Coronavirus.. outlook

As of Sunday morning, at least 2,815 people in 49 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico have tested positive for coronavirus in the United States, according to a New York Times database, and at least 59 patients with the virus have died.

The Vatican said on Sunday that its traditional services during the week before Easter, which usually draw tens of thousands of people, would not be open to the public next month.

Holy Week, the week before Easter — which falls on April 12 this year — features a series of events presided over by the pope, including a celebration of Good Friday, which in recent years has been held at the Colosseum in Rome.

Since Italy began locking down cities to try to contain the coronavirus, two of the pope’s weekly events, which also draw large crowds — his Wednesday general audience and his Sunday Prayer — have been livestreamed from the library in the papal palace. Last Sunday, the prayer was shown on two large screens in St. Peter’s Square, which has since been closed.

Alcohol, immune system...You don't have to chug the whole bottle. Just keep the throat wet.

I may get a bottle of everclear and play with it. How about a tincture, with oil in it for flavor?

Dilute it with Cannabis extract to get the alcohol down to 70%.

Actually 151 Rum sounds like it might work.

The US has dropped into a fairly predictable trend. Tripling the # of deaths from C-Virus every week. Was 19 last Sunday, is 60 today.

That means 3*3*3*3 per month, 81.

Then the curve goes
60 (March 15)
4800 (April 15)
384000 (May 15)

Then it may slow down as different areas get saturated.

However I have to believe Liz Specht's estimate that American hospitals will have a "no room at the inn" situation on May 8.

However bad the C-Virus is in Europe, their health care system is so much better than the US. That may be the US' primary weak link in this case, that and having a president who missed the chance to keep the case count below 10K.

They still don't have test rolled out for the general public.

In Oregon they require a referral from a general practitioner.

But a lot of citizens don't have GP's & so will not be tested unless they end up needing a hospital suite.

I think it would be a wise move to go buy an oxygen set-up like Piney wears in SoA. That's one of the main things you get at a hospital.

That link isn’t working, but the story is UC Davis is finding corona transmission is droplet transmitted instead of being an airborne transmitted virus.
They have successfully treated coronavirus without any personnel contracting the disease by being properly equipped and following protocols

That's why on surfaces(from droplets), the virus can be active for 2-3 days!!

https://www.npr.org/sections/health...surfaces-for-2-3-days-heres-how-to-clean-them

All the more reason to wash hands often!

Fake coronavirus test kits seized at Los Angeles airport
The package had come from the U.K.

Officers with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized what appear to be fake novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, tests at the Los Angeles International Airport, the agency said Saturday.

The package had come from the United Kingdom on Thursday and contained various vials that manifested as pure water, but upon inspection contained white liquid and were labeled "Corona Virus 2019nconv (COVID-19)” and “Virus1 Test Kit," according to a statement from CBP.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ this is quite useful has demography and age based daily updates on new cases, cured cases and deaths.

Here in Czech Republic they are currently deciding on putting whole country on quarantine people should only be allowed to go to work (of course ). All the shops except for pharmacies are closed streets are empty you barely meet anyone outside.

Andrew Cuomo says Army Corps of Engineers should be used to add more medical facilities amid coronavirus pandemic

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday urged President Donald Trump to take swift action on "three clear imperatives" that he says are necessary to respond to the coronavirus pandemic, including using the Army Corps of Engineers to add more

Cuomo, wrote that Trump should use Army Corps personnel "to leverage its expertise, equipment and people power to retrofit and equip existing facilities -- like military bases or college dormitories -- to serve as temporary medical centers."

I was lucky enough to have been on sick leave the last 4 weeks due to RSI.

Still got 2 more weeks and then I have to get back to work. But if this gets much worse I am staying home, fuck money, I'll find another job lol.

Got a nice supply of masks, gloves, isoprop spray, 25 kg of rice, 25 kg of beans, protein powder, still got the freezer full of fruit from last year. Still get 10-20 kg of frozen veggies from last years harvest. Got weed, got grow going on, ....I'm good.

Ironically lol , the only thing I don't have(almost finshed 1/2 roll) is toilet paper lol Shit is all sold out here haha

I'll just stay in my nice little bubble, tending to my plants animals and food garden getting high as a kite .

ICU doctor at a Children's Hospital

https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/new...navirus-icu-to-close-to-new-patients/2327527/

“The ICU is closed to new admissions and the Level 1 Trauma department is closed,” Fry wrote, according to the Inquirer. "Children currently in the ICU will not be transferred out of the unit.”

Fry said staff have been notified and will wear protective equipment, and that the hospital is “contacting the families of any patients, family members, and employees who may have been exposed,” the newspaper reported.

It was not immediately clear how long the ICU was to remain closed.

stores are sold out of isopropyl and I really need to clean my bong

worst case scenario models are at 480,000 deaths in the U.S.

main things that increase chance of fatality are obesity, high blood pressure, smoking, and underlying respiratory or immune system conditions

areas with the densest populations of people meeting that criteria will account for the majority of fatalities, the bible belt is what first comes to mind, that area could account for 50% or more of the deaths

main issue with developing a vaccine is the longer term safety of it over broad populations, but Trump has been in contact with other international figures that have tested positive, Trump and his entourage have more than likely been given a prototype of sorts not cleared for the masses

hand sanitizer seems to be a fallacy, people search coronavirus precautions and since SARS attaches and infects around the eyes it recommends washing hands and not touching your face, however there is no evidence that COVID transmits this way and is thought to be 100% airborne, so if you were in a line for the hand sanitizer pump and someone in the line had it and was breathing you would more than likely pick it up

what I am curious about is if it can become airborne from a surface that it is on, and how long does it last in outside air, for example in the situation of a drive up testing facility, if there is a line and someone has it and they breathe out their window, what happens when the next car pulls up and that person rolls down their window, also air filters in cars probably don't stop it

heard Milan is bad, that a lot of the physicians are picking it up and are starting to choose people to let die
