33,700 people in New York City have tested positive and 776 people have died
It is the epicenter of the virus in America; there are 142,000 cases across the country and 2,500 have died
City officials said this is the biggest deployment of makeshift morgues since the September 11, 2001, attacks
There are also field hospitals popping up in Central Park and in luxury hotels like the Plaza and St Regis
The USNS Comfort, a Navy hospital ship, will dock at New York Harbor on Monday bringing 1,000 beds
Trump said on Sunday that if 200,000 or fewer died from the virus, he would have done a 'good job'
He has extended social distancing guidelines until the end of April after consulting disease experts

I've just been banned from somewhere else for posting a link to Macrovoices.com

So I'll give you guys the information that could help save your life -
about the concept of inoculum, explained by rishi-desai

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFB_C2ieW5I\

inoculum = the first cluster of virus particles that create an infection in your own personal walking petri dish - your body.

Go through this thread and see how our knowledge of WuFlu has evolved. By the end of January people should have been well aware of this danger, and had taken necessary steps to prepare for isolation. As for the blame game, how about the exulted speaker? Here she is, on Feb 24th and by Mar 29 she is blaming Trump... both vids below

In the United States, there are more than 144,000 cases, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally. At least 2,500 people have died nationwide.
President Trump on Sunday extended federal social distancing guidelines until the end of April.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a travel advisory on Saturday, urging people in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut to "refrain from non-essential domestic travel" for the next two weeks.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Sunday that more than 100,000 Americans could die from coronavirus.
Globally, the number of cases has surpassed 755,000 with more than 35,000 deaths, Hopkins reports.

Received this from a friend in France, re. a Doc's practice in New York, which includes a substantial number of elderly patients.

Dr. Vladimir (Zev) Zelenko
Board Certified Family Practitioner
501 Rt 208, Monroe, NY 10950 845-238-0000

March 23, 2020

To all medical professionals around the world:

My name is Dr. Zev Zelenko and I practice medicine in Monroe, NY. For the last 16 years, I have cared for approximately 75% of the adult population of Kiryas Joel, which is a very close knit community of approximately 35,000 people in which the infection spread rapidly and unchecked prior to the imposition of social distancing.

As of today my team has tested approximately 200 people from this community for Covid-19, and 65% of the results have been positive. If extrapolated to the entire community, that means more than 20,000 people are infected at the present time. Of this group, I estimate that there are 1500 patients who are in the high-risk category (i.e. >60, immunocompromised, comorbidities, etc).

Given the urgency of the situation, I developed the following treatment protocol in the pre-hospital setting and have seen only positive results:

1. Any patient with shortness of breath regardless of age is treated.

2. Any patient in the high-risk category even with just mild symptoms is treated.

3. Young, healthy and low risk patients even with symptoms are not treated (unless their circumstances change and they fall into category 1 or 2).

My out-patient treatment regimen is as follows:

1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days

2. Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 5 days

3. Zinc sulfate 220mg once a day for 5 days

The rationale for my treatment plan is as follows. I combined the data available from China and South Korea with the recent study published from France (sites available on request). We know that hydroxychloroquine helps Zinc enter the cell. We know that Zinc slows viral replication within the cell. Regarding the use of azithromycin, I postulate it prevents secondary bacterial infections. These three drugs are well known and usually well tolerated, hence the risk to the patient is low.

Since last Thursday, my team has treated approximately 350 patients in Kiryas Joel and another 150 patients in other areas of New York with the above regimen.

Of this group and the information provided to me by affiliated medical teams, we have had ZERO deaths, ZERO hospitalizations, and ZERO intubations. In addition, I have not heard of any negative side effects other than approximately 10% of patients with temporary nausea and diarrhea.

In sum, my urgent recommendation is to initiate treatment in the outpatient setting as soon as possible in accordance with the above. Based on my direct experience, it prevents acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), prevents the need for hospitalization and saves lives.

With much respect, Dr. Zev Zelenko

Meanwhile an Orthopedic Medicine Office & a physical therapy office in Fairbanks, Alaska, have reportedly been traced as being an infection point for a number of persons. It's reported that (going from memory from last night) the first traceable infection via this/these office(s) was March 9, and the last March 19 (assuming I recall the specifics clearly).

The offices are now closed through April 3, at which point I believe they intend to re-evaluate.

Had to wonder in cynicism, if they were a hoagie house, would they be closed until April 3, pending re-evaluation??!!

I need electrical fittings to finish a job I'm doing at home, have a couple P100 masks at the post office, per tracking, and a different style/capacity of P100s coming to my door in a couple days. Stop at the PO on the way to town, and gear up.

Spoke with a prepper friend who lives in the SW Lower-48, who used to live up here. He's medically challenged but usually pretty astute re. knowing what he needs. We spoke about re-using P100 and N95 masks after use in what MAY be contaminated areas. He said if the mask itself is cleaned with wipes after removing filter cartridges, and the masks and cartridges are not kept damp and warm (a de facto petri dish situation) they can be re-employed in most cases after 4 days rest; he figured this is sufficient time for the virus to die in place. I'll cautiously consider his input, and do some more research.

We talked about disinfecting our nitrile gloves, as well, and recycling them, for frugality and shortage in supply sake.

I need to order more filter cartridges.

Ive heard that is you soak an H95 mask in a strong saline solution then allow it to air dry before using it, that you can use it non stop. The virus is inactivated by the salt on contact

Went for the tighter facial fit with 2 varieties of Elipse P100 half-masks, and yesterday shaved a healthy beard, taking the remaining mustache down considerably to afford a food-grade silicone half-mask's tight fit to tissue. Hardly recognize myself.

had to check out Dr Zev's rep in the wider world
they're not saying good things about him
claiming his test conclusions are way over estimated for actual positive infections
not dismissing him either, looks to be a competent practitioner
but big claims require big proof

ozone will disinfect, as will isopropyl alcohol allowing reuse of surgical/n95 masks and clothing. to disinfect masks, saturate for about 30 seconds and allow to air dry. iso can also be a hand sanitizer.

I've been out of rep since my first stroke or 2 this AM.

Yep, as stated earlier, any time fast conclusions are reached, even if later shown to be valid, the folks who adhere to traditional protocol are skeptical at best. That rough edge and narrow line between "we need this NOW" and "we have to move with due caution and adequate scientific research", as well as who, if anyone, gets to breech those standard expectations.

I think the fast-paced aspect of this, and the desperation in some places (reports of nurses being found in mop closets crying and bewildered), has some not willing to take the standard steps to approval.

Outa' rep again, Trich.

I sent 2 Air Tigers to the re-use area at the local dumpster transfer station a number of years ago, as I had researched the issues of soft lung tissues and ozone. The Air Tigers using UV to produce Ozone.

Wish I had them now, but we're well stocked with Hydrogen Peroxide, 99% lab-grade iso alc., bleach, etc., etc.

You take care, as well. And thanks for the tips.

Edit: I still have an older, little-used Alpine Air box/device in the basement. Held onto it, just in case.

Any research re. use of ozone as a disinfectant in indoor areas where this virus is concerned?

OZONE????

CPAP Cleaner & Sanitizer Ozone Sanitizer Disinfector for CPAP Mask with Battery
4 ratings
$26.79/eaFree Shipping. EBAY.....

Picked up mine last year..19.00....

Ozone can harm though from some study done lately...

Ozone is a lung irritant that can cause respiratory distress; ozone generators should not be used when people or animals are present. Exposure to ozone can also result in cough and chest pain on deep inhalation, eye, throat and nose irritation, and increased sensitivity to airborne allergens and irritants.

I know ozone's been used to deal with fungal issues in homes & other spaces, but as stated, for soft lung tissue, if ozone is above value X, potentially becomes a health hazard.

I'll have to look into use of ozone on viral and bacterial issues.

Need to get to the PO and pick up 2 masks, then on to hardware for electrical fittings.

Youngest son just returned, and I'd given him the drill 8 times over, re. protocol in town, re. disinfecting any areas he comes into contact with, disinfecting his nitrile gloves, no contact with others within 8-10 feet, etc., etc.

But he's young and healthy. I'm the wild card in the family. But neither myself nor my friend in the bush are feeling OK about asking others to run our errands for us these days.

current curve?

current curve?

this is from worldometer, medfinder's running tally
anyhow, here's the number of new cases bar graph
today's new case number may make the trend clearer tomorrow
looks like it's flattening, but that's not an expert opinion

Coronavirus: Italy becoming impatient with lockdown - and social unrest is brewing
Police descend on a supermarket after reports people have stolen food to feed themselves, as patience turns to desperation.

Videos have emerged of desperate people in Italy begging for help because they have run out of money and food.

Well into its third week of the coronavirus lockdown, Italy is still seeing many hundreds of people dying each day.

Progress in containing the COVID-19 spread is slow, hope and patience are fading and the economic cost is becoming ever more acute.

Can't 'like' it. Not because it's not a valid and insightful post, but because this is tragedy unfolding. Like watching folks drowning, and being too far away from them to toss a life ring or make it there to pluck them out. It's fucked. nothing shy of fucked.

This is the sort of thing that was reported earlier, as breaking seasoned healthcare pros, leaving them hiding in mop closets, weeping.

Little to do but shake our heads, and HOPE for a new sunrise.

FBI arrests man for allegedly coughing on agents, hoarding and selling medical equipment
The Brooklyn man allegedly told FBI agents he had novel coronavirus.

A Brooklyn man who allegedly coughed on FBI agents and told them he had novel coronavirus, after the agents said they had confronted him about hoarding and selling medical equipment, has been arrested, according to the Justice Department.

Prosecutors said 43-year-old Baruch Feldheim sought to take advantage of the COVID-19 crisis and equipment shortages at New York's hospitals to make medical workers pay inflated prices for surgical masks, medical gowns and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

About Fvck-ups at the CDC etc. that delayed testing in the US.

vs. 500K per week in Germany, or testing the entire relevant population in Singapore and South Korea.

WOW ! Let's give a King of the Lab award to the Class Retard - the USA, led by Trump. with Boris Johnson for the infected mascot.

Of course the TYPE of test is important too, because some of them give so many false readings that they are not helpful.

Finally, here is the Video for Rishi Desai, talking about INOCULUM.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFB_C2ieW5I

I think those of us who don't trust American vaccines, if we want to get the antibodies and are willing to risk it, will get our antibodies by giving ourselves micro-doses of the virus.

I suggest you listen to a lot of Chris Martenson videos before you attempt that. Also other people will be doing that, maybe let them go first.

Remember if the US was testing all along numbers would have been way higher, much sooner.
No testing no confirmed cases.
