stores are sold out of isopropyl and I really need to clean my bong

worst case scenario models are at 480,000 deaths in the U.S.

main things that increase chance of fatality are obesity, high blood pressure, smoking, and underlying respiratory or immune system conditions

areas with the densest populations of people meeting that criteria will account for the majority of fatalities, the bible belt is what first comes to mind, that area could account for 50% or more of the deaths

main issue with developing a vaccine is the longer term safety of it over broad populations, but Trump has been in contact with other international figures that have tested positive, Trump and his entourage have more than likely been given a prototype of sorts not cleared for the masses

hand sanitizer seems to be a fallacy, people search coronavirus precautions and since SARS attaches and infects around the eyes it recommends washing hands and not touching your face, however there is no evidence that COVID transmits this way and is thought to be 100% airborne, so if you were in a line for the hand sanitizer pump and someone in the line had it and was breathing you would more than likely pick it up

what I am curious about is if it can become airborne from a surface that it is on, and how long does it last in outside air, for example in the situation of a drive up testing facility, if there is a line and someone has it and they breathe out their window, what happens when the next car pulls up and that person rolls down their window, also air filters in cars probably don't stop it

heard Milan is bad, that a lot of the physicians are picking it up and are starting to choose people to let die

I can't see it lasting very long in direct sunlight. UVC rays would kill it in short order. I read it can last 3 hrs. in indoor air and up to 9 days on non-pores surfaces. So much conflicting info the only thing I know for sure is that direct sunlight is our best ally.

Coronavirus outbreak
UK coronavirus crisis ‘to last until spring 2021 and could see 7.9m hospitalised’
Exclusive: Public Health England document seen by Guardian says four in five ‘expected’ to contract virus

The coronavirus epidemic in the UK will last until next spring and could lead to 7.9 million people being hospitalised, a secret Public Health England (PHE) briefing for senior NHS officials reveals.

The document, seen by the Guardian, is the first time health chiefs tackling the virus have admitted that they expect it to circulate for another 12 months and lead to huge extra strain on an already overstretched NHS.

It also suggests that health chiefs are braced for as many as 80% of Britons becoming infected with the coronavirus over that time.

Prof Chris Whitty, the government’s chief medical adviser, has previously described that figure as the worst-case scenario and suggested that the real number would turn out to be less than that. However, the briefing makes clear that four in five of the population “are expected” to contract the virus.

The document says that: “As many as 80% of the population are expected to be infected with Covid-19 in the next 12 months, and up to 15% (7.9 million people) may require hospitalisation.”

If 50% of the US population will get it, and on avg 1% are fatal, that is a lot of deaths.

This is supposed to slow in the summer and come back in the fall, just as the 9 month gestation period is done. Hospitals clogged again. Where will they have all these WuFlu babies?

From what I've read it's the second week when it gets worse, Tom Hanks has only had it a out a week. It's the respiratory aspect in the second week you have to watch out for.

Notice the official name they use SARS-Cov19.

SARS = severe acute respritory syndrome.

Covid19 kills by creating a situation like entire lung pneumonia. The lungs fill with mucus and makes it hard to impossible for the lungs to oxygenate your blood without the help of a ventilator in severe cases.

Dow Futures Have Tumbled 1,000 Points Because Cutting Interest Rates to Zero Is Not Enough

: Fed Chair Powell was forced to cut the U.S. benchmark interest rate by a full percentage point—it had been moving in quarter- and half-point increments—and had to do it on a Sunday. The regularly scheduled Tuesday and Wednesday meeting was canceled. The Fed will start buying bonds again, at least $500 billion of Treasuries and $200 billion of mortgage-backed securities. The Fed also lowered the discount rate as a way to get banks to lend to cash-strapped businesses.

“So now we have the entire crisis playbook enacted before Asian markets open—with the Fed doing everything in its power, not just to support economic activity, but to keep the financial system afloat and keep credit flowing to affected households and businesses,” writes Paul Ashworth, chief U.S. economist at Capital Economics.

NYC Bank Runs Short Of Big Bills As Customers Hoard Cash

PYMNTS.com
CASHNYC Bank Runs Short Of Big Bills As Customers Hoard Cash
ByPYMNTSPosted on March 15, 2020
A bank in New York was cleared out of $100 bills last week

The stock market’s plummeting numbers have caused some banks to run out of large bill denominations as customers flock to take as much out of their accounts as possible, The New York Times reported.

One such example is in New York City at the Bank of America located at 52nd Street and Park Avenue,

where large withdrawal attempts led to the bank temporarily running dry of $100 bills Thursday (March 12).

Some customers, in fear of the stock market’s disarray, were trying to withdraw amounts in the tens of thousands. The shortage came after multiple requests of that size, according to two sources who saw it personally happening.

The problem was only occurring with large bills like $100s, not smaller denominations, so the ATMs were still stocked and those looking for more routine transactions didn’t have any problems. The bank was able to rectify the issue by the next morning.

Hell yes people are gonna take out their money - negative rates are coming! I added to my lumpy mattress myself. Or send a check to APMEX.

I hope your mattress isn't lumpy with Federal Reserve notes, although they may be ok to use as toilet paper when the dollar falls apart...

You probably sleep better then me anyway, as my mattress is full of gold and silver coins. You lucky dog!

Prepper scare! Anyone remember the last major one? I hope as a prepper you saved you Sears catalogs. Other wise as you should know, mother nature provides you with all the necessities. You do know how to build a log trench, dontcha!!!

ALthough I speak English quite well, I absolutely do not undertand what you want to say with this. I understand each word seperately, but not the meaning of all the words together. Could you explain to a non native English speaker? (I am dutch speaking)

The reason I prepped is simply to avoid having to go in crowded places like supermarkets. I figure, the more distance I keep from people, the less chance I have of getting infected. I have always been very susceptible to infections like flu, or sinusistis or the common cold or angina. Mainly because I come from the South(Italy) and I live in a cold country (Belgium). I always have vitamin D deficiency and need to take it as a supplement so I don't get sick too often from octobre to april. But Octobre -APril for me is always a risky period even without this corona crap. So I want to minimize chances of getting that disease. I don't have time for it LOL. Now is the time to start prepping my vegetable and fruit gardens for the spring/summer :D
