Ghost Train Haze Crosses SoiledMyself
I've picked up on gth as potential also. I've got two fems in veg. (mgth cause gth was sold out). i'm probably going to use wifi cookies reg bean males fir the hybrids. later on i'll take the best from 2017 outdoor commercial hybrids and refine the lines and use fems..

glue crosses are coming out awesome all over the place.

in house genetics says platinum ( uw/permafrost) transfers frost as good as any genetics they've worked with ( they work with gg#4) so i'm running a few platinum s1's (females) for outdoor commercial strain hybrids. I've got wifi cookies in reg form and will use some males crossed into landraces and mgthz females.

^^ we're all students here. experience is the best teacher. ic's got the threads if you do the search feature. if you are wanting to chuck some pollen then you are a breeder in your heart and mind. don't get intimidated. get experience and get educated by reading posts.

indoors for commercial grows?

indoors for personal smoke?

greenhouse commercial?

outdoors grown for personal smoke?

outdoors for commercial grow ( bud to sell to the market)?

for personal smoke type of yield, high, potency, bag appeal including taste, how quick you want your harvest.

for outdoors and greenhouse same questions as above and when does your season end? (how long is your flowering window?)

different answers to the above questions will narrow the search down. just a few starting points. it can get as complex as you want it to be.

have fun. creating your own strains is a blast.

Granola funk #6 male plant from bodhi started dropping pollen a few days ago, have crossed him to a stardawg cut from the UK, possibly illuminatti?

The male is very similar to a female i found from the same pack, the female has a really strong lemon candy smell and tastes delicious, the male has a similar structure to the female and has the exact same smell on the stem rub and when you break the fan leaves off, so im hoping he brings something good to the table.

I also plan to cross him to the UK cheese on my next run, as i have been growing the cheese for a while now so i will have a better idea of what traits the male is bringing. I would also like to have a go at trying to make a cheese bx, although i dont have the time or space for that right now.

Pics of the male plant days 17-21 ish and the stardawg at day 28 12/12

thanks. I learned what I know from ic and I sincerely try to give back sincere posts from my personal perspective and experience.

i'm of the perspective that ic can get a little venomous at times. this is my passion and I make some money ( not much) doing what I love. hopefully ppl can relax and have a lot of fun doing what they love to do.

i'm a dinosaur ( 62 years old). the game has radically changed since I started 40+ years ago. here's a joke that tells my perspective.

dank head walks into a bar and orders a beer that tastes like count chocula wid booberries. bartender throws him out on his ass.

door keeps opening and more dank heads come in wanting gassy beer, tooty fruity beer, beer that tastes like cookies, .... you get my point.

barkeep throws them all out on their ass.

barkeep has to close shop 'cause nobody wants ole skool beer (lagers, stouts, pilsners, ales) anymore. who's the joke on?

i'm running dank head hybrids with some of my best landrace sativas for outdoor commercial strains. either adapt or close da doors me thinks.

I like the ole skool taste, high effects of landrace sativas and landrace sativa polyhybrids. my entire customer base ( se usa) just last year ditched me for the indica dom paclo bud. if you were wondering who's buying all that shitty third tier mersh the answer is se usa. $ 20/gram even with several grams at a time. $50/8's, $100/ quarters for shit that's bright green, rock hard wid or widout frost. if one is producing strains that they made for commercial grows imo they better understand the market. what they choose to grow for themselves as personal smoke might be radically different than what the market wants.

point i'm trying to make is that personal smoke strains can be radically different than commercial grows. indoor and environmentally controlled greenhouse strains have totally different requirements than outdoor.

wholesale prices in some legal areas are dropping to $5/grams so cost to produce bud is becoming extremely important.

"they got $5 grams in WA and the prices are still falling.
check out the $100-$200 range of rec zips in WA.
The $120 ones look good but I'm down with rough trimmed zips of OG for $100

the packaging is cool too, canned and bottled and fancy bagged herb.

weed is 1 min 30 into video.

:ying: nice post...i'm not too far behind you in age 55..

hey when selecting for desirable traits in males , what % is hidden?

I'm seeking variety, but don't want to make any unnecessary errors , is it advisable to use multiple males of the same strain when pollinating a variety of females?

is it dicey to use feminized mothers?

I want to interact with other growers, that's why i re-registered here after many years...where i live we have to hide

Check out this link, its a link to a cannabis radio show / podcast. Have a look through the previous shows, there are many interviews with various breeders from Mr soul to Bodhi, swamp boys, memphisto genetics and many more people including Joesy Whales.

I would highly recommend that you watch a few of the breeders episodes, they are all full of great information, hopefully that should help you.

I ran some old Joey Weed's AK47xBlueberry beans in 2014 and made some F2's (I think that's the right term?) Now I have some seeds to begin the search for another keeper.

I have a few Seedsman's Afghani #1 beans that I'd like to cross with something if I can get a male from them. I think it would be interesting to cross it with the Kojak #3 (Killer Queen x Jack Herer) female I have.

No worries, some of the interviews are a little bit long however theres tons of great info in there. The granola funk male started dropping pollen day 17-18 hes currently on day 22 today and i dont need him anymore, i could easily leave him for another week or so and he would keep dropping pollen, i didnt need to collect alot. I put him in to flower a week after the stardawg, ideally i should have flowered him at the same time.

It IS advisable to use multiple males of the SAME strain to pollinate.
I don't know if I would say "dicey" , this is a very heated topic, I personally don't use "feminized" plants or even s1s which are similar for breeding. There are herm genes in there.

The plan was to use two Malawi gold males to pollinate two Malawi gold females just to produce more seeds. I accidentally lightly pollinated my whole flowering room by not isolating long enough or spraying them down before putting them back into the general population.
So due to construction delays on the new sativa only room causing this happy accident I will have many Malawi gold crosses to work with.
The list of what got hit is;
Super lemon haze
Purple Urkle
Death Star
Blueberry mountain
Snow temple
Wonder berry
Apricot cush
Gorilla glue #4
Satsuma
Cannatonic #4
Blueberryish mystery plant x Colombian black

its actually quiet the opposite . decent breeders choose the most stable plants to turn to make fem seed .
