Alaska, as of the moment, has 228 dead form C-19, with 49,835 confirmed infections.
I look back on some of the more callous statements about it only killing the old and infirm (something that wasn't entirely true, and we now have numbers for persons who were healthy and younger), and I recalled the sentiment re. the economy being more important than geezers who'd already sucked enough air.
Then I remembered what a young man at the Dakota Pipeline occupation wrote; "Every time we lose an elder, it is as though someone burned down a library."
Few other statements had clarified the value of our seniors so well; those older than my self, and those older than them. There's a richness of heritage that is diminished when oral reports of 'those times' are told less and less, as their population declines in their departure.
Lotta' libraries burned down this year and last.
