Living rural has made it easy for me and gave me extra time to spend on my garden and traveling the trails on the atv. I can't imagine what it's like for people in apartments. I have a son living in one but he works nights and is an introvert in the extreme so he's happy. But locking down with kids? Wow. But they did it! I raise my hat to them.
We're down to about 4 new cases a day, and now we have to wear masks and maintain distance for this one last push. Most people I know are looking at what we've been doing as a Dry Run fin case a second wave shows up. If it hits, which apparently is a statistical certainty, we know what to do.
Secretly, I don't give a shit if I get it and die. I've lived my life and had a good time doing it most of the time. But I wear my gorilla gloves, a mask, keep my distance from people, wash my hands every time I enter or exit a store, when I get back in the car, and when I get home because I don't want people in my circle to get it. Simple as that.
It's probably going to be like this until next summer, so may as well suck it up and just do it. Life has changed. Accept it. With a little luck, and if people start taking it seriously, we might get back to a place close to where we were before covid. But only close.
I have a cabin on a lake in the North Country (NY). It looks like I won't be able to go there for this year at least because it sounds like the Canadian government will keep the US border closed until cases all but disappear in the US.

At the end of the day, we have to keep asking ourselves if our designated government and global health authorities actually have our best interests at hand. If not, why do we continue to support it?
There are many examples that show these institutions do not work to make humanity thrive, but instead oppress humanity. When it comes to the World Health Organization (WHO) for example, Wikileaks exposed how much they are influenced by pharmaceutical companies. Vimeo also recently completely banned a documentary that exposed the same thing. That particular documentary featured many scientists, doctors and even officials from within the WHO.
It’s quite clear to many that government doesn’t really put the citizens it claims to represent first, but instead corporations and big money. So why do we constantly listen to their advice? Why do we constantly rely on them for truth and information? Why do we rely on them for guidance? Would we not be better off determining for ourselves what is appropriate, especially in the face of such controversial times when so much is being exposed?
