About the massive debt for spending time in icu. We have not such problem here in Spain. And this is a much poorer and chaotic country than USA. We cannot understand from here why USA people have allowed such terrible situation. I remember Michael Moore's film Sicko and it is really terrible. I wonder why people allow that. Why people don't use the 2nd amendment to coquer such right. If the government don't give you a good health care system and education, taxes are a scam.

Yes our health care situation is ridiculous in the USA. Its unlike anything anywhere. My ex wife was in hospital administrator and said the little small town hospital wrote off hundreds of thousands of dollars every day. Meanwhile the insured pay higher and higher premiums to cover the the costs of those without insurance. Hige corporarions pay CEOs billions while millions do without health care.

This virus is strange snd i think there are many false postives and probably a number of false negatives...

Health care should have never been privatized and incentivized. Its the only "product" i buy without knowing the cost, am forced to buy and have an incentive to consume without regards to cost.

Gas oven put mask in ...turn on 200 deg most are limit low of 200 deg..
I wait till i here the thermostat beep then thern off and wait 30-40 min. Remove mask

Absolutely.

And at this point, we're basically 2 months into the 'run' of this here, and all we have are models projecting possible outcomes, which often take liberties with projected infection rates and mortality rates, full well knowing that we have extreme shortages on test kits, etc.

What we do know about infection rates, left unchecked especially, is that they progress exponentially unless some other variable kills the virus or what ever.

The analogy I used before was a phone tree, with 6 persons calling six more persons each, etc.

We can think critically and try to dissect the numbers and implications for what appears to be contradictions, but the bottom line is we don't know, beyond those (sometimes conflicting) variables or representations.

So I pose to doubters, again, if I tell them the dog in the cage has bitten or killed 8 people, 35 chickens, and 100 cats, are they crawling in there?

I'm comfy a home. The economy can recover, and much of what we consume is frill stuff anyway. Dead people don't recover. Those are facts I feel comfortable accepting and embracing.

Yes Pelosi is stupid too for trying to, actually I have no idea what she was trying to do. Advocate celebrations continue in SF China-town ? without masks - was she trying to kill people - the group included fresh returns from Wuhan.

It is like watching the Captain of the Titanic talk about what a good job he's doing, while it is uncertain what the outcome will be.

And he thinks it's calming ?!

He ran through a long list of a whole bunch of corporate CEO's names, that are on a list, and many of them said they had no idea what he was talking about.

he tries to build Ego ? by claiming close-ness to famous people.

The variances from state to state, and even from city to city within the same states, re. what level of authority or might is applied to the sheltering in place orders is pretty noteworthy.

Some places are still more or less operating on a mere advisory level, and others have folks being dragged off buses for lack of masks, distancing, etc.

I wager Yahtzee, Risk, Monopoly, and even Chutes & Ladders sales are WAY up, and probably a good way to weather this thing out.:)

To be clear, Gates (Foundation) funds his research center; he is not a hands-on guy there. His Board at the Center does the hiring/vetting of researchers, Docs, etc., as is common at all/most such places.

I'm not a Bill Gates fan, as I see him as an opportunist where his operating systems and out-sourcing of help or trouble desks are concerned. But I also know that his funding of a project doesn't mean his hands are in the pudding, either.

He's a philanthropist, sometimes on the opportunistic side of philanthropy, as are many in that socio-economic strata.

As far as volunteering, I suspect they want persons who are willing to be infected (??). I'm not, and in this case, I won't be barging through any doors with my hand raised. Not even for money. Even with hallucinogens, amphetamines, etc., I've typically relied on others research to guide me as to what my future decisions might be.

2008 Nobel Prize Winner Says Covid-19 Is Man-made

The scientist who discovered the HIV virus and won the 2008 Nobel Prize for Medicine says the Covid-19 virus is man-made and not a natural mutation. He says , “in order to insert an HIV sequence into this genome, molecular tools are needed, and that can only be done in a laboratory.” He thinks the Chinese were searching for an AIDS vaccine and their construction accidentally escaped from the lab. He adds that the good news is that “Nature does not accept any molecular tinkering, it will eliminate these unnatural changes and even if nothing is done, things will get better, but unfortunately after many deaths.”

Bob, your continuing to skew facts re. implying Gates is directly involved in medical research re. vaccines, as opposed to funding that research through the Center his Foundation funds, detracts from your credibility. It's a mark of someone engaged in obfuscation, which is less than noble where debating information is concerned.

I strongly encourage you to research the credentials of these folks who DO work on vaccine development at his Center, and see if they are or aren't qualified, and meet most persons' standards.
