Vit d study

The Russian vaccine has good results in the 37 I think it was, cases it was tested on. So now its off the mexico for phase 3 trials on thousands. I'll be waiting for a vaccine that's been tested on more than 37 healthy people. And I'll be taking vit d in the mean time

the Russians are testing their vaccine on Mexicans? why are Russians not volunteering for it? do they know something the rest of us don't? or, at least, something the Mexicans are not aware of? yeah, 37 aint enough by a long fucking shot to convince me...

After my yearly physical and blood work last summer, my dr told me I was vitamin D deficient. I said "isn't everyone? " he said "let me rephrase that. You have no Vit D". lol. So I've been taking 1500 IU for a year. I don't feel any different, but hey.. as long as it's not slowing me down I'll keep taking it.

Same here I was taking 2000 perday with gel caps
I made the mistake of.buying a pill type and in barely able to get it down

According to Israeli researchers, medical cannabis can effectively treat some coronavirus symptoms.

Researchers at the Medical Cannabis Research and Innovation Center in Haifa are leading a leading study of the treatment of critically ill COVID-19 patients with medical cannabis.

Dr. Igal Louria-Hayon, Scientific Director of the Medical Cannabis Research and Innovation Center , is leading the study.

“We were working on a better understanding of how cannabinoids participate in the communication network of cells in the immune system. While we were working on this, the coronavirus pandemic suddenly broke out, ”says Dr. Louria-Hayon. "We were in one of the largest hospitals in Israel, which is how our team became part of the global effort to fight the pandemic."

Current research shows that when the body's immune system recognizes a new and threatening invader, a large number of white blood cells are activated and release inflammatory "communication molecules" called cytokines. The cytokines activate even more white blood cells and regulate the inflammatory process.

The storm of cytokines can trigger an uncontrollable inflammatory response that worsens the disease and can lead to death.

According to Dr. Louria-Hayon is hypothesized, based on experimental data, that cannabis may influence the cytokine storm induced by COVID-19.

“Not every cannabis strain that exhibits anti-inflammatory properties can treat COVID-19. Our challenge is to find the specific strain or cannabinoid combination that can treat the specific COVID-19-related inflammation pattern. ", he said.

A biobank database of COVID-19 patients will help investigate the potential therapeutic effects of cannabis in combating some of the symptoms of the deadly virus.

Researchers at the Cannabis Research Center examined multiple cannabis strains and were able to narrow the field to about 15 strains that seem to prevent the intense inflammatory response of some COVID-19 patients. “We found signs that cannabinoids contribute to the advanced tissue network of intercellular communication,” explains Dr. Louria-Hayon explains.

“Intercellular communication based on cannabis-like substances also exists in the immune system. Understanding how cannabinoid components are used in intercellular communication can help influence this communication. In the case of a disease, we can disrupt it or enable communication to convey the desired messages. ”

Each cannabis strain has hundreds of active substances. The researchers want to investigate the receptors to which these substances bind, the cellular messages that are communicated and the extent to which cannabinoids reduce the inflammatory response.
I dunno about the efficacy of consuming certain strains against Covid but, I do know one can tailor their strains used to target particular ailments. I know I have. Medicinal cannabis is in it's infancy and I am sure that with time, we will know more wrt its therapeutic capabilities.

You have a headache, you use to take an aspirin. You had back pain you take an muscle relaxant etc... That being said, while strain A can be beneficial for individual X, it may not alleviate ailments in individual Y. One size doesn't fit all. OTOH, cannabis treats the root cause, not the symptoms.

Not surprising! As we get older our bodies aren't as efficient as they once were. This is further exacerbated with the food we eat, which no longer provides the required nutrients we need, so we have to supplement. The latter is not limited to "today's" food, it has been going on for quite some time, for whatever reason.

Most tablets you get off a shelf are 10 micro grams, that's 400 IU
Gel caps the docs prescribe here are 20,000 IU.
Docs won't prescribe it anymore here, I've tried to get the good ones.
Mg stands for milligrams, but they are only showing mu grams, sorry can't fing the symbol for mu. They are micro grams. One micro grams is 40 IU.
Don't get confused on the tablet value, or you'll be getting a fraction of what you need.

Also remember that D needs K (folic acid) to bind with calcium. If you don't take it with both, it will either wash through you or strip calcium from teeth and bones, creating other problems.

Dosages of 20.000 is unusefull, better is to take 2000 IU (50 mcg) per day icw vitamin K2 which you need about 100-200 mcg per day.

I had a bloodwork phys 2 years ago and the doc said I was way low on D. The pills he sold me are 125 micrograms. Next physical was all nominal, so I suppose it works. An aging thing I suppose.

As for pot being good for covid, I have to think that stripping those terps off when vaping flower has to be helpful. Those aromatic solvents must play hell on the germs. Like inhaling sanitizer LOL. I haven't caught it yet. :smokey:

The higher dosages from docs are a short term thing to get peeps up to where they need to be, not a long term suggestion. 2k IU per day is plenty if you aren't depleted like mex said. I didn't know the correct dosage of folic acid, thanks mex.

While lining the lungs with pollutants is hardly healthy, I suppose it will protect some of the receptors from the virus, lowering initial infection loads. I still can't see docs telling peeps to start smoking to help lower their risk of high load infections.

For some reasons toking seems to have fewer residual effects for my night time ritual as compared to tinctures or edibles? I don't know if it's my fucked up intestines or my liver that reacts badly. At any rate I broke my vape so fr now I'm rolling joints and hitting the bong.

Not wanting to throw away my vaped bud, I developed a habit of chewing the slightly brown residue left over after vaping. The effect was very sedative, which worked out great as an evening dose, but then I started noticing a distinct dull pain in my side, where I think one's liver is located.

Stopped chewing vaped bud, and that dull pain in my side vanished instantly. I understand the liver plays a major role in metabolizing TCH and CBD, but my lever clearly did not take to that role at all, so now I toss out all vaped bud, no matter how nice of a fragrance is retains.

Circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 – Sudan.
https://www.who.int/csr/don/01-september-2020-polio-sudan/en/

Polio vaccine was sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation and now there is an outbreak.

Vaccine research covid-19 in Leiden is also in danger since they use the same method as the Astrazeneca/Oxford vaccine.
Russian vaccine seems to be using also the same method and that will be tested in Mexico the coming time.
