Local hospital honcho sent an email lambasting the State of Alaska Governor, for playing footsie with the concept of a State-wide mask mandate, among other safety protocols. Email got released to the media (likely planned that way), pushing the envelope re. the Governor being placed in the spotlight for the incompetent idjit he really is.

I guess those who are grouped up tight and singing Christmas carols, while standing or sitting close together with few to no masks, would be the remedial Christmas carolers? Riding in a rather short sleigh? With lots of glow-in-the-dark markings?

We got you best...our oklahoma goober wants people to visit the state. Last March he was crowing about having 1000 icu bed. We now have 1728 covid patients in those beds. Staffing is the issue. He cannot understand it takes humans to operate the ventilators.

The south African mutation I mentioned yesterday here was found in the UK. It is NOT the same mutation like it was found before in England. It is another mutation which developed in South Africa independent from the virus in the UK. There are similarities between the two mutations. As far as I understand: One spike protein out of 10 or 20 different spike proteins is mutated in the same manner, but independent from each other. And the other spike proteins are different. So it is a completely new mutation which seems to be even more contagious than the one which caused the new lock down in the UK. And about this one is said, that it is 70% more contagious than before.

So lets have a look:

Covid19 : 3.28 – 5.7
and 70% more contagious means:
3.28 * 1.7 = 5,576
5.7 * 1.7 = 9,69

So the basic reproduction number of the new mutation will be something between 5,576 and 9,69 and the South African mutation is said to be even more contagious than this.

Lets have a look at Wikipedia: 5,576 and 9,69 is as contagious like Mumps and Polio. Or anywhere between Rubella and Chickenpox. All 'childhood diseases' called so, because this are the most contagious diseases we have. Usually one get infected during childhood, except you get vaccinated. You will not get through your childhood without getting this disease. This is the reason it is called so. And it seems now we have a new one. And all assume the vaccination will work nevertheless. They assume...
