corona virus, flu season coming, murder hornets (lol), several black plague cases out west, schools re-opening and spreading the virus further (teachers dying/retiring), fire storms covering the entire west coast with smoke visible from outer space, bikers spreading virus, farmers almanac & weather pros all saying winter will be bad (anyone checked the wooly worms?), and uh....oh yeah, we have an election coming up. any chance the North Koreans could launch nuclear missiles at us? it would almost be a relief after the last few years...:petting:

How the Coronavirus Attacks the Brain
It’s not just the lungs — the pathogen may enter brain cells, causing symptoms like delirium and confusion, scientists reported.

The coronavirus targets the lungs foremost, but also the kidneys, liver and blood vessels. Still, about half of patients report neurological symptoms, including headaches, confusion and delirium, suggesting the virus may also attack the brain.

A new study offers the first clear evidence that, in some people, the coronavirus invades brain cells, hijacking them to make copies of itself. The virus also seems to suck up all of the oxygen nearby, starving neighboring cells to death.

It’s unclear how the virus gets to the brain or how often it sets off this trail of destruction. Infection of the brain is likely to be rare, but some people may be susceptible because of their genetic backgrounds, a high viral load or other reasons.

“If the brain does become infected, it could have a lethal consequence,” said Akiko Iwasaki, an immunologist at Yale University who led the work.

The study was posted online on Wednesday and has not yet been vetted by experts for publication. But several researchers said it was careful and elegant, showing in multiple ways that the virus can infect brain cells.

Scientists have had to rely on brain imaging and patient symptoms to infer effects on the brain, but “we hadn’t really seen much evidence that the virus can infect the brain, even though we knew it was a potential possibility,” said Dr. Michael Zandi, consultant neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Britain. “This data just provides a little bit more evidence that it certainly can.”

Dr. Zandi and his colleagues published research in July showing that some patients with Covid-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus, develop serious neurological complications, including nerve damage.

Covid can enter any cell with an ACE2 receptor, which includes the lungs, kidneys, heart, brain and blood vessels to name a few. This provides the virus with the ability to so a lot of damage, even if it doesn’t present itself right away.

Finance blog Zero Hedge was banned from Twitter for Wuhan coronavirus misinformation. Zero Hedge a "far-right" and "pro-Trump" news site, reflecting the long way the site has come since it began posting insider financial knowledge and humor in around the 2008 financial collapse.

Since its rise to popularity among Wall Street insiders, Zero Hedge has since become best known for its sensationalist headlines and gruff take on the world's news.

That's funny Facebook never bans any of my news sources. Of course I double check before posting making sure the person making statements is an actual authority and and the information is found in more than one spot, such as posted in Newsweek and CNN or Business Insider and the Guardian. If some one is unreliable I won't post them, for instance I loved ed from MSNBC but I caught him embellishing the truth on the left side so I stopped posting him. Rachel Maddie is fairly reliable though and thinks outside the box. She has a PHD and interviews those from the right who dare come in her show. After she revealed Rand Paul's opposition to the Voting Rights act most repubs won't go in their any more because of her 'gotcha' questions.
Funny I thought that's what journalists were supposed to do?

zero hedge credibility from unbiased source that does nothing but fact check alleged news sources - https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/zero-hedge/

I really do not doubt our, or some other government may have created it, but that source is not credible.

Well, media is all over the place and just not even covering or not asking tough questions

It has given rise to what we have

And I will take it

I guess its up to the individual to do research

maybe less about sources and more about information

If it is true at least we have it

Thanks for All the heads up and information in general everyone!

It would be on NPR, PBS, all the other news stations reporting similar if what Zero Hedge mentioned was true and reliable. Back pedaling and conspiracy continues saying it was lab caused. Nope.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has led to over 910,000 deaths worldwide and unprecedented decimation of the global economy. Despite its tremendous impact, the origin of SARS-CoV-2 has remained mysterious and controversial. The natural origin theory, although widely accepted, lacks substantial support. The alternative theory that the virus may have come from a research laboratory is, however, strictly censored on peer-reviewed scientific journals. Nonetheless, SARS-CoV-2 shows biological characteristics that are inconsistent with a naturally occurring, zoonotic virus. In this report, we describe the genomic, structural, medical, and literature evidence, which, when considered together, strongly contradicts the natural origin theory. The evidence shows that SARS-CoV-2 should be a laboratory product created by using bat coronaviruses ZC45 and/or ZXC21 as a template and/or backbone. Building upon the evidence, we further postulate a synthetic route for SARS-CoV-2, demonstrating that the laboratory-creation of this coronavirus is convenient and can be accomplished in approximately six months. Our work emphasizes the need for an independent investigation into the relevant research laboratories. It also argues for a critical look into certain recently published data, which, albeit problematic, was used to support and claim a natural origin of SARS-CoV-2. From a public health perspective, these actions are necessary as knowledge of the origin of SARS-CoV-2 and of how the virus entered the human population are of pivotal importance in the fundamental control of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as in preventing similar, future pandemics
