek is a Afghan/thia (northen lights x haze first crosses cant remember its corasponding northern lights number ) × Mexican or early version of sams skunk ( mex red hair would be the contributing starin if you ask me ).hope fully one of us gets it right soon lol.

(northern lights) ,( skunk?) and ( California orange a most likely a haze hybred) to compete with the others would fit the time line ?

all strains hit the seen right when rks/skunk appered like never before and people tend to be perdictable just like today lol. Grabing every elite and crossing them together . so what do ypu think happen in the vary early 70s ? :)
